Smacznego
I think barszcz itself is a perfect soup for all winter long. With the help of that complex and garlicy flavor, it warms you up on the inside fast, raising appetite for the coming dishes. Bardzo dziękuję za ten pyszny przepis! 😁
Brilliant Channel, love your recipes. Many thanks for sharing. 🇬🇧🇵🇱💖
Babcia's uszki were malutki.
Omg that looks so good their is so many of these recipe I am going to try but not the carp lol
Loved the Christmas recipes. I have been giggling through them. For my parents' 50th wedding anniversary (Dec 20, 1989) the whole family gathered from across Canada (and it's a big country), and my older sister (48 at the time) decided she would cook a traditional 12 course Polish Christmas Eve dinner. By herself. From scratch. Sadly, she started Christmas Eve morning. And since 7 people had to be fed breakfast it was a late start. Even sadder, she was under the impression that all 12 dishes should be presented on the table at the same time. And worst yet, she prepared enough of each dish to fill the 15 people who were there for dinner. Let's face it . Enough time passes after breakfast you get hungry. So get out the chips, cheese, kielbasa, pickles. And then mid afternoon, the guys feel like a beer. And ladies, would you like a glass of wine? Only 2 children, they got pop. Finally, the feast is ready. The first soup is presented. We are starved, and more than a little bombed , and we gobble it up. Then I think there were perogies. Enough the fill everyone. And they did. She had sent me and my husband out to find a can of chestnut puree for one of her soups. She needed a tablespoon (really? you couldn't ad lib?) We never got to that one. I think we nibbled on a couple of other dishes, but really, we were all ready for bed by that time. After she flew home, I helped mom freeze what was salvageable. We threw out the can of chestnut puree. One of many times I thought about dna testing. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
OMG! Never again eh!?😄
@@PolishYourKitchen Heh, heh. I'm now 69 and my husband is 78. For us, a 12 course meal is a dozen shrimp on separate plates. And everyone else is gone.
Fantastic. Looks delicious
oh i remember we use to get together for christmas eve. my mamusia told me reason why 12 dishes it represented the apostles. but anwho my parents and gradparents passed away 8 years ago, they were the glue of the family. i do not have siblings so am just with my 3 adult sons, my small granddaughter. and my sons are dating chinese girls so they have their own traditions, kind of bites but just move on. i do miss the polish tradition. wesolych swiat
Definitely a labor of love!!
I think I will stick to making lasagna on Christmas eve!! 😁
Very interesting recipe though!!
Take care!!
This looks so good, thank you so much for the recipe! I can't wait to buy your book. I have a question: in the video, you just drank the broth... what do I do with the rest of the beets in the soup?
I’m trying to embrace my inner Polishness. I’m Swedish and Norwegian. But your recipes are just killing me. I NEED a recipe for red kraut juice. There is a northern Wisconsin company that made it - no longer available. Do you have any suggestions? I know I can figure it out in the end with my tiny fermenting experience. Thanks for all you do! Love it. ❤️ And I went to PolishFoodsDirect and ordered a bunch of yummy stuff, including the strong vinegar. Can’t wait,
HI Nancy! I'm not quite sure what red kraut juice is. I'm going to need more info on that if you have it. I'm glad you're giving Bacik a try, we genuinely like their products.
Where did you get your dough board (stolnica)? There seems to be only one source in the US; it’s quite expensive & currently out of stock.
Edited to add: haha
I stopped the video to ask the question. 🙋🏼♀️ You answered me as soon as I started it up again. 😛
It seems like you serve just the broth with the dumplings. What do you all do with the remaining beets?
The beets are pretty much done after that.
@@PolishYourKitchen Bummer, but good to know! Have a safe and happy holiday!
@@KyleReevesSci I’m making another soup, seems like all together I’ll have enough for quite a few days ☺️ anyhow, here’s another easy polish beet soup recipe 💕 www.thespruceeats.com/polish-beet-borscht-soup-recipe-1137127

Looks delicious. Can you come to my house and make this with me? ;)
