can we also appreciate the fact that Scott does some pretty cool camera shots from down in the grass to him just standing still then you walking out of frame and the magic leg up spin ;), minor things but still makes it a good vlog and loos so cool!
Wonderful event blog as always. Lovely to see your Mum looking well It seems like fate you didn't sell Kato. After Zeb he is my favourite ❤ With Zeb getting older you need a horse to ride you can absolutely rely on and depend on x country, keeping up your confidence and riding skills while you develop your two young horses, which are not quite at that stage yet.
@@ashleyharrisoneventing it takes time to really develop a horse carefully and properly. Your two young horses are awesome, and you are giving Errol the best possible education by building a solid foundation slowly but surely, and not rushing him or leaving any holes in his learning. This time next year you will be successfully competing three horses again 😁
i love coming along for rides with you and your horses ashley! your vlogs are a whole other level of fun and thrills!! kato is such a sweetheart also, i love him!! 🥰💖💖
Love your positivity and focus on Kato and everything he did well. Great job and result and as ever fabulous team effort. So enjoy seeing you out eventing (on the vlog as I live abroad).
When I watched your xcountry round I thought you rode so well, you were riding faster and into the fences you rode on some good forward strides so much more confident! Kato really tried hard and sometimes it is difficult for bigger horses to jump especially when they chip in but he really tries. He looks after you and loves his job, you did so well Ash! :)
Grand job all of you! As to the dog's trim back as a horse-mad kid in the 1960s-70s I saw something very like that called a trace clip, was used for harness horses.
Ashley top riding on a top (my fave) horse, Kato. You are absolutely right, you are getting better and better each time you both come out. The video footage, narration is top marks also, best horse channel on YT by a country mile, loved every single second of this event vlog and look forward so much to seeing you all so much, I learn, I swoon and even laugh, be proud of yourself Ashley, be proud.
Great riding as usual and Kato is a superstar! Love how this is a family affair and you all muck in, except Harry, who does the dog daubing (v important though), but he made me die with that bum thrust 😂 x
You did great! The ditch brush looked like the stuff of nightmares... (I was a tween first time I saw a photo of the Burghley one... something-leap. I had nightmares off and on for a couple of weeks about it).
That Properly made me smile! Well done, the big guy is so honest cross country and made mincemeat of that huge palisade ditch! An inspiring watch as always, congrats on the 11th place🎉🎉🎉🎉
He’s really settling into his job this year. Except for those silly dressage flowers, he didn’t look at anything. Even the two stadium jumping poles that you had down were close calls and could’ve gone the other way. He’s really becoming a professional. So much fun to watch the two of you. I agree with what another commenter said. He’s going to be your reliable cross-country machine very soon. If not already!
He did better this time! He really seemed to be listening during SJ and I agree he seemed very strong thru XC too bad about the flowers but those hops were awfully cute 😄❤️❤️
great job Ashley!! I thought the whole day was great! It's been lovely and hot here too (Calgary Canada) this summer which I love, but I'm not competing lol!
Well done, you two make the huge cross country jumps look easy! Just one thing I’ve noticed in many of your show jumping rounds, you pull back on your reins on take off and only then move your hands slightly forward. I don’t know if this is an eventing thing; I’ve been doing straight show jumping for almost 30 years now (showing my age), and I never see regular SJ riders do this. We move our hands forward up the horse’s neck on takeoff (and over the jump) to give them maximum use of their head and neck. I’m just wondering if this is maybe part of the reason you have poles in SJ? Rewatch some of your show jumping rounds in slow motion/take screen shots, and you’ll see that your elbows are actually behind your body as your horse takes off. Just wondering if that might be making it harder on your horses to produce a nice bascule to clear the jumps. Like I said, I don’t have a clue how to ride cross country fences properly, but this is just an observation from a long time show jumper. Perhaps giving your horses a more generous release over the SJ jumps might avoid some of the rails you have. Mostly avoiding the pulling back on the reins on takeoff. Just a thought to maybe help you avoid pulling rails. You are a great rider, and are definitely way bolder than I am; you couldn’t pay me enough to jump those huge solid fences. Love your horses too. Definitely superstars! Cheers from the US.
Great xc round. He just needs to get a bit more careful with his feet most of the time in his show jumping. Cracks me up when you keep saying how hot it is. Our temperature today is 28°.......... in winter! To us 30° is a normal average day.
??? I think this is one of your poorest rides.... your looking down and have him on his forehand in the dressage and he looked rushed and short and choppy. The show jumping, you looked like you were really chasing him and rushing all your fences... it isnt timed, his take off spots where all over the place and he was flat on some fences.
The wisdom of the keyboard warrior enhanced by poor spelling and grammar. I'm sure she'll be rushing to you for lessons. If only you weren't anonymous.
