  • Itne interesting, u won't ever forget...
Noscitur a sociis, rules of Interpretation of statutes, topic for today.
Noscitur a SOCIIS is the secondary rule of interpretation of statutes, which means knowing by association. This rule is used when there is a word with questionable meaning or double meaning, to find its real use.
It is similar to Ejusdem Generis, another rule of interpretation of statutes, which means of the same kind. But in application both are different. Ejusdem Generis can be said to be an application, hich is much narrower then noscitur a SOCIIS.
So, I have discussed noscitur a sociis in details with examples, and also it's difference with Ejusdem Generis.
Hope u find it interesting and enjoy both. Only if it creates interest, it is fun.
Keep learning and keep enjoying learning.
