I save about $5000 for gifts stockings and Christmas brunch and dinner. We are a family of 16 ppl at Christmas and I host them all Christmas Day!❤. It’s my favourite day of the year as we are all together ❤ ❤
Wow! That is amazing for a family of 16 it sounds like you have a great plan! Love that you are able to spend Christmas with all of your family! That is priceless!!
Happy Friday! I love the way you explain the How’s and Why’s of your process. I’ve started running your playlist. If you’re like me, you can always use the watch hours. Have a great weekend. 🥰🤗 21:18
I was just saying yesterday I need to make an actual list/budget for Christmas! This is my first year really budgeting so my first time doing Christmas on a budget! Usually I SAY 1k-1500 but I don't actually know...def something to work on in the next few weeks!
Yes! I am so excited that you have chosen to budget for Christmas this year. I used to spend so much money on Christmas in previous years and I just went overboard! I used to buy everything with CCs and rack up the debt. I hope you are able to figure out a budget that works for you!
Hi Marlene, love Christmas savings. This is the first year I started saving in advance and I am loving it. I’m poor so I only do $50 each for mom and dad, $100 for my boyfriend and around $150-$200 for my 7 year old and I believe I already have that much saved but planning to keep on saving to get a head start for next year. So glad I found this community because I’m fully funded with back to school, the 3 cabining trips this summer and my cruise in Jan! So thank you for teaching me how to save and it’s alright when things come up and money gets tight.
This year, my budget is $2400 for Christmas. That is just for presents. I don't cook a Christmas meal. I go to my Mother in Laws Christmas Eve and my Moms Christmas Day. Presents include my 2 kids, my younger niece and nephew, and 3 of my great niece and nephews. I also buy for my Mom and Mother in Law.
Nice job on the xmas future. That is a Janelle Rae challenge - I have the same one. I only save a few hundred for xmas now that everyone is older (no toddlers around anymore). Years ago it got super expensive for those with young kids to buy for everyone. So we decided to not buy/exchange gifts for everyone. I only buy for a few people now.
Thank you so much! I am so happy that you limit who you buy for! For us it took so much stress off of us when we stopped buying for all of the nieces, nephews, cousins and all the family!!
😂😂😂im so spicy!- that was hilarious For Christmas i save $2k-$2500, the only thing that amount does not include is traveling bc we usually stay home. Its high partially bc advent calendars have become a big deal in our house. We ship for myself, Jacob & Greysin, my sister (from another mister) & her daughter (my only daughter lol). We do angel tree shopping & i send a gift card to a friend to take her crew out for lunch.
Hey Marlene! This is the first year I’ve saved for Xmas for everyone, I don’t have the biggest family and I decided to keep it small as we’re trying to pay off debt. So I save for presents, food and shipping as I have family in Aus and shipping is outrageous! Great savings for future Xmas I love that idea 🥰💜
Our family lives in the same city, so we don’t save for travel, and we all pitch in for finger foods for Christmas dinner, so that can come out of my regular grocery budget. I save $100-$140 a month, but only need $500 for family gifts. The rest is for blessing people in our community.
My parents started it years ago. Our local PD lets the community know when they find that a family is in need beyond what they can do. We realized, and confirmed, that they were giving out of their own pockets when they came across a need, so we started making sure that they had plenty of Walmart gift cards to use. It has grown because I post on social media in the local community groups to let people know that our police are often the ones who see that a family is in need and are a good place to give. We also have a lady in the community that posts the needs of single mothers, so I got to buy one lady a tire and one family pajamas, little things like that.
This is my first year saving for Christmas. I'm trying to get $1500 to $2000 saved up for gifts, dinner, decor, and hopefully paying for half of my adult children's plane tickets home.
This is the first year I'm saving and not using CC. I'm try $1500 for everything decorations food and presents probably more than needed but I figure a head start for next year 😊
I only have a family of 7. Some years we pull adult names and just give one gift to that adult and give the two kids. This year I am making advent calendars for all 7 and almost finished. We do pot luck for lunch and no travel. So I think other than the grandson, the rest of the gifts are minimal.
I am trying to save $2500 for Christmas. I have my 2 boys and husband but I have 7 nieces and nephews and both sets of parents that we buy for and usually we do a name pull for siblings on my side and buy for my sister in law and husband. I try to keep my kids around $500 each but they are teenagers and nothing they want is cheap.
🫂💚💪💵✉️. I save $500 for the 9-11 people and our kitty furson for gifts and stockings. We don't go anywhere and no one comes over. We eat whatever leftovers from the night before that were left. Our daughter is picky, my husband can't/ doesn't eat certain foods and I can't eat most solid foods. We'll probably order from 🌮 🔔 😋, the night before this year as a special treat. It's one of the few solid foods that I can still eat and it actually stays in.
You are so fun to watch and do help us with REALITY AS IT HAPPENS. Budgeting is decision making and you help give confidence to select wisely!
Thank you so much Judith! 🥰🥰
