I'm so inspired having been in lock up myself. Falsely accused of sex crimes twice as if one time wasn't bad enough. When I was locked up in county jail,(6 years total) I taught people how to read, basic math, English, and some basic science. I did it because I felt bad for everybody in there regardless of their crimes. People need people! I want to become an investigative journalist and would love to work for the Marshall Project!!
So many people in America think talking to a cop, is going to help them, when in reality it is the opposite. I just watched your video, from six years ago, about Shawna, from OK, who is on the sex offender list! She believe the lying cop, who told her it would go good for her, to tell the truth! I keep saying over and over again, to people, invoke your right to be silent, and when a cop ask you a question, say four words, I want a lawyer! If Shawna had gotten an attorney, chances are she would not be in the list today, and would not had been convicted of a crime.
if she would have just said she was drunk and raped she would be free and he would be on the sex offender registry.
