Fabulous writing for strings! The performance and recording are excellent too. Each movement is wonderful but I do think the Intermezzo (8:02-14:06) is a remarkable piece worthy of special mention.
This CD would make an excellent introduction to the music of VW. The Partita is a truly sumptuous piece for string orchestra.
