    If you wanna make plantains chips just get the green ones. That's we (Puertorrican) make them. Cut them like you did fry them, don't burn them leave them little raw then get them out , with a plate flat them, fry it again until they're crispy and salt and pepper or Adobo. EDIT: Okay, never mind... If your doing plantain chips, that is perfect ripeness.
    3:24 It takes quite a while for yellow plantains to ripen to a brown, so no one ever finds super ripe in the store cuz the stores never let them get that far. So that plantain you have is still gonna be starchy with a hint of sweetness.... I would've just subbed with a yellow banana for full sweetness.

I look at it as prepping veg's for the week. All of those items could easily be incorporated into other meals the other days of the week, making the $50 a great investment. The vegan parmesan I make is very similar to the one by Minimalist Baker, but I only blend the cashews (I use roasted cashews) and I also add lemon pepper and black pepper to it.

  • @ireneschuurman3655
    @ireneschuurman3655 Год назад

    That looks delicious! I actually don't think it requires that much work, just meal prep the quinoa, the zucchini and squash can also be fried off before and the rest is pretty much just chopping. I would make smaller portions, then you do have leftover ingredients but you can use it for other things. There are also a few ways to make it cheaper like using dried chickpeas (which I'd meal prep) and just leaving out the hennep seeds, maybe substituting the pumpkin seeds with sunflower seeds. Maybe also replace some avo with (left-over humus).
    If you want to get more into salad I recommend roasted veggies (like cauliflower), with a grain, a legume and some fresh veggies. Roasting veggies requires less actively cooking time and if you are in a hurry just use (wholegrain) couscous which is done in 5 min. There are even methods to cook grains in the oven so then it's only cooking the legumes and chopping veggies. Just add a nice dressing and done!

    I LOVE blowing $50 on a salad that I'll be eating all week. I'm not being an ass; I really do and I'll most likely make this. When you think about eating it that way you're not worried about the fifteen hours chopping and three days cleaning. Because you're only doing it once and eating healthy for a week. Also I should share that I usually have limited time to eat and I'm only worried about filling my face-hole with something besides pizza. Someone who has enough time to worry about variety may not be as enthusiastic. But YES, absolutely store disassembled, at least partially.
    But that other thing, morning person? Let me know how that goes. I've tried for nearly 50 years and if I've ever made it up before 10am on my own I've been so proud of myself. If you're already vegan like me, you'll probably already have most of these ingredients in your pantry/fridge so I can see why others see it as OMG it's too much ingredients. Yes, there is some work involved to make a great salad but with the amount of ingredients you're using, it'll be enough salad for several meals. I make salads with a wide variety of ingredients so it's never boring with the flavors or textures. I also top it off with chopped walnuts, pepinos and some craisins. Once you eat salads like this on a regular basis, you'll never go back to plain iceberg lettuce, lol.
