There's a theory by Korean armys that Winter Bear means his grandmother who raised him for 14 years. Tae always says his one wish is to meet her and talk to her again. Although he did not exlpain the meaning of the lyrics, to me it's very likely..
In the lyrics tae asks the blue parrot (an extinguished bird) to come fly to see him. You can also see him KEEP WALKING BACKWARD, missing the childhood days when he was with her.
And as the bear should hibernate in winter, he aks her to "sleep happily", accepting the fact that she has to "sleep" FOR NOW, but he wants her to wake up someday like the winter bear to meet him again🙏🏻
*The movie he was inspired to write this song was About Time, which is about a man going back to the past to find his love

My grandma passed away when I was 7. She meant the world to me and I loved her more than my parents. But as I was really young when she passed away my parents didn't let me see her as it would affect me. But I remember watching her laying in a corner and I didn't even know what was going on.
And this song truly explains this situation. I hope wherever she is she is happy and is looking over me. I will never forget the carefree and happy days with her back then. I love you forever nani❤
Edit- I really believe when my grandmother left me in 2013, she sent BTS as my happiness and to keep me holding on to life and I became an Army when I needed them the most in my life last year💗✨

For those who don't know, this song is written for Taahyung (Vs) Grandma who passed away in 2016. He was not good in speaking English (cause it's hard for Koreans), so he said that everyone can enjoy it, he wants to write it in English with an translator. I feel you, friend! Recently, when I couldn't sleep because I was super stressed about finals, I listened to Singularity and Scenery on repeat and I was able to get to sleep.
Maybe it could help you, just playing Singularity, Scenery and Winter Bear on repeat. All three songs are just so calm and idk, I just think that there is something naturally soothing about Tae's voice.

My grandmother passed away in 2015. As my grandfather died before I was born all love I had received by her. She was world to me , she was so sweet and had always loved me . I still remember that day , I cried so hard. I can't get out of my head for 3-4 months and was crying. I wish I will again born as her granddaughter in my next life ❤️ I wish she will always be happy wherever she is.❤️
