    ⚔ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲?
    What I loved about this was how respectful and thoughtful both were. The student asked tough questions with an open mind, and Cliffe answered with calm precision.
    𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝟱 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲:
    1. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 - Order and complexity point to an intelligent Creator.
    2. 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 - Life cannot come from non-life.
    3. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 - Objective moral laws require a moral Lawgiver.
    4. 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 - True love can’t exist without a God who is love.
    5. 𝗔𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 - Living morally while denying God ignores the very source of morality.
    Which of these do you agree or disagree with?

      I am welling up with tears at this video! My heart breaks for that young man! He’s handsome, intelligent, articulate, poised and because there’s no neutrality, he loves himself and hates God! And yet Cliff treats him with so much respect, care and love! God is so merciful! Lord, would you please save that young man! In Jesus name…

      Disagree with all of them; those statements are merely assertions, and none of them are rooted in logic or facts. Some people need to learn that just making an assertion doesn't turn it into a statement of fact.

      @jpio8452How unfactual are the points above? For example, Is the earth not wonderfully designed? Is your life not a fact? Is it an illusion? Do you not naturally have a standard of good or bad? What is love to you? An illusion?

    • @majmage
      @majmage 4 months ago +2

      Well the issue is the student didn't know the ways Cliffe's arguments were bad. Is _that_ what you like about it?
      Because I can point out the problems
      1. Cliffe presents no specific examples of order/design. He doesn't because he can't, since when we look out in the universe beyond the intelligent animals of our planet (who _do_ produce things that look and are designed!), we don't see anything that looks designed for a particular goal. It all just appears to have happened naturally, according to the laws of physics.
      2. If he had presented design, _Cliffe didn't show evidence the cause of it was a god._ In other words his argument is a lot like if Gary barged into our conversation and insisted _leprechauns_ were the cause of the design.
      3. Cliffe's second rule "life always comes from life" _rules out an uncaused living God._ Why? Because life always comes from life. So such a god would need to come from life. But of course the moment a theist retracts that idea, what's left in the argument? Nothing. That rule is _the heart_ of the argument. (Many arguments for God are like that: creating a rule that God contradicts, but if they admit the rule isn't a hard rule (ie it doesn't apply to God) then they're admitting the argument is non-existent.)
      4. Cliffe presents no evidence of a single objective moral value. He cannot prove any act is objectively right/wrong independent of opinions/feelings/tastes (the things that make a moral subjective). Ironically when theists are asked to meet the challenge Cliffe didn't, they usually go straight to asking someone's opinion about an act.
      5. But again, what if we did have evidence of objective moral values. Well _Gary says leprechauns are the source of those values!_ Cliffe says God. Neither has evidence that their claimed source is the actual source. So even if we knew objective moral values existed, why would it be evidence of a god? It wouldn't.
      6. Why would love indicate a god's existence at all? Love just seems to be a very straightforward product of evolution working on social species, so we have good evidence of the actual non-intelligent cause of love (which is evolution), and no evidence at all of a claimed outside source of love (god). No, go away Gary leprechauns don't cause love either. (But yeah Gary's argument is still just as bad as Cliffe's right? Gary insists leprechauns are the cause of love too. He still has no evidence they exist, could cause love, and did cause it. Just like Cliffe.)
      Yet when you explain the problems, what you get back from theists is almost never a thoughtful back and forth but usually a pile of problematic bad arguments. (More bad arguments to defend the existing bad arguments.) Then when you explain the errors to those new arguments, they just seem to ignore those problems too.

      As a child, I had severe Aspd from the way I was abused. I can recognize it in this man right out. He's literally asking these questions because he literally wants the answers, he does not experience love for anyone, but himself or believe in anything, but himself. And that is exactly why you would question god and love. As a child, that was this way. But I did want to be like other people I wondered why I did not feel emotions as other people did.And I could honestly say , as an adult , I still have a lot of aspd , but I do actually have love or caring for other people other than myself and animals as a child , it was the opposite

      You wrote, "If a person who is assassinated in front of you doesn’t shock you or you don’t think is evil, you are evil."
      Your statement is a classic example of a black-and-white fallacy (also called false dichotomy or polarized thinking). It presents an extremely oversimplified moral binary: either you are shocked and condemn an assassination, or you are evil.
      It lacks morality and an authentic sense of spirituality.
      Here’s what’s missing and what’s wrong with it (and with believing it rigidly):
      Assassinations can occur for wildly different reasons and against a wide range of individuals.
      The victim could be a brutal dictator who has killed millions.
      The victim could be a democratically elected leader trying to reduce suffering.
      Being “not shocked” or even quietly thinking “good riddance” in the first case does not automatically make someone evil.
      It can simply mean they believe the world is better off without that person.
      Moral judgment depends on who was killed and why.
      Shock is an emotion, not a moral compass. Some people are desensitized by trauma, overexposure to violence, or cultural differences and don’t display visible shock, yet they can still recognize assassination as wrong in principle.
      Conversely, someone can be dramatically shocked on camera and still secretly approve of the act; outward emotional display does not equal inner morality.
      Throughout history, people have celebrated the killing of tyrants (e.g., the assassination of Julius Caesar, the executions of Nazi leaders at Nuremberg, the death of Osama bin Laden).
      Reasonable people can debate whether a particular killing was justified self-defense, tyranny-ending justice, or murder.
      The statement treats all assassinations as identically evil regardless of target or circumstance, which is intellectually lazy.
      It implies that failing to have the “correct” emotional response makes you morally equivalent to the assassin. That’s a slippery slope toward authoritarian morality: “If you’re not outraged enough, you’re the enemy.”
      This is the same logic used to smear people who didn’t mourn certain public figures enough, or who criticized a victim, etc.
      Evil acts deserve condemnation, but not every killing is equally evil. Killing Hitler in 1943 is not morally identical to killing a random peaceful protester. Pretending they are erases the very concept of moral proportionality.
      What’s wrong with a person who genuinely believes this statement uncritically?
      They are engaged in moral grandstanding and virtue signaling rather than moral reasoning.
      They prioritize performative outrage over actual ethical analysis.
      They risk becoming the kind of person who polices other people’s emotions instead of examining real-world consequences.
      In extreme cases, this mindset justifies witch hunts: “You didn’t cry hard enough when X died, so you’re evil, so you deserve to be canceled or worse.”
      A more accurate version would be.
      “If someone is assassinated and your reaction is celebration or indifference when the victim was clearly innocent and the act was clearly unjust, that is a serious moral failure. But automatically equating lack of shock with evil ignores context, desensitization, and legitimate disagreement about justice.”
      In short, the original statement is missing context, nuance, proportionality, and humility.
      Believing it wholeheartedly turns morality into a blunt weapon rather than a tool for understanding right and wrong.

      Your entire body is made up of just 11 non living elements. Oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon, calcium, and phosphorus make up a little over 99% of it and sulphur, potassium, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium make up the remainder.

      @mirandahotspring4019if there was nothing before then where did these elements come from if there were no stars no planets which produces these elements in their distruction when the stars die??? If there's nothing before you have no way to make a singularity, as there's no gravity or anything else to provide the material for your singularity! Just like a bomb you have no fuse so no 💥 everything ties into one another and one thing can't exist by itself because you either have everything or nothing

    • @lisadooley3872
      @lisadooley3872 4 months ago

      @SOG10ICXC5NIKA6IHS5exactly, everything that exists is tied to one another in one way or another, just like a strand of DNA!! You don't have anything without all the ingredients so if one thing doesn't exist you have nothing and those who don't know anything about science as you mentioned they believe that something came from nothing!!

    • @mirandahotspring4019
      @mirandahotspring4019 4 months ago

      @lisadooley3872 Try reading a bit of basic astrophysics. At the time of the big bang no matter existed. No stars, no planets, no matter, the conditions were far too hot for matter to exist. Matter coalesced only after initial inflation and it cooled enough for matter to exist. I thought I already explained that.

      Someone else did a really good job on this thread, should I copy it for you?

      Does the reasoning he presents matter(Cliff), or only the conclusions?

    • @babisbabinos8075
      @babisbabinos8075 3 months ago

      @drewdrake9130What exactly do you find fallacious? I only heard reasons about why God is more possible to exist than not. Just by looking at the complexity of the universe, you will realize that it could have not come from nothing. There are also historical and archeological reasons to believe the Bible. So many figures from the Old Testament are historical and you can look it up. So many archeological findings have been traced because of the Bible even for tribes that there was no evidence for their existence at the time.

    • @drewdrake9130
      @drewdrake9130 3 months ago

      @babisbabinos8075
      You could just ask Google...
      The main fallacies often cited within the design (teleological) argument are:
      Weak Analogy / False Analogy: This is the primary critique of the classic "watchmaker analogy." The argument compares the universe or complex natural objects (like an eye) to human-made artifacts (like a watch), claiming that since artifacts require a designer, nature must also. Critics argue the universe and a watch are too dissimilar for the analogy to hold, especially because we observe how watches are made but do not observe the universe being created.
      Argument from Ignorance / God of the Gaps: This occurs when a proponent asserts that because natural processes cannot yet explain a phenomenon's complexity (the "gap"), it must therefore be the work of a designer (God). The conclusion is drawn from a lack of scientific knowledge rather than from positive evidence for a designer.
      Begging the Question (Circular Reasoning): Some versions of the argument implicitly assume the concept of a "designer" in the premise. For example, by calling nature a "design," it preemptively affirms the existence of a designer.
      Special Pleading: This fallacy is used against the assumption that the designer itself (God) does not require a designer. If every complex thing requires a designer, the supremely complex designer must also require one, leading to an infinite regress; exempting the designer is seen as special pleading.

      You should look outside of the Box Dorothy. AND you'll realize that God is Light energy. Consciousness, But GOD is simply not that of the Bible. There was never an Adam and Eve, God has never destroyed the Earth saving Noah and every animal species from a global flood. There was never Israelite slaves escape from Egypt. Our souls are on a Journey. (look outside of the box) Past lives, NDE's the evidence is overwhelming. Want a place to start? Look up the story of James Leininger, a little boy who has absolutely lived previously, without a shadow of a doubt.

      @iannicholson4169 4 months ago

      @danielfortonforton223 Sorry but that simply isn't true, AND that isn't looking outside of the box. Looking outside of the box is trying to grapple with evidence that isn't aligned with the Bible. Start with James, He is a the most irrifutable evidence of living previously. Then you could look at the ice-core drillings from Antartica. AND then you could look at how we know Evolution is true. AND then you would come to the same conclusions as myself. Christians DON"T have the Truth, they only think that they do.

    Science itself proves the existence of God - nothing can't do a thing nor create a thing.
    That's THAT kiddos!

    • @mirandahotspring4019
      @mirandahotspring4019 4 months ago +2

      Wrong. Science is the search for natural explanations for observed phenomena, not supernatural explanations. No natural explanation for any observed phenomena has ever been replaced with a supernatural explanation, but literally thousands of once supernatural explanations have been replaced with natural ones. I'm betting that trend will continue.
      Science doesn't claim anything came from nothing, science has never observed nothing, everywhere we look we look we find something. Nothing probably can't even exist, because as soon as you try to describe it you're giving it the properties of something.
      It's Christians who believe in something from nothing, creatio ex nihilo - creation from nothing, that their god spoke it all into existence, from NOTHING!

      @mirandahotspring4019we both agree that prior to whether you believe in a random explosion or the fact that God said let there be light, there was nothing so how can you make any 💥 with nothing?? That fact that there's something and not nothing proves that God is there or something else is there in order to light the fuse to get the 💥 so something or someone is outside time and space to start the ball rolling! Nothing brings about nothing, without something to start something you can't have any type of beginning!

    • @mirandahotspring4019
      @mirandahotspring4019 4 months ago +2

      @lisadooley3872 The big bang wasn't an explosion, stupid analogy. An explosion is a chemical or nuclear reaction that turns matter into energy. The big bang was the inflation, or expansion, of a singularity of energy from a state of almost infinite heat and density. As it inflated it cooled, allowing matter to come into existence.
      See the difference?
      Scientists have observed sub atomic particles popping in and out of existence in vacuums, due to quantum fluctuations.

      @mirandahotspring4019k if there was nothing there beforehand then where did this come from??? How can a singularity appear suddenly if there's no material before hand?? Explain that!! Everyone agrees that there was nothing there beforehand and things even singularities don't just appear from nothing! You know nothing about science because every ingredient you need to make something like your theory is tied to every other ingredient in one way or another so you can't have one thing appear then something else as they are tied like a braid

    6:37 - If lightning and a primordial soup convergence caused proto-life to begin, how come we do not see that process taking place now? Lightning strikes happen 100 times sec, or 8 million times a day, or 3 billion a year. And if it were to occur, wouldn't we find DNA in that mix? Base chemicals plus a powerful electric strike does not information or life, make. Hebrews 1:10 And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands;" Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

    God created humans and giving them free will and a mind to live. Their intelligence creates order and it shows by what they created. However, God holds his creation by all things being “being” , means existing. Nothing exist “being” without God the creator. When Moses ask God, what is your name, I AM WHO I AM. I am is the verb “to be “

    Hebrews 11:6 (Niv) And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him. You can talk to people until you are blue in the face, but until that person has made up their mind by faith to believe it's near impossible. Titus 3:19, and 2 Timothy 2:16 make reference to how we should not debate or argue spiritual things. 1 Corinthians 2:14 makes reference to us needing the mind of Christ in order to understand God and His plans. This happens when you actually receive Him as Lord and Savior by faith. Romans 12:3 God has given every man a measure of faith to believe. However, we changed that belief into the worship of creation and not the creator, Romans chapter 1. No matter how many signs and wonders Jesus did, the people still wanted more proof that He was who He said He was. You must believe within yourself. He is the Savior
