      riding a mech is less impressive than a bile titan, but it is definitely possible I do it all the time. Not enough of a myth to really test, BUT I have heard mechs are immune to the poison gas and fire, that might be worth checking out

      Not really a myth, but apparently there is a bug with the mechs, where if you are turning to the right as you shoot a rocket, the rocket will collide with the mech and instantly kill you.

      @defendthehouse Loved the video. FYI I definitely had an evac drop ship get destroyed before. It was a brutal mission against automatons with only one survivor trying to reach the extract ship. There were 2 hulks and a horde of bots on the extract. As our last man alive died, we watched the extract ship get shot down. It looked like it spun out and crashed. Maybe needs to be enemy fire? Anti-Aircraft fire? Not sure but would love to see you guys return to this one.

    I feel like the dev's recent comments about their "stealth" system really show why certain games excel as Mythbusters content farms. They said something along the lines of "We didn't make a stealth system, we made a realistic sound system, which just so happens to allow for stealth gameplay". When games are developed systematically there just happens to be alot of crazy, unique stuff that can happen/needs testing. Very excited for more!

      Yeah, they mentioned bugs having a sense of smell, but if that's a thing then literally only the Stalker has it because you can crawl right up next to any other bug and punch them to death if they don't physically see you. Hell, even the Jump Pack doesn't alert them right behind them, it somehow makes no noise to them.
      I am always running the Super-light Scout armor with the reduced detection, but I doubt the 30% it gives is actually doing all of that.

      ​@@defendthehouse I don't think you drowned btw. You were on a cold planet and the water kills you from extreme cold and not drowning. You can swim fine on other planets but I don't think it gets rid of the fire either way

      @@xSOCxGenesis 2:02 He wasn't taking damage from the fire, even though the effects were present on his character, so this might've been from before they patched the bug that stopped you from setting teammates on fire. Also I'm pretty sure you drown after swimming for 2-3 seconds, it's just there to serve as a "turn back" feature around bodies of water.
      Wouldn't mind seeing these guys test out swimming on all the different planets to make sure though.

      @@xSOCxGenesis No you can't swim fine on other planets. If you spend too long in deep water, your Helldiver drowns.

    8:00 Evac ship can be damaged but not destroyed. If it is on fire, it will take the first helldiver to enter and immediately extract with no timer.

    I saw a video of a guy sticking himself with a drop on his shield walking under a bile titan dropping the backpack and running away as it died.

      i did that. i ran in front of someone as they threw their precision strike and it stuck, so i ran towards the BT 😛

      Another thing to know is that this only works with the blue stratagems. The red stratagems come down, where you first threw them.

      @@Nixeen damaging stratagems don't go where their mark currently is, they go to where it first hit something. so you could have run to the other side of the map and not changed the trajectory of the precision strike

    Meteor storms are cool but as soon as you see that little dot of white light above you know you're about to face the redeploy screen.

    I've got a myth for you that I have noticed in a lot of my gameplay: "Blue stratagems will follow the beacon, when stuck to a shield or bug, and will target it's final position. On the other hand, red stratagems, though the beacon moves, are only called in where it first originated."
    You can even see in this video that when the walking barrage is stuck to the shield, even though the beacon moves with the shield, there is a red light that remains where the stratagem was first called in.

      Completely incorrect I’ve throw cluster bomb and it’s gotten stuck on a hunter that jumped at me after and it calls directly on the beacon

    Oh that pelican one was interesting, we also shot it with rockets until it was on fire, and then it also took off as soon as someone got in without a countdown, leaving 3 of us stranded. I bet thats intentional.

      No, there's just a rare bug that the Pelican can take off as soon as 1 person gets on. It's not related to the damage.

    So about the "destroying the evac ship" one. The only time that my friends and I have noticed it was when someone (not the host) was reinforced and they landed on top of the drop ship. The ship was destroyed on the host's screen and they could not enter, but all 3 others could enter the ship. We ended up leaving the host on the planet.

    So I noticed through gameplay that the strikes such as orbital or eagle land wherever the red becon was activated doesn't follow if it gets stuck to a teammate or enemy. But any support stratagem with a blue marker such as resupply, support weapon or any others with the blue becon will follow the becon when stuck to an ally or enemy

    Myth: you can reinforce yourself if you throw it straight up and die before it lands

      You don't even need to throw it, since being knocked down makes you drop and activate any held stratagems, you can just hold the reinforce beacon while at low health and the next hit will kill you, drop the beacon, and revive you.
      It was a classic Helldivers 1 move, actually, since in that game you couldn't get ragdolled and drop your beacons, it was only when you died.

      You can actually fix that bug by picking up a SSSD or an explosive barrel and dropping it again

    remember to spend at least 2.3 seconds admiring the scenery while in a mission. A happy helldiver is a productive helldiver. Edit: (Its 2.4 actually, and deadly not productive. I apologize for my lack of diligence with our training manual ;-;)

    FYI for some of the stratagems they don't care if the beacon moves. They are called in where the beacon initially lands. As for the hands out bug I was able to fix it by dropping and picking up the SSSD. Obviously very situational and I assume they'll probably fix it next patch. Also another mech myth would be "does turning your side towards chargers protect you more than head on collisions?" My anecdotal experience is yes it does seem to stop the charger without as much damage to the mech.

      To clarify too hellpod stratagems like the resupply and support weapons will track the beacon but any other form of stratagem will strike the initial landing point

      mechs like bots have separate HP pool for arms, with take damage in place of the torso at least until they fell off along with weapon they carry..

      @@LinkedBladesVinyl To further clarify, as this can give the impression that only blue beacon stratagems will do this- The defensive stratagems like Turrets, Mines, Tesla Tower, and Shield Relay will also track the beacon even tho they qualify as red stratagems. Mission sensitive stratagems like Hellbombs and Delivery probes will as well.

    @2:07 I think you need to test this again. Visually, Joe is on fire, but he's taking no damage from the fire. Something wonky is going on here

    it looks like if the meteor hits right next to you you're fine because the shield takes the explosion damage, gets popped, and saves you. but if the meteor hits the shield on the way down, it destroys that first, and then you die from the explosion when it hits the ground?

      Yeah that might actually be exactly what's happening with the direct hit.

      Yeah I think the meteor has collision damage from the rock, then explosion damage from the blast, as 2 separate "hits". The shield can block 1 of those hits. If it blocks the blast, you're fine. If it blocks the collision, you still get hit by the blast, which is right on top of you, so instant death.

    I think I understand why it took off immediately, we saw that it was smoking it went into emergency takeoff mode to get out before it was "lost" to the enemies and would takeoff as soon as one was on the pelican.

    Direct impact of the meteor removes the shield bubble and the following explosion kills you
    As opposed to the near miss where only the explosion hits the shield

    Bile Rider rules
    1: Medium Armor only
    2: No Medic, Servo, or Democracy perked armor
    3: No stunning or injuring the Titan before the ride starts or until your ride is over
    4: Timer starts when you land on the titan and stops when your feet leave the titan.
    5: You must survive the landing
    Bonus
    +3 Seconds added to your ride time if you solo kill the titan after your ride

    So, you guys were onto something when trying to destroy the evac, yesterday i killed both of my friends that were safe in the evac ship with a resupply beacon. i threw it where the ship was going to land before it did, and they got in immediately, then died on impact.

    Something i wanted to note. You attempted to stick an offensive Strat to the shield, the red beacon. But Offensive strats always land where the beacon first landed even if it moves afterwards. Only blue beacons track it. So even tho you move with the red beacon stuck to you, the targeting doesnt move with it

    I think there should be a feature to encourage trying to ride enemies. What if, when at point blank range of an enemy, your weapons get an addition to their armour penetration? I don’t think that’s how it works in real life, but real life doesn’t have syringes that can heal broken bones in seconds.

    The interaction with sticking stratagems to the bubble shield is actually kinda interesting, if you stick something that drops a hellpod it'll track the position and drop it on you, but bombardments like the one you used, still remember the original position and wont track you if you move. So a precision strike would've landed directly where it first stuck the bubble shield.
    Also like you saw, you can damage the evac ship, and then it will only carry one helldiver, and leave immediately.

    @3:45, you actually can get out of it pretty easily. Just spam swap weapons for a second, fixed it for me every time

      Its consistently an issue for me when I pick up sssds and swap weapons. It gets fixed if you switch to a one handed or pick something up yeah

    the dive clears you over literally every status effect in the game. (sometimes that effect just reapplies very quickly after)

    I've seen clips of you using the shield, putting a stratagem on yourself, and running under a bile titan. You drop the shield and watch it take out the bile titan. It's pretty cool because even using any stratagem seems to work, like resupply or reinforce from what I have seen so far.

    I've seen the drop ship get "deactivated" once by shooting one of the thrusters before it lands with a near fully charged railgun, but it still didn't blow up or anything. It was just on fire like you guys saw and we couldn't get in it to extract.

    You can destroy the extraction ship! I’ve had it happen before when it’s flight path coincided with an orbital laser. However it becomes invulnerable once landed so you have to destroy it while on the landing approach.

    When my friends and I were playing on level 6 difficulty, we killed a bile titan during the extraction sequence and it's corpse landed on the drop ship. The dropship exploded (sort of?) and vanished, and we had to survive all the way until the emergency evac after the mission clock hits zero

    [Fun fact] Red stratagems and blue stratagems actually have different landing properties. Blue will track u down while on a bubble or enemy. Red will land when it was triggered.

    when the pelicon takes enough damage it gives up on waiting and giving a countdown, leaving as soon as someone is inside.

    The first time i ever played a Meteor Storm mission, it killed a Science station and two Spore Spewers.
    We took a second to even register what had happened

    You can fix the broken "hug" looking animation by picking up something like the data box for the missions where you physically bring the side data objective to the primary objective.
    The glitch can be caused by carrying that data box (or anything else you can pick up I'm assuming like an explosive container) while picking up samples.

    We tried to take out the Pelican as well, it was hit by a meteor, the tail sunk into the ground a little and wouldn't register anyone getting in. Eventually it just left without us despite unloading every stratagem and explosive we had into it 😂

    A note about the "drop strategem on shield and run" thing you did.
    Red strategems aim at where it was first called in, only blue strategems follow the light and aim for the beacon.

    The extract ship can blow up. Once when extracting, a Bile Titan waddled over the ship, everybody got in and it took off and immediately exploded on contact with the Titan, but it didn't count as failing to extract. Bugged out, but a successful extraction even though we all died.

    WRT destroying the shuttle extract: So the drop ship that comes on apparently leaves without a countdown if someone is aboard and the ship takes damage. I had it happen in a round last night. One of our players was just getting aboard when a friendly mech griefed him and shot a missile at his feet (we were a full squad of friends, so just being silly.) He died, but the game registered his body as entering the shuttle and I was about to run up the ramp after leaving my own mech. No countdown or anything, shuttle just took off, leaving us with our samples behind. The friend was the only one the game counted as extracted.

    The pelican one is actually partially true. But probably because of the bug. On one mission it was hit with orbital or eagle stratagem (can't remember which exactly) right as it was landing. As a result, the script for entering the eagle broke completely, so we were unable to evaluate

    RE: blowing up the extract ship; prior to this patch, we reinforced a friend and he dropped his hellpod directly onto the shuttle, and it exploded immediately.
    The craziest part was that on his screen he was still able to board the shuttle and extract, but for the rest of us the ship was just not there, and we couldn’t extract.

    Possible utility for throwing beacons on shields. Hit it with a turret, drop shield, turret lands. Might mean you can put beacons in places they would normally bounce on.

    If blue stratagems always land exactly on the marker, I'd like to see what the pod's descent looks like as someone underneath is running around randomly with the marker. It must be zipping around like crazy to track the marker.

    I actually had a mission yesterday where the pelican was destroyed after landing because we killed a Bile Titan above it and the corpse destroyed it. After some time the thing you use to call it in reappeared but we all died before we could interact with it so I'm unsure if you can recall it.
    I don't have footage from my game BUT I believe the streamer @Woops on twitter had posted a brief clip of something similar happening to their Pelican.

    Do ballistics shields protect you when it's stowed on your back? It's would be a useful strat when you're running form automatons.
    Also I can say from experience the Pelican is in fact destructible. Or at least it was. I've had missions where stratagems were deployed way too close and ended with us not being able to sit in the damn thing. No idea if this was a bug that was fixed, but I do remember the Pelican looking very beaten up.

    I think Diving does not only help against Fire but also some of the toxin dots! For example the small exploding plants on Terminid planets.

    Red beam strats, even when stuck, will only drop at the initial impact point. Blue beam strats though will track to wherever the beacon is at the end of the countdown.

    Something I gotta say about sticking allies or bugs with stratagems. Offensive stratagems like barrages doesnt seem to follow the stratagem ball while it’s moving. It activates where it initially lands and calls in the barrage, with the light glitching out where Jam was first stuck with Walking Barrage. Thats how you died from the Walking Barrage even though Jam ran away before the first bomb dropped.
    Resupply and SOS beacons track aggressively though,
    Not sure about support weapons or sentries.

    The best way to get a good time for the Bucking Bile Titan is to have the medic armor with 6 stims, and ideally if you can get on without a jetpack you can have a supply pack to elongate the time further

    I've seen clips of the bile titan ride, it's a really good strategy if you have the Railgun cause you can point blank lay into the titan with 0 damage falloff. People 100% underestimate the power of the jetpack. Can even do the same to the tanks

    On "destroying" the extract ship, when i started playing the ship would go flying like a prop object. usually flipped upside down 80m away, if you landed a hellpod into it the right way.

    @defendthehouse A friend and I tested the shield pack while team reloading, it also seems to work to shield the non-shield wearer.
    And from what I've noticed, strike stratagems, the red beams, the ordinance drops where the beam lands, so even if it sticks an enemy or friendly who moves, it will still land where it initiated. I haven't used it so I don't know it's pattern, but it seemed to start dropping short of where the beam started up and walk forward, which is how it's described. I'd recommend testing it with the orbital strike, or maybe airstrike, something with fewer impacts than the walking barrage.

    You can ride the mech in a similar way to the bile titan except that it doesn't give contact damage, which is really strong because you can sit prone on top of it with a lmg or something and not have to worry about moving

    Get a resupply stuck to your shield and enter the dropship. Once it lands on the ship no one else can enter. That was my experience at least.

    Suggestion for a Myth: Bugs/Bots notice light sources from weapons and when doing mission objectives that activate the street lamps. Anecdotally, I have noticed Bots turn towards me when I am hiding behind a LoS rock because I had my rifle light on and have noticed that if I shoot out the street lamps the Bug Patrols are less likely to notice as I turn on the power plant or evac Civvies after popping the lights that turn on. The last is in the 40 minutes evac, not the 15 minutes evac as the short one just breeches/dropships on a timer so no matter what you do on those, it doesn't matter.

    The ship tends to get bugged if you attack it, so that only one player can board it.

    In regards to dropping off someone's stratagem with the bubble pack, it DOESN'T work with red stratagems, they'll always go off where the beacon initially was lit, not where the ball itself currently is. You can see this easily with precision strikes because they're so accurate. However, blue stratagems DO track the ball (because the hellpod they are in can adjust), which means this may have very niche use in having a friendly stuck with a sentry stratagem that they can place very very precisely by dropping their pack instead of the usual way where sometimes the stratagem ball bounces off a wall or something and lands somewhere useless.
    Which makes me wonder, does the exosuit track the stratagem ball? It's not a hellpod, but the pelican drops it off, so it could totally adjust if it wanted to.

    Yes. You can shoot your teammates after they get on the evac ship. They can look around in a 'weapon drawn 1st person view' but they cant actually shoot. So they are defenseless (but shooting them in the ship drops their samples iirc and you can retrieve them)

    You can glitch out the ship by landing on it with a pod which will clip the model through the map for everyone else

    Fun fact that any stratagem with a blue light tracks and will fall right where the beacon is so you can kill bile titans and chargers or... teammates but the red ones will fall right where they were thrown it does not actuality track the moving beacon.

    7:00 Clarification: Blue Strats will follow the beacon when it’s stuck to an enemy or player, but Red Strats will always fall where the beacon first activated.
    So no, you cannot strap a 500 kg bomb beacon to your friend and have them kamikaze the enemy, but it would be cool to.

    It may have been a one-off coincidence bug but I flipped the evac shuttle over once with a 380mm barrage. It's takeoff animation was wonky at the start.

    I accidentally hit our Pelican extract with a 500kg, it caught on fire like this video, but it would not less us sit in it, we could dive into the open back but it would only let us crawl prone in there, and wouldnt take off. Had to just run out of reinforces and then it magically took off in the cutscene😊

    I was in a lobby just last night where 2 players used the mech suit to shoot at the pelican while it was landing. It got glitched and nobody could board. Not destroyed, just unusable. Then they called in a bunch of air strikes and killed the whole team. So it is plausible. Try the mechs while it is landing.

    If you hit Eagle with a 500kg explosion right before it lands it will start burning like in the video but also will land slightly off and you wont be able to use it for exfil (softlock essentially)

    The dropship can definitely be destroyed. Happened to me when I threw an orbital laser at a Charger and it died right where the dropship was landing. Laser burned through it in 5-10 second. Had to call in a second dropship and the mission had 100% strategen call in time, so that was an annoying 4 extra minutes.

    An interesting one with Pelican One would be if your drop pods from redeployment can move Pelican One. I had redeployed on top of the evac ship once and my friend and I had some desync. On my game, I got out and boarded Pelican One fine. On his game, the ship was flung 100M and upside down, stranding him because there was no way in. I ended up taking off just fine from the correct landing pad on both games though

    About the extraction ship not being able to be destroyed. I was playing with a friend before this most recent patch and we were messing around throwing stratagems at the extract. It made that fire effect as if it were destroyed and it wouldn't let us board, it just put up an invisible barrier until the mission was over and it flew off without us. I'm not sure if this was intended to happen or not, so my belief is that it was removed until further testing.

    Although the evac ship cant be destroyed it does tend to dissapear completely if someone revive lands ontop of it.

    I wonder if you can shoot the Bile Titan's leg joints from the top while riding it, they look like very small unarmored portions. Could be a crazy strat because although you're taking collision damage, the chaff enemies are not up there with you..... especially the hunters.
