It's already the middle of a strange season that resulted from an unusually mild winter! How do things stand with TMD?? www.themapledude.com www.smokylakemaple.com/mapledude
This guy's the Gus Fringe of Maple Syrup Production! 😂 Love the channel, love the ATV content, and I like how you show us how you make a living! Keep the Videos Coming!
Strange year for sure. Here in NE lower Michigan we are experiencing some of the worst Niter problems we have had. Even though we were collecting sap much earlier this year it seemed to act like a late season sap would and produce a darker syrup.
Just do that acid wash at the end of the season. Your already doing what your sending them away to be "professionally cleaned" for 1300$ save that money dude!
My guy... if that were true then they would be 100% going in to the cleaning service they aren't and come back better. Unless you're saying the place that cleans them is lying??
@TheMapleDude1 i dont know if they're lying to you. Just know a sugarmaker who was payed to wash membranes at Cdl st albans. We've all been doing our own acid wash and never send them in. After 5-7 years just buy new membranes. Or as needed. Check your own flows. Just a suggestion brotha

Paint cans??
Same here in N.E. Ohio. Very light niter.
Interesting that's the way it is there too.
I have not needed to use any defoamer this year?? Weird?
That is weird.
Not having a foam problem this year at all either
It's a good problem!

Interesting. Our syrup has been not lite but not real dark.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that barrel cart? Have a different one and would like to upgrade.
I think I bought it on Amazon.
Do you tap red maple or only hard maple
