To be clear, the company is renegotiating the contract so that the pay rate can max out at $31/hr. So you wouldn’t make $31 hour when you start you will have to work for years before you would make that pay rate. I’m not willing to stay here that long 😩

A lot of people don’t understand because of security of a check. The best thing to do is leave if you feel it not for you. The worst is to waste your life at a job you don’t like just because of the money. Your videos are motivating Appreciate it 👍

Sometimes everything isn’t for everyone. I use to operate subway, street cars and all. I was 16 when I started with septa. I also was an instructor and an examiner, so I used to administer the CDL test for class A and B . Stay focused and everything will fall into place for you and your family.

Kids now-a-days don't function on the "get a good job" work ethic I went to work on. They think three years is too long! I don't know how they get health care coverage or subsidize their retirement plans. They are definitely hustlers, though.

I'm a bus driver and I avoid those 4 am times lmao. The old timers love those 100% early moring schedules. At my transit agency, we have a seniority with night runs. I make about $2500 a week paid bi-weekly. That's in the bay area. That's low. Muni makes twice that.

I’m about to get my CDL and start my training in just about less then a month.
I already got my endorsements. My job starts me at $23 a hr.
My current job is only $17
I’m used to the early morning shifts. Rent getting to high it goes up every year and I’m tryna get a new place but every thing else is 300 or more dollars a month and I’m like damn. I’m 24 with a kid and I live on my own with my girl. I got goals. Too. I’m tryna buy another car and find some more affordable housing.. Nj is expensive right now.

I'm rooting for you king. to find that thing that you love doing so it doesn't feel like work.
but as a responsible adult it takes work to get and keep the things you want in life. It also shows reliability ,trust. So Prayer and structure and guidance is good. seek his will for your life. nothing is guaranteed in Life it's good to have a plan A B C to fall back on. Stay Blessed.

I just started this same job (city bus driver) I feel exactly what you are saying I don’t even know how long I’ll be driving this bus. I only have ever worked the same job for max 1 year and I’ve been working since I was 16 … I really took this job because of the pay and I want to use that money to open my own trucking business … I can’t believe I really found a person on RUclips saying my exact thoughts 😂

I noticed that American city busses have narrow rear doors. Novas are the only buses that wide opening doors rear and front. Also I am fellow operator out of Austin. My reason for join the bus work force is for the steady paycheck. Also I love driving around and meeting new people.

Where are you at now in your career bro? I'm from Detroit, live in Atlanta now and my last day driving the bus last week. I work for MARTA and started Dispatch training 2 days ago. I was never cut out for AM driving either, so I worked PM shift. I also own a business, but my passion is public transportation. This was really just something to do, and I have been here for 16 months and already moving up.

you need to get willing to stick with a job. stick with something for now, keep with it until something better comes along. UPS pays good. they hire a lot in the fall/winter for Christmas and do keep some people. if you are up to that type of work ...check into it.

I lost a transit job and had to work hard manual labor jobs for a few years after regretting every minute. Driving a bus was a piece of cake. Not even 'work' by comparison. By the grace of God I'm able to return to bus driving. Union w.benefits. Automatic raises, pension. Thank God.
