Does anyone know why only Fairmont's Harrison Hotspring Resort can use the hot spring water? It seems that none of the hotels nearby have rights to use it and even though many have indoor pools, none of them are allowed to use the hotspring water. To make this even stranger still, considering that this is a hotspring location, it's surprising that the Harrison area never became a hotspring and spa district similar to those in Japan and Taiwan. Developers rather build condos at the waterfront as if Fairmont's monopoly to the water source has crushed the town from developing further to avoid competition.
When I was up there the Harrison Hot Springs Resort was open work appropriate precautions. The public pool is still listed on Google as temporarily closed. Sorry for any confusion!
Latest update, the public hot spring is open again (as of 2023) but the place is so mistreated, the bottom of the pool is filled with coating peeling off. The condition of the place is very pool as the community was only able to gather resources to hair several lifeguards to keep the place open for several hours per day. Really sad to see most of the restaurants are closed and the place is in such a sorry state but nobody looked into what's happening.

I’ve been wanting to go for a long time. Good info for when I do!
It's worth the trip - The resort hotel is pricey, but it's worth the experience of the different pools :)
Some great history I never knew about!
I really enjoy trying to dig up the history of these locations. Usually there's a lot more to the story :)
So the public hot spring is not closed?

I live in Harrison
Nice! Beautiful area!
Where did you find the mineral content list of 8? I've been trying to find the water analysis for it.
I'm at the resort now, they have the mineral composition on display in the indoor pool area
