the monuments were defaced by the Egyptians themselves. when Christianity came to Egypt- Kemet as it was called then- in the first century, the Egyptian converts to Christianity-The Coptic Egyptians- defaced the pagan symbols of their ancestors.
I doubt I will ever make it to Egypt, so I greatly appreciate "traveling" along with you guys. Love your adventures!
