Thank you so much! This is the first Rubik's Tower tutorial I've seen that actually tries to teach the viewer how to solve it, rather than just showing off. I actually got the thing solved, and feel like I might even be able to do it again.
I am currently stuck with the Middle section, I have solved it once without issue but now I keep solving the bottom layer but when coming to do the top (of the Middle section) there are 2 pieces oriented the correct way (In the video you say to put it in back right corner) I choose one and after doing the anti soon algorithm (sometime have to do it multiple times) the top half has 2 reds facing up and 2 facing the sides and I don't know how to fix this. Apologies if this makes no sense! Thank you
Hi Dave, there are many different situations that can occur for orienting the top layer, the case where you use anti-sune is just one of them. I take it that youa re not familiar with solving a 3x3 or a 2x2 cube? If so this is the problem you're having :) Those 4 pieces operate exactly like the final layer corners on a 3x3 Rubik cube, so rather than trying to explain it here, I'm going to direct you to my 3x3 cube for beginners video that deals with this part of the solve. Just remember that I have yellow as my last layer in the video, where you have red, and everything should hopefully become clear :) ruclips.net/video/we7MDyk3iKo/видео.html It's easier than trying to type it all here. I hope this helps :)
Great video...But I almost always run into the same parity with 2 of the middle cubies. I can solve 2of the 4 like a 2x2 every time. BUT the next 2x2 middle cubies usually (let me use colors now to explain) 2middle cubies solved with reds on top and green on right and yellow on left. THEN turn the cube over and there's 2green cubies on top with orange on BOTH their sides and the two cubes below are both orange on top with greens on BOTH sides. I hope this makes sense cuz it's driving me nuts. I've tried a lot of algs. That are successful on other cuboids but can't find the right one for this situation.
Hiya, sorry I'm not really getting what you mean. If you are solving the centre section like a 2x2 cube, there shouldn't be any parity, because it's a 2x2 cube, it doesn't have parity problems. Could you take pictures or a video to show me what you mean?
You are referring to an edge parity. The solve for that is: Hold the cuboid horizontally (length-wise) so that the 2 incorrect edge pieces are on the top, and closest to you, then perform the following - r' U2 l F2 l' F2 r2 U2 r U2 r' U2 F2 r2 F2 (where lowercase R and lowercase L means rotate the inner right or inner left independently of the outside R and outside L) . You can see this in the 4x4x4 example here: ruclips.net/video/aMgcU6PIUhw/видео.html
Well, if you perhaps ask about what exactly you're not understanding in my tutorial, instead of just implying that it is a bad tutorial, you might get some help with whatever problem you are having.
I know this is an old video but I wanted to thank you. I've been working on my son's tower and got it to the last two cubes. There's no way I could've done it without you
Well, judging by the comments left on this video in the past, and the fact that this tutorial was originally requested by one of my viewers, and the video has been viewed well over 50,000 times that isn't true It's very arrogant of you to assume that everybody else has either the puzzle solving experience, or solving abilty to be able to do it. Many people would come to this as potentially their first twisty puzzle, as it is widely available in 'regular' stores, not just specific twisty puzzle stores. I doubt anybody would solve it quickly, if they have no previous experience of twisty puzzles whatsoever, and many of thiose would go looking for help.
Thank you for this. I have several cubes and can solve all of them except this one. For some reason, when I purchased it, I just left it on the shelf. Your tutorial made it very easy to learn the solution.
Bless you, sir! I have been struggling for days to fix my daughter's new toy, and I have found a lot of VERY bad explanations on the internet, both in print and on RUclips. Yours was quite clear, and just slow enough that I could actually follow along with your moves. Thanks for the video!
Hi Marty, I have a question for you regarding the 2x2x4 Rubik Tower Cube. I currently have the cube in my collection but was wondering if you know if a "stickerless" version of this puzzle is made and how one could acquire same.
No worries, glad you got it sorted - but for future reference those of us that make tutorials do it because we want to help people - if you are struggling with something, asking for some help will normally get a helpful response :) We're not perfect, it's always possible that we missed something in the tutorial, but myself, and several others that I know of will always be happy to help if we can.
Okay so I solved most of the cuboid, but two pieces need to switch. They are directly next to each other and I’ve been using my 2x2x3 methods to get this far but never had this issue on my 223, help???
@@martywolfman No, I mean two. I've semi fixed it now, but still stuck. It's still not like at 9:25 still, and more complex. I've tried different patterns that I've come up with and other videos have. I can't exactly describe it well, so I may have to start from scratch
To be honest it sounds like you cube has had somebody take some pieces out and swap them. it's impossible to have two pieces swapped with legal moves on this puzzle
martywolfman No one has taken out the pieces, unless a family member has snuck in my room and done that. I’ve had this puzzle to myself since I bought it out of a sealed box, and the only people to have it were my friends and I watched them play with it. No one could’ve switched them, so I don’t know how I got that to happen
Thanks so much - only video on RUclips that actually makes sense!!! Definitely legit! Must watch! 🤘 🙏
great, i'm glad it was useful for you :)
yes this is the ONLY tutorial of all of them in 2017, that I learned to solve this cuboid. You Rock Marty!
Great, I'm glad it was helpful to you :)

+Cody Wright Awesome, I'm glad you found it useful. :)
This is a great tutorial. I like how the algorithm when you have headlights includes the algorithm from orienting the top and bottom!
+DanTheStripe Thanks, I'm glad you like it :) Yes, it's nice when that happens, it makes things easier to remember :D

Thanks man but can you put the algorithms in the description or written on the screen? It's hard to write them down so quickly.
i watched 3 tutorial and i combined all the algorithims and i do i solved it thanks for this i solved the last 2 layer
Why aren't there any good tutorials for this

It most certainly does.

My pleasure, glad it helped. Well done though for getting it that far! 🙂
ok, but 2x2x4 is really easy cube(tower) and i think almost all people can solve this cube with no help (imo)

Thanks for that man! Been working on this darn thing for 5 hours. Best video on RUclips for sure. Thanks a million.
I'm glad it was helpful for you :)
After I get the four red center pieces I can’t seem to get the yellow or green to match up with.
I’m confused
Can you solve a regular 2x2 cube?
Never mind I got it
great tutorial!
It didn't work for me. I scrambled it with the shape shift moves at the beggining. Now when I tried it didn't work out.
good I like friend
+aslamul islakh Thanks :)

Ken Johnson Hi Ken :) Nope, I've never seen or heard of one I'm afraid.
I know I'm late but I have bought a stickerless one online
Sorry I take that back this is actually the best one yet
I found out what I was doing wrong
Sorry

Show me a picture or a video of where you are stuck :)
