Just curious - would you have any of the rosetted species for sale? In addition, when would they usually go for sale?
Really enjoyed the editing style !
Appreciate it!
hey just hoping u could tell us where u get your silica sand from or can you. use beach sand
Hi, don’t use beach sand. I get the silica from any home improvement store, I got mine from bunnings
Did you purchase the tubers from somewhere in Australia or elsewhere? Or were they gifts?
I did a trade with another grower here in Aus. I sent some seeds and he very generously sent me all the tubers and seeds I received :)
Here in America Fall and Autumn are used somewhat interchangeably. So you can just use the correct term, Autumn, and even us dumbed down 'Muricans will still understand just fine. 😁
Haha good to know! I thought it was exclusively Fall. Have a good one!
2 questions 1 it is now june9, is it too late to plant my drosera seeds? 2. Is propagation sand the same as horticultural sand?
Nope it should be perfectly fine to plant them now. They will probably not sprout very soon, but they will when the weather warms up. Otherwise you can keep them in the fridge and sow them in the first month of spring :) I’m pretty sure they are the same thing. However it’s best to use silica sand. I used propagation sand only because I had nothing else and I was assured by a very respectable grower that it is ok for tuberous drosera and I ensured that it was EXTREMELY well washed as often times there is fungus and mold spores in this sand which can kill plants!
I found tubers can find the way to get the right growing direction when you sow them, doesnt seem necesary to guide them!
Yes I found that too but just wanted to help them haha
How long does it take for the tubers to start growing? I planted mine 25 days ago. Thanks!
They generally follow environmental cues. Cold temperatures and moist soil causes them to start growing, but I would say in the second / third month of autumn they should be visible at the top of the soil
I am stuck ... I keep on clappping my hands but the sand does not unpack?
What do you mean?
@@TheFlytrapGarden In this video you clapped your hands and the sand unpacked itself. It is not working for me ....
