To the point, and easily understood. I am glad you addressed about printing out the script in larger font so that one doesn't have to put on reading glasses.
Your great John , I appreciate when I can listen to your encouragement. As much as it Sounds ridiculous I never fully understood what side reading really meant. I was just told to read anything but not how to do it properly. It’s encouraging to learn this is something that can very much be improved upon.

Then do it, dont think or talk about it, do student films, any am0ateur theatre or school stuff, anything, lost of it. That's what successful actors have all mostly done.

Thank you. This is invaluable. I am in the legal profession. Often I'm called upon to speak publicly from a script of sorts or using the dreaded Powerpoint..Rather than merely "reading" directly from the script or slides, I use your techniques, which makes for a more fluid and indeed more human presentation. Dozens of very, very experienced actors, hundreds of politicians, and thousands of priests, have been trying to learn this for years, but not keeping at it enough to become expert, and wondering why nobody Likes listening to them read! Sorry to sound harsh, but this isn't for beginners, as it needs to be studied until the 'beginner' gets advanced work. It is an advanced skill if practiced enough. John Windsor-Cunningham

Just like reading music. You don't concentrate on the script. You scan. Bits that your brain recognises. The rest is just intuition.

Age isn't the main issue, although yes, it helps if people can start young, but being an actor is rarely "easy" - and this exercise only clarifies one of a thousand things one has to learn, and the competition for jobs means one has to be brilliant at it! John Windsor-Cunningham

I feel very inspired after watching his videos. But how do I convince my parents that I want to be an actor, not an engineer? I am totally interested in drama and theatre.
I cannot answer such a deep question in a few words here. ok so im a bit confused.I was taught to hold my script in left hand only. ??
Well I dont like to disagree with any other teachers, but I dont see why the hand you hod a script in can matter, especially as in the way I show here nobody would be able to see my hands if I held the script lower, or the camera was nearer - they would not even know I was reading!! My point is that whatever hand you use you can read well and keep your eyes UP. Sorry if I wasn't clear. John Windsor-Cunningham
That reading in a short period of time was so difficult, can you just practice that with reading books?

Coming from a us born actor, the British have a much better understanding of how to act I’ve found.
Not true, - well, sorry, I mean I disagree. British people are impressed by American actors and the other way round as well. Both countries produce wonderful actors, but of different styles because their use of language and what their films are about are different. Both can be good. Both can be rubbish. The point is that all actors, from any country, simply have to work incredibly hard or they will be dull. That is what makes acting good, not where they are from. John Windsor-Cunningham

God question, because it's a stunning speech, said by the character 'Cromwell', in the play A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS by Robert Bolt - one of the few playwrights around whose choice of words is CLEVER, INTERESTING, FUNNY, WISE and WORTH LISTENING TO in a world where people who can't SPELL Shakespeare are doing 'translations' of it! (It's near the end of the play). Try and get into a production playing him and you'll feel like a God. John.

And finding people who want to be 'B' - (or like the other stars who have managed to do good acting in SOME of their work, and not be ruined by unfriendly directors) - is impossible as I'm still working on my own problems!
