I've said it before, the Family Dollar in this town is a horrible mess, and it's been many years since I shopped there. I walk in and walk out every once in a while. It is not worth my while.
Good morning Danno! I don't shop at Family Dollar. The ones around me are awful! The store is a mess! I will stick with Dollar Tree. Thanks for going though and checking it out.

Sadly this is the only option for our small town of 800 on the Reservation. We have to go 40 minutes away for a small variety of options. We will stop for toilet paper, if they have any. Or pop ect... but unless its on clearance its a no go for us. Scary they seen to all have shelves that are half empty. Even worse over state lines in NM.😮 thanks for the walk through. My daughter was a manager for 2 yrs. They NEVER have stuff in the back. They get weekly deliveries and hope it will fill the shelves.
Danno, Thank You for all you do for us.. You actually made me pay attention to the change in taste of some foods... I have noticed the change and color of apple cider vinegar... My eyes are open now.A lot of the stores you shop at are not in my area..Wish we had even a Kroger or Meijer
My Family dollar is stocked well from clothes to baby items to health and beauty. Tons of paper products, seasonal, etc. People are friendly and although some prices are higher , alot of brand items are cheaper there than other stores

We have a Family Dollar next town over that has great customer service and has good deals. I've been to others where people act like I should be grateful they showed up for work. I get that the employees have no say on prices, but I'm more likely to shop and spend more money if I feel appreciated as a customer and if the employees will help me have a better experience.
We have a nice store here too. The employees are very helpful. Last year my husband placed an on line order with the help of an employee and then she called when it came into the store. Very easy.

Hi, Dano. All of our family dollars closed. We only have dollar tree and Dollar general.
We have Family Dollar and Dollar Tree in the same building here in Kentucky. Half is Family Dollar items and other half is Dollar Tree items. It’s always clean and pretty well stocked
hi Danno!!!!! I quit going to all of the Family Dollar stores here in central Florida because they always look like that. You have to hunt for everything and can't et down the isles. Even Dollar Tree stores here look like that. If there was a fire, I would be trampled and would not be ale to get my walker through the isles to get out. It is terrible.
We always buy our charcoal at Family Dollar when we need it. They also have cute seasonal yard decorations. Have a great day Danno❤✨
I haven’t shopped at Family Dollar in years. There are better stores in my area with the same products available at a much lower price.
I think Danno keeps going to Family Dollar out of nostalgia. We used to have 4 FD's in my general area. 3 of them were on the hit list, so only 1 left. I still don't see myself going there.
Update.. before the cough small kitchen appliances was between 10-15, I bought a lot of them appliances from there back in the day..
I'm talking way back..LoL
They had a sale years ago around Christmas the used them appliances as a door buster $5..

Our FD is still open but the store has a big For Sale sign in front of it!!
I live near a nice Family Dollar, and it’s always clean and my preferred store in my small town. It’s not perfect, but I will go there first before anywhere else. Customer service is very friendly. It’s really big enough of a store to put Dollar Tree in, and I hope this store isn’t one of the 900 or so that’s closing.
The Dollar General (across the street) is smaller, more cramped, and customer service isn’t up to par like others I visited. I usually go to the Dollar General Market that’s about 5 miles from my house. They have more stuff and much better customer service.
There is news from a few days ago about dollar tree possibly selling the whole family dollar segment.
I wouldn't be surprised if they close it all and just put everything into dollar tree.
I would be happy if that happens, as long as they turn our DT/FD combo into a full size Dollar Tree!

I keep forgetting about our F.D. But last time I bought chips ahoy cookies they were almost a year out dated. So check all dates. Plus store is very clean and stocked.
I’ve probably only been in 4 or 5 Family Dollar stores in my life. We have several in my town and the towns around me.
The savings just weren’t there for me.
It is dollar general that sucks! And the customer service sucks too here! Damn!

I have been forced to shop at Dollar General since it's fairly near my house and my car was in an accident, waiting for parts so I don't feel comfortable driving any further. I found the Clover Valley milk just undrinkable, tastes horrible to me after being used to what I usually get, King Soopers (Kroger). There's nothing fresh there, and the only frozen stuff is the cheapest pizzas. This is in tiny Bailey, CO so I imagine stores in other locations have more... I saw something really weird in the parking lot, and it reminded me of a comment in your Dollar General video, that DG is gross and disgusting- there was a HUGE dead (thankfully) cockroach, and I thought, where in the world did that come from? I've lived in CO almost 40 years and have NEVER seen one! Before that I lived outside New Orleans and they were everywhere. The DG in Bailey is at a high altitude so they were probably brought here in a delivery truck. My first reaction to that comment was well, some people are just snobs when it comes to where they shop, but now I think they have good reason to be!

😢i had stopped going to family dollar and dollar general months ago. Your video inspired me to check out some of the stores today. For me, I found stores a mess, shortage of items and employees, and high prices. SOUTHERN INDIANA.

The Family dollar by my house has been opened for years but couple months ago they shut down that was sad. I’m in PA

I dislike that store but love dollartree. Wish they hadn’t merged.
I heard that Walmart was going to do away with the paper shelf stickers and getting ones they can change digitally. How true that is not sure

The only reason the shopping at a dollar related store would be worth your time as if it was closer than walmart

I get things at Dollar Tree (not Family Dollar though) that are NOT available at the other places like Kroger, Meijer, Walmart. It depends on what you shop for grocery wise. I am retired and love shopping the best prices and (for the things I buy) Walmart is rarely the best price on those. I will concede that things you purchase might be cheaper there. But not for me.
We have a dollar general. It's not cheap.
Family Dollar is a little hit and miss. I hope the store you visited turns things around. I went to my FD this evening and I got exactly what I needed. I can’t say the same about the week that I went when closures were announced. Morale may have been down but it appears my store is going to stick around and stay well stocked.
I believe Dollar Tree put out a statement that said of the 1000 Family Dollars stores that they are closing, they are converting about 600 of those stores to Dollar Tree stores. Not sure when they will start or if that will still happen.
Was a time .that time is about over. They are hurting. And that hurt will be passed on to the consumers.

Dollar tree strawberry preserves aren't to bad. I bought some from Ocean state Job lot and it wasn't as good.
Haven't been I n years. I do feel bad for those who do, and so many are closing.

I would think that with the prices we are now paying stores like family dollar and DG would be doing great, and they would be if they were the same as they were a few years back. like you I find empty shelves and prices sometime equal to or more than meijer.
I don't shop there unless it's the only option. I know we can do better elsewhere. Dollar General is the same.

Who would want to buy The Family Dollar Brand after Dollar Tree has picked its bones for the best locations and talent, one of which is local to me. The Glencoe MN Family Dollar is now a Dollar Tree and was in dire need of a refresh which they now have and obviously will not appear in a portfolio for sale.
My suggestion would be if you work at Family Dollar, first Thank You, secondly perhaps looking for another job is in order.
I’m just a little confused that Dollar Tree would say they’re not afraid to part ways with Family Dollar when they just opened FOUR brand new combination Dollar Tree/Family Dollar in my small town within the past year. Either they’re trying to make things work or this is the weirdest, most toxic business relationship ever. 🤣😵💫

I am not a fan of Family Dollar or Dollar Tree. They both are awful around me. Nothing is ever stocked and they are a disaster always.
How can you make money if nothing is on the shelves?
I really hate stores closing from any chain. Pretty soon there will be only a few chains to shop at. Less choices for us
