The best recommendation I would give you is to buy new springs and a original Floyd Rose and I promise you they will keep the guitar in tune for this type of guitar because that’s what I did with one of my guitars when I first got my guitar with a tremolo that literally sucked I replace that and I put a original Floyd rose on one of my guitars and it kept the tune very well
@@deludedreality89 I dont remember. The springs shouldnt matter but what does matter is the ring. They were different sizes than the duncan rings so I used the rings that were on the guitar
@Latushka Okay. I got a new L500XL and I'm planning on installing it into a Jackson USA. I wanted to reuse the Jackson's pickup ring, which is why I was asking about the springs.
I suggest watching the EVH guitar teck video on here for correct Floyd Rose setup. Also use the string stretcher he recommends, it saves a lot of time retuning the guitar with fresh strings installed. As I stated in one of your prior videos , always remove the pots prior to soldering. And throw those mini pots in the trash. Not trying to give you a bunch of shit, just trying to advise you as to the correct way to get LASTING results you can count on for years to come. From the looks of the solder joints your iron doesn't appear to be getting hot enough to properly melt the solder. Get a new one, they are inexpensive and worth the investment. This (lack of proper heat) could also be the reason your PRS pickup is giving low output. Or ovisoly it could be wired incorrectly...???? Stay safe, have fun. RR
I can set up a floyd, but I will watch it and see if I can pick up something I dont know. My iron was a cheap one I got uesrs ago but you're correct it definitely doesnt get hot enough. You have to hold the solder to it for 5 or 6 seconds before it melts. Sometimes longer. I actually went to go buy a better one on Monday but surprisingly nobody around here had one. I go back into town at some point and grab one.
@@Latushka ...... definitely, you can learn new things even from watching the worst repairs.....lol I've been working on guitars for over 45 years now and always pick up something form watching others. There are at least 10 ways to do the same exact thing, just need to pick which way is right for you.
Since I can't afford $3k for Dime guitar, I considered this. Getting the Chinese fake and stripping it of everything then building with real/quality parts. If the neck straight on your copy? or any issues?
Surprisingly the mirror guitar I ordered came with 500k pots in it. Neck is how it should be when theres tension on it. I put 10/52s on it in standard and it holds it fine.
You can now get a real Dean 1979 series ML with Floyd for $799 or the one with no Floyd for $569 . I got one of the new Dean 1979 series Cadillac and it's freaking amazing ! You can also find a used Dean select series ML for $600 or so and they have all top notch wood and parts ! Grover, tone pros hard ware and bridges, Ebony fretboard and custom made Seymour Duncan's stock for $600 is insane ! I've got a couple Dean select series guitars and they area insane ! So perfect in every way it made Gibson sued Dean guitars for the body shapes. I've got a Dean Explorer select series before the law suit and I see why Gibson was so worried, this guitar is perfect in every way ! Blows the Gibson away !

That is the plan eventually!
@3:07 it’s funny, how impotence and impedance can be so close yet so far 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
that guitar looks sick, so inspiring! i'm surprised you didn't oil that dry fretboard, though!
Yeah I didnt havent any oil for that but I do now..next string change Ill knock it out
Sounds awesome
When you swapped out the pickup ring did you also just use the old springs under the ring for the height adjustment?

It seems like a decent guitar. Dont expect a super nice guitar because its still a copy but its definitely a good template to work on
