Great fight and show of sportsmanship. Calderwood exhibited superb timing and head movement. Cummins showed great patience and resolve. Good show at keeping their conduct clean and respectful to one another from beginning to end.
Realistic Views - Because you cannot see the person whom you are talking to when you're on the phone and Joanne has such a sweet voice. It was meant for you to imagine Joanne's voice calling you on the tellie and telling you in her sweet manner (slightly exaggerated) that she will give you a thrashing within an inch of your life it you don't keep her name out of your mouth. (Or something to that effect) Now this is not supposed to be in real life, just an imaginary one. Only for the sake of finding humor in the idea of a finding a violent striker in an unassuming sweet person. It's almost as funny as a stereotypical person suffering from roid rage.
She's going to win the title. In my opinion she maybe only has two fighters to watch out for, Carla Esparza and Jessica Penne. But I'm in Joanne's corner all the way. She's everything a champ should be. She's reserved, calm, soft spoken, skilled, she takes the fight to her competitors, dictates the pace and not to mention she's beautiful. =)
CountStoczkowski I've changed my name for her to The Whispering Assassin. I think against Kagan she kept her hands too high which is not her style and didn't really left her strikes go. She'll need to be more aggressive in her next bout. Rose fought Kagan and didn't have as much of a problem. Of course Rose also lost to Torres. I think Angela Hill's potential is very high, but she fights Esparza next, and that boring fighter's experience should give her the win. Unless Hill stays on her feet. If Torres comes back because of Clark's injury she's got a shot. Penne's experience will help her, but she is a bulked up atomweight. Watch out for Rose and Daly.
TheInternetBully94 Great fight. Love to see them do it again some time. To me Rose is the clear favorite and the most talented. Watching snotty Esparza is like watching white wash on a fence dry. I can't stand her and her clique. The Assassin will whisper again.
Good god, I see in every comments section of a Joanne Calderwood video, hahaha. It's clear that you enjoy watching her fight. That's fair enough though, she does us Scots proud! ;)
Joanne Calderwood is such an excellent muay thai fighter( she is the best at muay thai but she learns grappling/ BJJ as well) and on top of all, she is such a sweetheart! She is very humble, down-to-earth, respects her opponents, very silent-so yes, she has an adorable personality!:-)))
oh man oh man! now that's a muay thai fighter! I really love it when I see a fighter who people says has Muay Thai experience that actually uses Muay Thai in mma.
Calderwood has a bright future in MMA. She is one of the smartest and most effective female strikers. She also has great ability to fend off grapple take downs.
really somebody talking so much sh*t about the people u train with and instigating stuff all the time i wouldve round house kicked Meisha... Meisha shouldve sincerely apologized for being fake and saying some much crap then maybe a handshake wouldve been waranted
Hugo Stiglitz No she doesn't. Sometimes you have to know when to take the high road and be the better person... even if others treat you like crap. By the way, that name can be spelled both ways in case you didn't realize which obviously you didn't.
"Anderson Silva, I hope you're watching because that's how you throw a knee!" Why don't you ask Stephan Bonnar if Anderson Silva knows how to throw a knee Mr. Announcer?
Now that's a knee to the liver. Compare to Ronda's to McMann. Ronda just connected enough to slow but not stop. This is what happens when really hit in liver.
Love this weight class. UFC definitely needs to get a Straw-weight class running ASAP. I'd love to see Atom weight, too, for fighters like Michelle Waterson. Joanne Calderwood is on fire. Her striking accuracy in the fight against von Plettenberg was INSANE. She's like a female Anderson Silva in that fight.
if you notice that when ashley gets knocked down by the knee joanne like starts to go like to the corner like if she scored a knockdown like in kickboxing, JOJO SHES AWESOME
That was such a sweet knee!!! So happy he will be in the next woman's TUF!!! 11 hardcore strawweights, in which the winner will be UFC CHAMPION! Feel bad for Esparza though.. He should still keep her belt.
I love to hear JoJo make a threatening phone call. "I highly recommend you grow eyes on the back of your head, love." "See ya soon!" "Okay? Bye for now."
After seeing the KO loss in her first fight, you're right to be concerned with the skills of calderwood. Hyatt's a little more aggressive though and will probably get the double leg.
What KNOCKOUT? He called it too quick, let her get the tko, don't just stop it when she goes down. Silva did the same thing to Bonnar and the ref didn't call it when Bonnar went down. It was over when Bonnar couldn't defend the punches. He's treating them like women, not like FIGHTERS.
"Called it too quick". Cummins had 3 broken bones under her eye. bleacherreport.com/articles/1702117-ashley-cummins-nearly-lost-her-sight-but-still-found-her-way-back-to-fighting Maybe YOU are calling it too quick?
ok maybe I'm just mixed up with my definitions here, but wouldn't that technically be a knock down? It didn't look like she actually rendered her opponent unconscious, she just hurt her badly enough to make her drop to the floor. I'm sure a TKO would have followed, but still.
Technically yes, but the rules say that if a fighter is unable to intelligently defend his or her self, the fight will be stopped. Calderwood showed good sportsmanship because she recognized that Cummings was too hurt to defend herself, and there was no need to land unnecessary blows.
Doesn't have to be hard, just has to be in the right spot. Watch Master Rafael Cordeiro's sparring highlights. He throws perfect knees, and he doesn't throw them hard, he's just so accurate. Haven't power doesn't hurt, but it's all about technique. Even though it doesn't look like much, trust me those knees hurt. Ask me how I know ;)
Wow ..... The winner almost touched the loser and she knocked her down for the count. If she had really touched her she might have knocked her out for three days.
Mr. Curiosity Many of these women walk around at 130 lbs. Have you noticed how some of these women in TUF 20 are having so much trouble making weight? Such a thing will happen, if not now, if not in two years, so then after. But such a thing is inevitable. It's how the history of fight sports works.
Leon Reaper It's part of the English culture to be politically correct, otherwise the English get ripped to bits, so they use the Union Flag. However there are exceptions, but Murray maybe only does a UK flag because Wimbledon is in London. www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jun/08/andy-murray-i-did-not-like-alex-salmond-scottish-flag-waving-wimbledon
It's strange to watch Calderwood. It really looks like she's not putting any power behihnd anything - no body weight behind her kicks/punches/knees. And then her opponents collapse.
+Jesus Marie bet her midsection muscles were relaxed and not ready for the shot either, cuz she's gulping for air when she's rolling around, classic surprise body shot reaction
Great fight and show of sportsmanship. Calderwood exhibited superb timing and head movement. Cummins showed great patience and resolve. Good show at keeping their conduct clean and respectful to one another from beginning to end.
I'm watching TUF 20 ep 1. I was surprised she was ranked #2, and I had to see her fight. I love her personality and her accent.
Her voice is so cool sounding, you wouldn't expect that softer kind of small voice and then BOOM she smacks you in the mouth! Win it all Joanne!!!!
Lowell Devall - She's probably doesn't sound very intimidating over the phone.
Realistic Views - Because you cannot see the person whom you are talking to when you're on the phone and Joanne has such a sweet voice.

I became a Calderwood fan when I saw her pull that kick at the end and show some real concern for her opponent. way cool!
Good job, Calderwood looks ver comfortable and relaxed. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
Next week on tuf her fight vs Rose will be aired. Cant wait to watch it. The stare down was epic. I'd say Rose by UD
Calderwood. The Soft Spoken Assassin. TUF 20. Can't wait.
She's going to win the title. In my opinion she maybe only has two fighters to watch out for, Carla Esparza and Jessica Penne. But I'm in Joanne's corner all the way. rose beat her

I love her! Absolutely, my favorite!
Someones not used to getting winded.
Another great Womens Fight. I will be cheering on Calderwood for sure!
Awesome Knee!!! Well in Jo! Love the 'I'd tell you what the corner are saying but i can't understand them' commentary!
Perfect place, timing and technique. Joanne's striking reminded me of Anderson Silva... very relaxed and precise.
Bosh, job done. Nice one Jo
Excellent knee to body KO. Thanks for sharing this.
go on joanne, great knee. Just seen this fighter on a ufc show looking forward to following her on tuf.
Joanne Calderwood is such an excellent muay thai fighter( she is the best at muay thai but she learns grappling/ BJJ as well) and on top of all, she is such a sweetheart! She is very humble, down-to-earth, respects her opponents, very silent-so yes, she has an adorable personality!:-)))

joanne is very modest and shows some amazing sportsmanship
It's quiet and innocent ones that you need to look out for hehe
Calderwood has a bright future in MMA. She is one of the smartest and most effective female strikers. She also has great ability to fend off grapple take downs.
Calderwood vs.Jedrzejczyk would be epic!
Soon, my friend. Soon. I predict that fight will happen in 2017 😉
UFC needs a 115 class to include JoJo Calderwood, Rose Namajunas, Paige VanZant, Tecia Torres, Bec Hyatt, etc. etc.etc.!
Take some notes Rhonda Rousey. This is what good sportsmanship looks like.
really somebody talking so much sh*t about the people u train with and instigating stuff all the time i wouldve round house kicked Meisha... Meisha shouldve sincerely apologized for being fake and saying some much crap then maybe a handshake wouldve been waranted

Livingston Hampton
LOL okay so where has Ronda's name ever been spelled with an H? did she change her name then? LOL
this chick is the future of women's fighting. best form i've seen from a female so far.
This was a great night. Calderwood was a beast but I wish you had the fight with livia.
Jo Jo seems like such a sweet girl on the tuf
"Anderson Silva, I hope you're watching because that's how you throw a knee!"
Why don't you ask Stephan Bonnar if Anderson Silva knows how to throw a knee Mr. Announcer?
Right??? I'm pretty Anderson Silva is the far better striker
Better yet ask Rich Franklin if Spider can throw a knee. After they're first fight Rich's nose was facing east/west.
I think it was tongue in cheek...
She's a true Muay Thai fighter. I notice alot of fighters claim to have Muay Thai experiance but rarely use it.
That knee looked so casual!
I didn't know Calderwood was that good. She just looks so innocent.
Now that's a knee to the liver. Compare to Ronda's to McMann. Ronda just connected enough to slow but not stop. This is what happens when really hit in liver.
Good idea. If he had waited a second more Sara would have been up & it would have been a great fight.
That fight should not have been stopped so soon
only one way that fight was going to go, Sara McMann did not have the skillset @@JrSlaya
JoJo is so gorgeous
Love this weight class. UFC definitely needs to get a Straw-weight class running ASAP. I'd love to see Atom weight, too, for fighters like Michelle Waterson.
Joanne Calderwood is on fire. Her striking accuracy in the fight against von Plettenberg was INSANE. She's like a female Anderson Silva in that fight.
Awesome stuff Jo
This was Overeem-Lesnar all over again, Calderwood looks legit.
if you notice that when ashley gets knocked down by the knee joanne like starts to go like to the corner like if she scored a knockdown like in kickboxing, JOJO SHES AWESOME

Joanne was landing it throughout the round but that lead left hook @4:42 was the beginning of the end.
my favorite baby..I love you
calderwood
Wow - Joanne has such a sweet little girl face. Also, a nice fighter - clean.
After seeing the KO loss in her first fight, you're right to be concerned with the skills of calderwood. Hyatt's a little more aggressive though and will probably get the double leg.

bleacherreport.com/articles/1702117-ashley-cummins-nearly-lost-her-sight-but-still-found-her-way-back-to-fighting
Maybe YOU are calling it too quick?
I just read that Cummins had to have a metal plate implanted under her eye after this fight! She broke 3 bones....damn Jo Jo!
Officer down!! haha
The Whispering Assassin.
Congratulations Joanne x
That left jab \ hook ended it before the knee. Took the fight right out of Cummins.
ok maybe I'm just mixed up with my definitions here, but wouldn't that technically be a knock down? It didn't look like she actually rendered her opponent unconscious, she just hurt her badly enough to make her drop to the floor. I'm sure a TKO would have followed, but still.

Pride of Scotland!
Liver shot , has to be the most painful place too get hit ever!
cummins never recovered from that lol
Nice one
Most dangerous MMA girl to me.
Please don't delete this list
Ooof, liver shot!
I would be scared to fight her!
knee to the liver nasty well placed and well timed knee
Birthplace, Age, Height, Weight, Record...
uh, why doesn't Invicta include Reach?
Is reach not a factor when women fight?
She's not too bad on the ground either. See her SFL 3 match vs Lena.
Ashley reminds me of Diego Sanchez when he's being introduced lol.
Knee to the liver, sweet!
I guess Joanne thought Ashley was gonna sucker punch her @6:53.. ha ha
damn that knee
I don't think Jojo barely broke a sweat, looked real slick but not bulletproof. Good luck lady
Look at Anderson Silva. Biggest skill to innocent looking ratio ever.
Joanne = The white, female, Scottish Anderson Silva.
Doesn't have to be hard, just has to be in the right spot. Watch Master Rafael Cordeiro's sparring highlights. He throws perfect knees, and he doesn't throw them hard, he's just so accurate. ha she was so close to throwing in one soccer kick at the end
Anderson SiIva to King Mo: that was nice u shouIda seen what I did to Bonnar
Wow ..... The winner almost touched the loser and she knocked her down for the count. If she had really touched her she might have knocked her out for three days.
Thats a World Muay Thai Champion knee, so far from 'normal' ;)
Joan! Bad!! Mo!!! Fo!!! Calderwood!
When was This?
what is with calderwood's hair?
Ronda is hiding in 135 from Calderwood!
Bosh! Knee of doom from JoJo! :-)
Damn Mauro, talking bullshit while Calderwood's hooks are ending the fight.
Joe Martinez boy!
lol...what are you referring to?
Calderwood has her hands down like Moe did with gracie,Stop the take down,
jo is really fucking big for this weight class
She's just tall. She makes the weight class.
CountStoczkowski
She has the frame to move up in weight in a year or two. I wonder if Rousey will still be fighting then?
Hel Gar But she is TWO weight classes down from Rousey's though.
Mr. Curiosity

I thought it was a knee to the head.....🤔
why do england fighters have the british flag not the England flag on their stats and on joannes it's the scottish flag and not the british one?
Leon Reaper It's part of the English culture to be politically correct, otherwise the English get ripped to bits, so they use the Union Flag.

well I'm doing mma and using the England flag. if they got a problem, fuck em
well going to, starting jui jitsu classes atm
Leon Reaper "if they got a problem, fuck em". Well said Sir. lol
Because she is from Scotland.
It's strange to watch Calderwood. It really looks like she's not putting any power behihnd anything - no body weight behind her kicks/punches/knees. And then her opponents collapse.
A very blurry video clip.
Joanne Cop Killer Colderwood!
@slamahammer: I think you're right! lol
well at leats Cummins know wat Sara McMann felt
UFC needs loads of female weight classes.
UFC needs a new weight class!
Solar plexus biatch!
+Jesus Marie bet her midsection muscles were relaxed and not ready for the shot either, cuz she's gulping for air when she's rolling around, classic surprise body shot reaction
