The cruise control is on the steering wheel where it belongs, and the screen is integrated into the car as it should be. The SL Roadster does not integrate the screen into the dash of the car. Seems a silly reason to turn down a car just for the "tablet look" of the screen, but I did.

Great review! I ordered mine over the summer and picked it up in early October. I love it, however, there are a couple of disappointments. One, they removed emotion start. Two, the heated armrests only turn on when the heated seats are turned on. They could be activated independently in a previous S Class I owned. Lastly, and surprisingly, there are no "oh sh*t" handles in the rear. This is only an issue because the placement of the hooks for hanging suits, etc. is located on the back side of the B pillar, essentially rendering them useless because the seat and door do not allow enough room for a hanger to hang in that position. The handles are what I would use instead on previous vehicles, however, there aren't any in this vehicle so my suits are just sliding around either the back seat or the trunk area. Additionally, there is only one grocery hook in the trunk area instead of two. Very weird. First-world problems, I know, but these things can affect the ownership experience.
Enjoy the ride. I got the Cayenne S coupe instead of GLE63s due to the lack of Burmeister 4D sound system. That option has real nice speakers behind front door mirrors, ceiling & rear. My wife's GLS450 has it so why on earth did they not put it on GLE coupe? The Cayenne S was $149k loaded, a bit more than my budget but life is short and lets enjoy it as much as we can NOW!
@solaryatra you're right, the upgraded Burmester is great! The reason it has been unavailable in the GLE models is because they are at the end of a production cycle. Mercedes should be redesigning for 2026. That option wasn't highly purchased, so they likely didn't renew the parts stock since they are planning the redesign anyway. I was disappointed because part of the reason I waited to order a 2025 was because none of the new 2024s that were available on dealer lots had the upgraded system either. Oh well, I'll get it on the next one. Hope you're enjoying the Porsche!
@@drdamonmccune ---- The big problem with Porsche and Audi and Bentley are that they relegated the cruise control to a windshield-wiper look-alike stock hidden behind the steering wheel. Mercedes and BMW (as well as Rolls, Jaguar F-Type, Cadillac, Ford, now Toyota (even LC 500), and Corvette, and probably a lot of others) put it on the wheel where it belongs. I had my eyes on a Panamera, but passed, due to the CC placement (and bizarre activation and settings). I really can't figure out why the VW group "sticks" with popsicle CC, but my guess is some old fogey has to have it his way. I could understand if Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, and other hypercars decided to omit CC altogether, but for a luxury vehicle like Bentley?? Panamera?? On a stick?? An afterthought?? Really??!!
