12:48 As a former chef at a Chuck E. Cheese, I can both explain the reason the slices never line up and disprove the “frankenpizza” myth. All pizzas need to be made to specific measurements and be done in a rigid step by step process. One of these steps is to completely cut through the pizza for every single slice (this is done so kids at a party aren’t touching multiple slices when serving), however you cut the pizza immediately after being taken out of the oven and the cheese isn’t fully set. This means that when you push the pieces back together, the melted cheese can slip underneath and make the pizza edges not perfectly line up.
Also the reason the pizza tastes significantly better than expected is because the dough is all made from scratch in store and the ingredients are not terrible. This concludes my Charles Entertainment Cheese Fact of the Day.

Little Caesar’s is perfect for when it’s like 4 PM and you have to combine lunch and dinner
The problem is there's a huge variance in quality with Little Caesar's, you could get a 2/10 or you could get a 9/10 and every Little Caesar's location is making 9's and 2's all day, every day. It's just the luck of the draw, I've had beautiful pizzas passed to the guy ahead of me in line and I'll get inedible trash four seconds later that was somehow made from the exact same oven with the exact same ingredients.
Their Italian cheese bread is so good that I stopped ordering pizzas and just get that and crazy sauce.
I still hold to the idea that Little Caesar's is peak cheap pizza: it isn't great by any metric, but they are consistently worth the $5-7 you pay for their pizzas.
I agree, working from 10:00 - 7:00 and not getting lunch... getting of work and getting a large pepperoni and a stuffed crust fresh out of the oven is divine. Or it's meh. But it's one of them every time.
Little Caesars is also the only good pizza to eat cold. Same with chuck e cheese. And the Taco Bell pizza is the best. I don't care what anyone says.
as someone who made pizzas at papa johns for 5 years, you made a terrible mistake ordering the stuffed crust. it takes so fucking long to prep the skins for them (yes the unbaked shaped pizzas are called skins) and so many people order them that they absolutely must be prepped well in advance. so by ordering stuffed crust, you almost certainly got dough that was sitting out, drying out, before being topped and baked. always order regular crust.
This is great tech, thank you. I will get my stuffed crust from Pizza Hut from now an, as per tradition.

I always order stuffed crust from papa John’s and have never had that problem.

fun fact I used to work at dominoes, and all schools in our area that ordered pizzas from us would always get the low fat cheese. thats why the pizza always tasted weird, it blew my mind when I worked there

If you ever see a ticket or your coworkers do, My old man shared me a trick he used to do is in his early 20s driving for dominos part time. He'd order 3 pizzas online at the end of the shift over the phone and so nobody would show up. During his real last delivery or after he'd clock out, he'd drop off Pizzas to the cops. Those fundraiser stickers for local police departments are massive too.

It was weird that of the three major pizza chains they only got a personal pan for Pizza Hut, but the Hut went downhill hard after they stopped doing buffets at a lot of stores. Domino's is better & cheaper.
I haven't had Papa John's in over six years, so I don't remember what it was like, but the fact I haven't thought to get it since maybe says something.

So glad they did Costco as well. Pizza is goated for a major chain. Domino's and Pizza Hut got you walking out paying nearly $50 for two pizzas and some drinks, for less overall food and pretty meh taste. Costco gives you way more food for $22 and it even tastes better.

Absolutely. There were some definitely outliers in terms of quality for Pizza Hut, Costco, Little Cesars, and Blaze (mainly just the chat ordered toppings for Blaze)
Costco and Domino's being a full tier above everything else is kinda crazy
Every Dominos I've ever ordered from has been perfect. Costco is extremely greasy where I am, it's like sucking an automechanic's gloved finger. It's not too bad though. Papa Johns is weird and definitely a whole different vibe from Dominos and, from my experience, generally quite mid.

The reason for the Chuck E Cheese Pizza not being full round is because of the tool used to cut it. The tool moves the slices out of alignment, unlike the pizza roller. And because recycling food is extremely illegal.
Dominos is S-tier, but I do enjoy some Pizza Hut every once and awhile, as it was the pizza of the 90's and it's very nostalgic for me.
I will die on the hill of arguing that Domino’s is 100% S-tier after the improvement they’ve had within the last 3 years. I feel like I remember it just being ok when I was a teen, but lately they’ve been consistently solid.

Fast food pizza doesn't hit the same way non-pizza fast food does, I don't think I can in good conscious put any of them into S-tier.... except papa ginos. They are clearly head and shoulders above other pizza chains and closer to local quality than fast food, but they are only found in new england so they're never on these lists

17:29 - as a Chicago native, it's nice seeing Ludwig's survival/business instincts kicking in - not wanting to be barred from entry to the greatest city in the United States, which still has vast untapped content potential since it's relatively free from the influencer saturation of LA.
Also normal Chicago pizza is tavern style - cracker-thin crust, cut into squares, green peppers, red onion, & sausage. Deep Dish doesn't hold up well over time, cooked to order at most restaurants (40min wait) - and imo should be compared to Detroit style, Sicilian, and grandma style since they have similar thick crust.

Something kind of hilarious about Papa John's is that as far as I can remember, it has always been a polarizing subject. All of the way back to when I first had it in the 90s, I had friends and family members that either loved or hated it. For no discernible reason, this pizza chain was the cause of turmoil on Friday night dinners.

Little Caesars is an S tier pizza. Cheap, decent quality, easy to modify if im feeling it; It fills the niche it inhabits incredibly well. Sure its not the best for quality but fir $15 I can get a medium peoperoni, a thing of crazy bread, and a drink. Thats like 2 meals, one if I'm feeling like pigging out. You cant beat that.
You can literally do better than that at Domino's or the grocery store and spend the same or less.

the funny thing about this video is that it has nothing to do with rating american pizza. not one of the pizza chains is even above D tier when it comes to like actual mom and pop pizza places with good recipes and their own sauce and hand made dough. there’s an entire spectrum of pizza in america and the chains don’t even scratch the surface.

This video made me realize how lucky I am to be from a small city that is affectionately known as Little Italy. Chain pizza joints don’t cut it here, we got tons of Mom and Pop pizza shacks here that use recipes that go back generations. It’s awesome. We’re just a small town in the middle of nowhere and I’d put our pizza up against the biggest cities in the world.
Same. We have a little Italy in Cleveland and theres some excellent old school family pizza shops. And tons od other local pizza shops around the city. I'd put us up against overrated NYC pizza any day

Actually we use both for measuring. Both distance, weight and volume can all be used interchangably based on context. Height of people is almost exclusively in feet and inches, for example. It's like we made an attempt to switch to metric but stopped halfway.
I'm just happy that each time I watch these types of videos, I get reminded that I live in Portugal. All fast food chains here that come from overseas are S tier, and they hardly make an F tier product.

Looking at the overall market, the same website says that the U.S. pizza market is worth just slightly less than all of Western Europe. The website does say the U.S. market is worth more than every other region combined though, and it’s not even close. The U.S. market is probably worth more than every country excluding Italy, Germany, and France.

As someone whos managed a dominos for a little over a year, we take being the fastest SERIOUSLY. Like, if you’re managing that day and your times suck absolute ass, you get REEMED out about not doing better. We rank every store and if your store is consistently in the top 10 in terms of speed, quality, and delivery, you get prizes like cookies and dominos clothing lol
