I see your comments about the scoreboard! The game puts the scoreboard in the top left for 'MLB Network' games lol. Really annoying. Will move my facecam to the top right for those games going forward! 😁
I think you should kind of play it by count, that's what you're always taught playing baseball at a competitive level. Two strikes = shorten up, look for contact, but when you're ahead in the count 3-0 or 3-1 think about a power swing. That's what I've always done just off my baseball IQ, but I try to use normal swings in most counts since you get a good balance of both. hope this helps!
@@andrewclouse2912 yup, and in 3-0 or 3-1 counts IRL I’ll choose a pitch I’ve seen already and just sit on it. if he gives me it, I’m geared up to hit it. If not, automatic take
@@jongeorges8380 you definitely can get homers on contact but especially on higher difficulties the exit velocity difference is not worth it to me. you’ll find yourself getting really good swings and popping out more often and I hate that
9:50 When you first get called up the team covers a hotel for a week, then they have a player liaison guy to help you find somewhere to stay. If you have a lease on a place in the town where you played for their affiliate then they can cover the cost of that too. A lot of players stay in a hotel past the first week because they might get optioned back to the minors. The default for salary payments is twice per month and if you don't have a guaranteed contract then you get the league minimum on a pro rata basis as long as you're with the team.
Ideally for competitive play you only want to use contact swing. You can still hit a ton of home runs and I would suggest trying the strike zone batting view.
Contact swinging works really well if it's tougher to hit (low, away etc) otherwise I use normal swing unless it's up or a really good pitch then I power swing
yo trev, if u ever feel like ur struggling i suggest trying like strike zone hitting camera, i use that and it helps me tremendously to see the ball and pitches, although u are doing well, just if u find yourself struggling
I’m late to the series so I’m only at this episode you might’ve figured it already but if you look to the left of your batter when you’re at the plate it shows your power vs contact swing to see which one is better for your current situation based on the throw hand of the pitcher you’re up against. That’s what tells you when you should use contact or power. Or at least that works pretty well for me 🤣 great series though
Hey Trev! I love all your videos and rarely miss one. I just don’t comment much. I play franchise more than road with the show so I know I’m user real players and not players that you have to build up so much, but the 3 longer home runs I’ve hit in this year’s game have been hit using contact swings. You can still crush the ball with contact and you actually increase your chances of getting on base. I’ve started doing power swings until I have 2 strikes against me and then use contact. Certain situations, I will also use contact instead of power.
You should check the main roster and see if they got you listed as a LF or SP because I think that maybe the reason you may not be seeing the fourth and fifth pitch option because if the have you listed as a LF not a SP or RP then your pitching is secondary to your position in LF
If you're interested in the comparison between clubs and pitchers for the game it should be able to be accessed when you're launching the game from the clubhouse. You'll automatically see friendship bonuses but you can scroll through and see the stats
I power swing on a favorable count like 2-0, 3-1. I normal swing earlier in the count like 0-0, 0-1, 1-0, 1-1. I contact swing when I have two strikes against me. Depends on the situation too, because baseball is a game of percentages. Keep up the great work.
I only contact swing, never power swing and I’ve hit plenty of home runs in my road to the show. One even went 450ft. I honestly think it’s the way to go
from the past show games I always hit with contact and was able to hit dingers. Definitely helps with the begging of playing in the MLB. If the contact is perfect, it will go out.
Personally, I feel like the contact swing is best used in 1-2, 2-2 counts. Almost like you would in real life. Kinda like choking up and looking to stay alive and make contact. And for the power swing I would use it in hitter friendly counts like 2-1 3-1 or even 3-0
I'm in my second year of the majors, and 80% of my swings are contact swings. I get most of my base hits, RBIs, and have also gotten home runs off my contact swings.
Bro I hit a pitcher right on the logo on his hat that was the first time I’ve ever done that in a couple years of playing and he got taken out of the game with a bruised forehead lmao😂
Always throw to the bad ahead of the runner. If he’s at second throw to third. Also if you don’t know where to throw use the cutoff which should be L1 or LB depending on which console you’re on
Hey Trev why does the facecam cover half of the info in the top left. Also contact swings are good for getting those solid base hits. I like doing them if I’m lead off hitter especially just to get on base.
So something i dont understand...I only ever get radio broadcasts on this game xbox one...I never see them talking on a tv is it a setting or something im missing??
Yeah work on your normal and contact swings. The power will eventually come. Work on opposite field hitting too. It'll make you a much better and dangerous hitter
Change your "perk" to the contact swing one and just grind it to diamond. Once you get it to 70-80ish you'll hit homeruns with contact swings on a perfect swing
I mostly contact swing so I can keep my on base percentage and batting average above average and only use my power hitting when I know it's a perfect pitch to knock out the park
I see your comments about the scoreboard! The game puts the scoreboard in the top left for 'MLB Network' games lol. Really annoying.

Your right two strikes is when you choke up and just make contact.
Contact swing is just as good!! I eve you level it up it will be very similar to power swing! You will still be able to hit homes runs and such!!

I use contact swings with 2 strikes or if I need to clutch up and HAVE to drive in runs
I need to know how you get that view while you’re bass hitting. When they make contact I can never see where the damn ball goes
What are your settings? I cant get my camera to look how yours does for fielding and baserunning
trev i recommend stike zone 2 for hitting and use didi gregorius batting stance youll be hitting 10000x better
I use contact swing about 80% of the time and hit homers often. Halfway through the season and I have 22 home runs.
i mostly contact swing. i power swing only if i guess the pitch. once your power gets higher you’ll be able to hit homers just by contact swinging
Stick to normal swing, but use the contact swing when you need to get a hit or drive in a run.
Love the series trev keep it up
Move your face cam so we can see the game score

Hey Trevor can you move the camera to the other side. Would like to see the score

How do get your camera angle to switch to an over view when your on base and a teammate gets a hit!?
