    So I'm Croatian and I've never been in Istra until this November. My hotel was in Rovinj and I've also visited Pula and some other cities. First of all I'm impressed by Istra how clean it is and i felt like I'm in another country, specially how Rovinj is clean and beautiful. To be honest I like Rovinj more, I'm so amazed by it.

    @theamerikanka Zdravo! I’m a fellow black American girl (married to a Serbian man from Kragujevac), and we’re moving to Serbia on Monday from the Middle East. Any advice or recommendations in Belgrade or the surrounding areas for restaurants or attractions?

    • @amerikanka
      @amerikanka  5 лет назад

      whats up love!? how exciting :D ..what were you guys doing in the middle east?!
      my best advice is to check out the blogs:
      www.bellegrade.com
      www.belgradecat.com
      www.stillinbelgrade.com
      they have so many food and restaurant suggestions and always update what cool events are happening and things to do in the city. Also, I would check out Belgrade Foreign Visitors Facebook group because there are so many expats and locals in that group to help you with very very specific questions.

      The Amerikanka thank you for the advice! We were living and working in the Middle East, but we’re in Serbia now. We arrived yesterday. I’ll check out the blogs. Thank you for your reply!

      @@amerikanka Rovigno, the city was built by Venetian-Italians and you can see that from the Italian architecture. In the census of 1910, the 97,7% of the population was Italian, then croatia put this region under Slav occupation but they never existed in this part of the world

    • @igorcvekify
      @igorcvekify 3 года назад

      97,7% you say?
      Could you be so kind to share with us your precious sources of knowledge?
      Because if you refer to the census of the Habsburg margraviate of Istria (and you do) the percentage of the Italian population in 1910. was 38,1%(Croats 43,5%, Slovenes 14,3%, Germans 3,3 etc.).
      After that you boldly claim Slavs never existed in this part of the world ...and that is a big lie again.
      In other posts you claim Istria was part of Italy for 2000 years - again a huge lie.
      I am sorry if facts hurt your feelings, but Istria was and still is multietnic and multicultural.
      Btw. you are not representing Italians from Istria, you are here just to fulfill your hate propaganda.
      You are just a sad ignorant lying nationalist, disrespectful of other etnic groups and cultures, a person with difficulties accepting historical facts and reality - once people like you were called fascists.
      The best i can say to you is to read more and hate less.
      Have a nice day!

      @@igorcvekify "His Majesty has expressed the precise order that action must be taken decisively against the influence of the Italian elements still present in some regions of the Crown and, appropriately occupying the posts of public, judicial, masters employees as well as with the influence of the press , work in South Tyrol, Dalmatia and on the Istrian coast for the Germanization and Slavization of these territories according to the circumstances, with energy and without any regard. His Majesty reminds the central offices of the strong duty to proceed in this way with what has been established."
      (Franz Joseph I of Austria, Council of the Crown of 12 November 1866])
      maybe now you can understand how you came out with your presence in Italian territories

      There are at least 4 other censuses: 1900.(40%), 1890.(37%), 1880.(39%) and 1846.(33%).
      You have all the data online.
      Those were rigged too?
      Btw. there is a census done from Italian authorities in 1939. after a 2 decades long massive and forced italianization and they barely arrived at 54%. Are you saying that your beloved Mussolini administration lied too?
      Again, please refer to your source, tell us where can we check the 98% you are claiming.

      Opa :) People say "Opa" in Pula? That's interesting. :) I know things are busier in the summer, but I actually really love croatia more when there is less tourism. But Pula, maybe I need to go back. Is it crowded in the summer, or just more busy?! I love Pula so much

      @@amerikanka well, hot spots for younger people would be around Pula - you know like good beach clubs etc. (Hidrobaza is nice beach now near Štinjan area like 5km from Pula). As for tourism I agree with you, but Pula is def way better with people in it and that timing is now. Specially during Film Festival week, this 10 days is great to be here or during big british music festival Outlook and Dimensions that are happening at the end of August (specially if you love reggae, bass music and soundsystem). Yeah, we say opa a lot. Not sure why. :)

      You are putting words in my mouth that i never said. I don't hate Italians.
      Anzi, io personalmente gli Italiani li adoro. Per andare al sodo, caro Davide, sei proprio tu che contamini i commenti di un video puramente dedicato alla gioia del viaggare con la tua agenda politica piena di odio, miti nazionalistici (neofascisti), basata su dati a dire poco "alternativi", basata sull' ignoranza della storia, demografia, geografia, cultura....e per finire anche di matematica e logica.
      Lascia stare, ogni discussione basata sui fatti non ha senso se l'altro discutente è ignorante dei fatti e preferisce perpetuare la via dell' odio.
