You're starting to see why there's no such thing as a filler episode in Amphibia. Every character that has appeared always comes back one way or another. And there are still more to come. You'll see. It'll be fun imagining you guessing who's next 😂 The olms were kinda obvious, but Barry? Nobody expected it, and in a Toadie episode on top of that. It was a delight to see. He's such an underrated character. One of the many things I adore about Amphibia is that it uses real species. Amphibians are probably the least likely group in the animal kingdom that people talk or know about, so this show is truly an eye opener. I bet very few people even knew what an olm was until this show introduced them. You're right. Proteus is beautiful. But as for my favorite place. It's probably... no wait, you still haven't seen the episode yet. It's a tie between that place and the pond Anne took the Plantar's in when she thought they were dying from a disease.
If you love Jack McBrayer as Toadie, I highly suggest you watch Wander Over Yonder some time. He plays the lead character in that show. One of the most underrated cartoons of all time, and it's created by Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends).
Yes that was a VERY dark line for Disney! I can't believe they allowed that guy to mention eating ice cream for breakfast! Wow this show has a lot of good locations and I don't think I have given it enough thought to say for sure which I like best. But I had forgotten how cool this place looked thank you for reminding me to appreciate it again!
I liked the Anne Sasha discussion cuz how they resolve it but also cuz in this case it was Anne realizing she was being unfair to Sasha (who’s been fighting a literal war with these people)
Yes, Proteus is visually (and sonically) amazing and it's a little sad we only saw it a couple of times. But it's still a little strange to me that sasha was so eager to help these two olm frog-eaters even if she was really sympathetic to their story. Perhaps Sprig and Polly didn't tell her about the pile of bones in the twins' lair... Looks like there should be one duel between Anne and Sasha every season but now we finally get the right one, with mutual sympathy and respect and without hatred. Also, this is not the first time when Toadie has shown us his hidden depths - he gave Sasha some surprisingly wise advice in "The Battle of the Bands". Now we know that he is not only wise but also fierce😀
We ain’t done with character callbacks just yet Alycia, so don’t you worry. ;) Next week, we come face-to-face with the Mother of Olms for a pretty big lore dump, AND we’re getting a Sprig and Grime teamup episode.
Gonna take my snail to that olm town road and ride till I can't no more! Unrelated, have you seen Bee and Puppycat, Alycia? I feel like you'd love it! Also favorite setting is torn between the hilltop from the season 1 credits, it's helped by the ending credit music, and the plains with the robot factories while they were still dormant. I like my pastoral landscapes!
Would you possibly able to do Frieren (which is on crunchyroll with an incredible English dub) Or Delicious in Dungeon (which is on Netflix also with a great dub) I think either one of these shows will be extremely up your alley And you'll honestly love them And I'm not trying to stare you to anime but these are genuinely the 2 must watch anime of 2024

Newtopia is probably my favorite, way less giant bugs to worry about compared to wartwood. Also seems like there's always something to do.
