Vintage by John Varvatos is a Woody Chypre fragrance for men. Vintage was launched in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Top notes are Rhubarb, Quince, Pepper, Wormwood, Fennel and Basil; middle notes are Cinnamon, Juniper Berries, Lavender, Green Leaves, Orris Root and Jasmine; base notes are Tobacco, Suede, Balsam Fir, Tonka Bean, Woody Notes, Oakmoss and Patchouli.
Rooted in the original John Varvatos fragrance both olfactively and aesthetically, vintage is distinctly unique with a rugged authenticity and enduring appeal. It is comprised of a sensuous and masculine composition of the aromatic chypre family with an assertive spice core and a warm, leathery background. A brisk, spicy and energetic introduction gives way to an elegant centerpiece of Yugoslavian oak moss and extra pure patchouli oils. Its smooth and sensual base notes include rare woods, tobacco and suede accents.

I love the JV original. I wear it often. Vintage did not work well on my skin. It may be my nose, but it made me smell like a spicy vegetable garden..lol

It has changed. The newer version smells shit, the older one was legit. Literally my favourite. Idk what happened to these fragrances, but the one with silver cap used to be my fav. The newer golden one literally sucks.
