It's kind of like how, in Part 4, Jotaro only gets 2 real Stardust Crusaders esque beat-down moments. Both of them are extra awesome because of the rarity.
I think he meant boasting when it wasn't certain that victory was within reach. Joseph started boasting because Empress was mostly solitified from the Coal Tar, unable to move, and literally like a minute or two later, was being held in a vice grip by Hermit Purple. Victory was basically guaranteed at that point, because Empress didn't quite have any way to fight back. And anyway, it had all been a part of Joseph's plan, more than likely.
thisisconfidentialsowhyareyoureadingthis? I'm rather positive Hermit positioned itself around Empress to avoid that. Had Empress not been covered in Coal Tar, and thusly mostly frozen and almost completely unable to move much less manage to bite Hermit, the likelyhood of Hermit getting bitten would have been much, much higher. But, still, only a Stand can hurt, much less kill another Stand, so Empress getting a bite in could have easily swayed the results of battle in it's favor. Biting Hermit MIGHT have been more trouble than it's worth, seeing as Hermit is absolutely COVERED in spikes/thorns. That's just my view on it and I could be wrong, though.

I really liked this episode mainly because it still showed that Joseph is still skilled despite his age and stand. When I first saw his stand and how he used it only for spirit photos that required a 30,000 yen camera that breaks I thought "That's it? Well that sucks" only to be surprised that episodes later he can use it along side his hamon abilities, use it on other things like tv and the ground to draw maps and use it to aid him in combat I was actually surprised. Joseph’s strength was never about being powerful, he prefer to outsmart and using trick/trap to defeat his enemies. To me hermit purple (a tool stand) fit his character and personality best
He wasn't strong. Joseph doesn't have a good hamon control like Jonathan or Lisa Lisa, and his stand wasn't made to fight. But he only needs to outsmart. It doesn't matter the strenght when you can outsmart the opponent. Best Jojo ever
It still kinda sucks though. He didn't see that guy disguised as Jotaro, even though he figures out Straizo instantly, and he was fooled by the Sun's mirrors, even though he did the exact same trick against Straizo

I was honestly confused as to why she died as I assumed it was a long range, autonomous stand (like Black Sabath who’s user was perfectly fine despite their stand getting obliterated)
this is one of my favorite episodes of Stardust because i got to see the real Joseph again, throughout the whole series he seemed like a different character, but in this episode it was like seeing how Joseph should have been portrayed the whole time, the fun genius trickster you outwitted people who had the edge on him, ripened with age.
thats because Joseph become a suporting character, if Joseph was shown like the part 2 Joseph but old the whole show then he probably be more popular than Jotaro. Same reason why Jotaro is on the sidelines most of part 4.
Joseph just lost his edge with time. He traded out his razor sharp skills at scheming in exchange for life experience which allowed him to lead the party all the way to Egypt. Even though he's their weakest fighter, Joseph is the leader of the Stardust Crusaders, and that's a huge accomplishment on its own.
"Behold, the power of my stand! RUclips Algorithm!" *Insert sound effect here* "Now everyone has it in their recommendations, four years after the upload!"
I think this is my favorite episode of part 3 so far. It felt like an episode straight from part 2, and the "your next line" trick coming back was so hype. I haven't made it to DIO quite yet, but as of right now Part 2 is still my favorite.
Joseph: You're going to say, "Stop, anything but that.". Enemy: Stop! Stop, anything but that! ....WAH?! Joseph: Heh! *Winks* BAM I really don't understand why he didn't have more moments like this in Stardust crusaders; yes he's old but his style of predicting their next line and having more moments like this where his experience does have that much of an impact would have made Part 3 so much better. I really disliked how they lacked more moments like this...
One of my favorite part 3 arcs. That throwback to part 2 is godly, especially with Joseph saying "if you boast about having already won you have already lost", it reminded me of his battle against esidisi. If he was like that all the time in part 3, it would have been a way better part but Joseph would have gotten all the spotlight^^
@@rmartinlopez98 That's why Jotaro is shoved off to the side for most of Part 4. Araki couldn't make him show up without kicking some serious ass, even against the main antagonist.
Stardust crusaders has the definition of a missed opportunity in it. One of the major side characters is an old man in his late 60s who was the previous protagonist. Later on the group encounters a man who has the power to reverse a person's age and they don't have thise 2 fight and revert the old man to how he was in the previous part
This is one of my favourite Old Joseph moments, the main reason being that this is where he really slips into his old self, you can see it at other moments too, but this is where I really see it shine through.
Joseph will always be my favorite Jojo for being goofy and outsmarting the outsmarting of his opponents, especially Joseph in Part 2, where he always predicts what his enemy will say next.
@3:34 I know this very well might be a fluke, but the way the added translation of "BAM" appears over Joseph's head makes me thing of Ceaser's headband from Part 2. Just something I noticed as it added a little something to what is pretty much Joseph's come back fight in Part 3.
Joseph gets another major victory in Stardust Crusaders, against Maria. Granted, Avdol "sort of" assisted with that one. His Hamon trick also nearly worked against Dio, had the latter not realized at the last second.
Monsterlord59, its actually explained that due to the appearance of stands, he had to find other ways to outsmart his opponents, and that means his best trick of the line usage couldn't be used anymore, though he finally got one off on a stand user
It's because Joseph learnt battle tactics in other ways. Stands are a relatively new thing for him, so he left that to his friends (who had more experience with the nature of Stands).
@@vaniljacob no no no hamon was also a new thing for joseph. He wasnt really properly trained for it until he met his teachers. Still he found ways to beat his opponents even though he was outmatched. Joseph knew about stands before jotaru so what your saying is nonsense. He was just too old and the writer nerfed him to make the new main character (jotaru) stand out more who has one of the most op stands in the series and yet joseph only got hermit purple. Had they given him a better stand and use hamon more often and actually made him like the young joseph ( like predicting lines every battle) Then people would like joseph more than the main character and the writer doesnt want that to happen
It's so very well done to show that he is still the same Jojo that he was during his youth, just with more experience. He's not a completely different character, there are moments where his youthful personality comes through, but he tempered it with experience and the passing of time. I would have loved him predicting Dio's next line at least once though.

I love that the colour palette changes when empress realised she’s been outsmarted, it’s same trick they used in battle tendency to show how disoriented and confused the enemy was and I was glad to see it return.
Ye
same
actually there's no "real" palette
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq I'd argue that the real color palette is the one that's used throughout the big majority of episodes
They never stopped changing the palette ever, it's a JoJo thing
I really liked this episode mainly because it still showed that Joseph is still skilled despite his age and stand. When I first saw his stand and how he used it only for spirit photos that required a 30,000 yen camera that breaks I thought "That's it? Well that sucks" only to be surprised that episodes later he can use it along side his hamon abilities, use it on other things like tv and the ground to draw maps and use it to aid him in combat I was actually surprised. I also got hyped where he finally screwed that boil over the second he guessed her next words that shit was funny
Floodrunner_ 20 Don't forget helping Jotaro cheat at video games against someone who can read souls.
Endershock1678 These were played for comedy purposes
You can use a single line from young Joseph to describe his entire fighting style: "You may have out smarted me, but I outsmarted your outsmarting!"
This is exactly why Joseph Joestar will always be the best JoJo.
Edit: RIP Unsho Ishizuka. We'll see you later, Space Cowboy.

More specifically the strength of their mind and wits.
Eh. Sometimes they just get lucky.
Except when it's Jonathan or Jotaro. They just overpowered their opponents most of the time lol
@@Ghost-bp7dp Which is why I loved Josuke and Giorno. I didn't like Jotaro's fights because it was just clear his stand was broken and overpowered with brute strength alone and the World just added to that power. this is one of my favorite episodes of Stardust because i got to see the real Joseph again, throughout the whole series he seemed like a different character, but in this episode it was like seeing how Joseph should have been portrayed the whole time, the fun genius trickster you outwitted people who had the edge on him, ripened with age.
thats because Joseph become a suporting character, if Joseph was shown like the part 2 Joseph but old the whole show then he probably be more popular than Jotaro.
Same reason why Jotaro is on the sidelines most of part 4.
@@astrophel12 Jotaro still did work in part 4 even more than Josuke it’s just that Araki didn’t want to make the previous protagonist op at the time
50 years can change anyone. Joseph was almost a teenager in part 2
People change with time, you can't just expect Joseph to stay the same forever. He got himself a wife, family, a kid
Joseph just lost his edge with time. He traded out his razor sharp skills at scheming in exchange for life experience which allowed him to lead the party all the way to Egypt. That's why Jotaro is shoved off to the side for most of Part 4.
And the japanese characters behind his head look like the ends of the headband like when he pulled them in bloody stresm
