This is a very raw, honest read. Not my sign at all but I appreciate the way you spoke about how hard a decision like this could be. The more you talk about how complicated the lovers are, the less I want that kind of connection in my life. It sounds awful...like 80-90% mental and emotional suffering with just a few moments of joy or transcendence interspersed lol. Perhaps I'm exaggerating, but I can't imagine how anything like that could be considered worth it. Maybe when 2 people are very young and are more tolerant of that kind of drama, but I can't think of a single adult couple I know that I would consider lovers' status and still managing to make it work long-term (I'm sure commenters will come out of the woodwork to tell me they have a lovers' connection that's all figured out lol). I prefer a relationship where 2 people consistently put the work in, even if it means there's less electricity.

That's what I had done and I'm just talking about my experience, over time opting for an easier connection has left me feeling like something is missing on a soul level. Yes, on paper, we have a great relationship but....

@@turquoiseopalfruit thanks for your honesty. There’s no perfect bond, but I would guess there’s a lot less suffering in yours than in a lovers connection. I don’t know if that can make you feel any less dissatisfied. Even for me as someone who values personal growth and development over everything, I’m not sure I could rise up to the level that the lover’s connection seems to call for, so I don’t know that I could expect that of someone else.
