Where to find boletus edulis | Identifying bolete mushrooms

In the Pacific Northwest, different species of bolete mushrooms can be found from the summer months to the falls, Most boletes have relationships with conifer trees such as pine, and spruce. The can be found in the Washington coast to the cascade mountains. Avoid boletes that bruises with blue or black, they could be poisonous.

could these be found as far north as Bellingham?

Yes. We've seen people found them in BC Canada. We found ours at the Washington Coast at sea level.

They can also be found in Cascades in the higher elevation
