ENGINE TROUBLE...BY R.K. NARAYAN

Dear candidates…
I am sorry to inform you that
as per some books, it was mentioned that the protagonist sold the Engine to the Showman and got relieved of the troubles of it.
But, as per the original story, the Engine falls into a disused well due to an earthquake and thus the protagonist gets rid of the troubles he has faced with the Engine.
I was somehow misguided to adopt only the happy ending as mentioned in some books and not the one given in the original story.
Please, I request all of you to note this.
