I was first noticing the fire in the moss without a buffering surround and thinking to myself, hmmm, I hope he understands the dangers of forest fires, but then I saw him start the fire using friction, and making a fire inside the tent using the peak as a chimney and I've concluded that he must know what he's doing. Looks like a nice trip. I'm going to be cycling in Denmark, Sweden and Norway myself this spring. Happy trails!

Good job! I recently rode for 3500km & only spent $40 on accommodations (+food) & enjoyed seeing that touring can be done on an even tighter budget. The highlight for me was the photography of the caterpillars & other insects.
how long have you been on the road for the 3500km? next year i am going to start to cycle around the globe and i gave myself a budget of 5euro/day... doesn't matter where i am... i don't spend money on anything else than food (maybe water if it's necessary), over the oceans i try to hitchhike with ships, boats, cruises and anything else :) do you think i will be ok with this budget?!

hard to say. But I would rather go to Lapland Because there it is more relaxed but that's just my opinion When I was traveling in the south of France. I found it a bit stressful because of the roads and many cars

spacetoxicology123 this is very simple : as I sayed and showed in the video I was dumsterdiving ( finding food that is in the trash beside supermarkets) so it was for free but I had to eat that ever I find... so at this time I found alot of dumplings and some typ of butter ... together it was very tasty ... but somedays I found only bad food and it was sometimes not that tasty ... but I wanted to do the trip without money so I had to take what ever I found

When I built the bike from trash I took with me some free spare parts: The tubes etc. Also I found on the street broken bikes of which I took what I needed. My gearshifter I could not repair so I had to drive 400 kilometer only with one gear. I was just lucky the bicycle Did not break completely until I arrived at home

In Barcelona my bike was stolen with all things. But I was lucky and caught the bicycle kidnapper. You never know what's coming But be happy and meet nice people. Thank you! It was in august and september. I was lucky ... when I moved ....the bugs could not sting me. ;) And in september it was so cold that there was very little mosquitoes. But summer 2014 it was really bad with the mosquitoes in nord scandinavia. I recommend a (face protection) face-net and a good tent with fine mosquito net. Bug spray does not help !!! You have to get used to it. ....And always keep the food safe. Otherwise you attract bears and mice :D cheers jakob

Nomadic Fire Not strange at all. That's a sturdy bike built with respect. This was probably one of the best bike touring vids i have seen with all the dumpster diving, camping and hunting/scavenging and foraging you did. Hopefully you make another like this in the future.

How can you cycle 3500km for $40? Even just buying the food with enough calories will be more than $40 ?
No - $40 for accommodations + the cost of food (maybe $400). Slept in many wilderness areas, but shopped in grocery stores:-)

how did you fix your bike without money?
When I built the bike from trash
I took with me some free spare parts: The tubes etc.
Also I found on the street broken bikes of which I took what I needed.
My gearshifter I could not repair so I had to drive 400 kilometer only with one gear.
I was just lucky the bicycle Did not break completely until I arrived at home
And what filming camera do you have?

Ana M Chagas I think so. It depends on how you behave, where you stay, by which areas you drive. You must have positive friendly attitude and good karma and a little luck. In Barcelona my bike was stolen with all things. But I was lucky and caught the bicycle kidnapper. You never know what's coming But be happy and meet nice people. And be not too careless, but not too over careful. Be yourself then it will go. Nice Trip for you and always good Weather! 😃✌️

Man! This is really inspiring! Great journey and a cool video! May i just ask what time of year it was and were the mosquitoes really bad?
Thank you! It was in august and september. I was lucky ... when I moved ....the bugs could not sting me. ;) And in september it was so cold that there was very little mosquitoes.
But summer 2014 it was really bad with the mosquitoes in nord scandinavia.
I recommend a (face protection) face-net and a good tent with fine mosquito net.
Bug spray does not help !!! You have to get used to it.
....And always keep the food safe. Otherwise you attract bears and mice

Nomadic Fire Not strange at all. That's a sturdy bike built with respect.
This was probably one of the best bike touring vids i have seen with all the dumpster diving, camping and hunting/scavenging and foraging you did. Hopefully you make another like this in the future.
