This was Greece’s first generation of good team spirit. I remember it well being the countries first international tournament. Unfortunately they got scrubbed in the Euros group stage but it took another 20+ years and a new Greek generation to win the Euros. Great compilations of games as always. Great channel!

Delikaris not playing at the Euro'80 finals for Greece was like Cruyff not playing for Netherlands in 1978

Great generation of Greek Footballers but the 1969 Team was even greater missed the 1970 World Cup because of stupid quarrels between the head coach and the GOAT of Greek Football Domazos(who was too old in 1980 at 38 and Panagoulias didn't call him)

The bearded Delikaris was a real King of Dribbling.

Если не ошибаюсь, то для команды СССР (России) этот отборочный цикл был самый неудачный для своей истории: последнее место. А Греция,наоборот, блеснула и попала на свой первый крупный турнир Евро-1980))

No. The Soviets were always great. This particular team had some legends, Dasayev chief among them.
Chivadze, Bessonov, Cherenkov..This was a great team. Even though the results did not show it.

I don't mind b/w TV, if I can watch such great players, both foreign and Greek.
Besides, as modern TV proves, misery can exist in colour TV too.

George delikaris who created Greece goal with this great move, didnt play at the finals! What a loose for Greece! He missed many matches as a player of panathinaikos ,due to discipline reasons, and Greek coach Panagoulias didnt invite him

Thank you very much for the feedback. We had a mistake there. Although we are very careful about this, sometimes we can overlook it. We apologize for this matter.

@@axelfolie1654 An interesting fact is that the head coach of the USSR national team Konstantin Beskov did not call the Dynamo Kyiv players - clipper Blokhin, Buriyak and Bessonov for the decisive match against Greece on September 12, 1979.
