I think one of the reasons why platformer levels had such low standards is that he literally needed a lot of platformer levels to be rated, since there were achievements locked behind moons. Isn't it just fairly recently that we're able to get the 10k moon achievement? Over time the standards will probably get a bit higher, but I personally don't mind them being low as long as it's just a star rate. Creating platformers is also vastly different from classic levels, as you focus more on the mechanics rather than visuals, and they're overall more gameplay focused.
An editing tip: don't zoom in on everything you show. It doesn't make the video more dynamic or less boring, it just makes it more uninspired. If you would only zoom in on the things that are really important you could empower what you say using editing.
The mod he shall not name is Landon...he has been repeatedly sending levels that dont deserve a rate for some reason...most notable jdabeasty (zenothecheetah) levels
I dont think there's harm in these kind of "low effort" levels getting rated IF rob would rate more platformer levels in general. Cause right now, he rates platformer levels EXTREMELY rarely, only 2-5 per day in comparison to 30 classic levels.
when i first saw 10 levels of death i was gonna say smth like "this level looks awful" but i couldnt since i didnt wanted to hurt your feelings lol also can i get the base layout of the "star road" i want some creator points
I guess this could kinda stretch to Pixel levels, not insane ones but some are made with basically no decoration, and are rated, I’m not putting names but I kinda wish that the levels where put in because it was actually worked on, or time was spent making it
Of when you get 10 sends but nothing happens for months despite new ones. I have been rather unlucky overtime and the timings neither good. Rob doesn’t rate, rates only normal levels and not plat, gets missed in the sea of sends list goes on
While I do agree this is soooort of an issue, and that it happens a lot with room based platformers, its just a by product of platformer mode being a pretty new addition, take it as a new update on its own, its going to take a lot of time for it to eventually start raising the standards, and I wouldn't even say the issue is platformers being easier to rate, but more so the repetetion of gimmicks and decoration in these levels. I also don't really get what the point of bringing up Bollardills levels were, because to me those levels ARE pretty lacking in a lot of ways, so it just shows to me that its not really a problem with platformer levels, but more so in general with the rating system, and even then, I really don't see the problem with the standard being low since it allows for more people to get rated levels, which is something required for certain achievements in game, and its not like these levels get Epic ratings or anything, thats the whole reason as to why there are multiple layers of rating. Overall this feels like a non issue to me ngl
Why are we complaining about low effort room platformers? They are literally the most fun to play. Sometimes, we need to stop looking at basic rates as saying a level is good, we should instead look at it as rob saying “This is worth playing for a reward” “destroy the level” by serponge is a layout with a cool gimmick and fun gp, it got epic. tldr; room platformers are mostly rated for their gameplay, they are fun and easy for moongrinders, stop idolising stats in a game.
Im saying this because of their bland decoration, in my opinion, there is a reason why bland decoration with good gameplay most of the times doesn’t get rated, you need something unique Room platformers seem really similar and do the same exact thing which is why i compare them to nine circles. This is at least my opinion. Destroy the level has quite the unique gimmick, and it deserves its rate, but im focusing on room platformers which mostly are repetitive and most of them use the same gimmicks, some other room platformers might have unique gimmicks, but most dont, thats why I say this.
@@GDDNID I agree completely that room plstformers are repetitive. In fact, I agree with everything that you said in this vid. I just think; this is a game, and we’re arguing over a wrench with a number next to it. I do think the rate system needs to be reformed, but I don’t think it’s anywhere as big of an issue as some people make it out to be. Great video though :)
i feel like if we abolished the rate system we would probably get higher quality levels since then people would only make levels for fun or actual passion and love for this game but at the same time we would also have way harder time to know if a level is good or nought
I played a lot of levels, but the thing that kept popping up is room levels, the reason is that they are easy to make and they don't take that much effort to make which can result in people producing these slop levels for creator points. I do think rating standards needs to be easier for creators to reach but the room levels stack up ALOT. I cannot count how many room levels had the same boring gameplay, it's a lot really. Room levels reminds me of nine circles, they're easy to make, but they're repetitive, and so I think overtime robtop's going to stop rating room levels, it's just a matter of time.
well I get it, but I really enjoy Room levels and im trying to make my own right now! the thing is I suck at creating and have no idea what im doing :( im trying my best tho
You should probably subscribe because im back after my 3 month hiatus

I’m not mad that levels like this are getting rated I’m mad that better levels like my levels aren’t
That's so true. I support low rate standards, it's the unfairness that is so frustrating
Its quite inconsistent

@GDDNID Yea LOL it was insane meeting the bollardill members

I think rob should decrease the standards for all types of levels to make it much easier to get a rate
solution: make the community less elitistic so it's actually possible to get a rated level without simping for mods' attention 24/7
Shadys back, back again.
when i first saw 10 levels of death i was gonna say smth like "this level looks awful" but i couldnt since i didnt wanted to hurt your feelings lol
also can i get the base layout of the "star road" i want some creator points
I didn't want to put too much effort into decoration to properly do the tests lol
Also the base layout is publicly available on OneAndOnlyAce’s account!

what
Just saying for new creators it is really hard and most probally quit making levels

dawg I wish Rob can rate 1.0 levels because if he can in 2.2 then I would be happy :)))))))))
