They really ought to design the back of the chair with better lumbar support

when the chair is coming up, how far above the tub sides does it go? i ask this because my daugther has a hard time getting off the edge. if the chair is above the sides, it might help her to stand more easily....when she is sitting on the edge of the tub with her feet on the floor, i have to pull her to a standing position because she has very weak arms and has a hard time standing by herself. i thought maybe if the chair is higher that the top edge, she might actually be able to slide off to a standing position...

It depends on the depth of the tub but in this case, it rises a couple of inches above the lip and the slide yourself on / slide yourself off flaps make easier access. I hope this helps.

So it worked when I bought it but now it won't go back down, any ideas?

The lift won't go down if the battery power is too low to raise the chair again after the bath. If your batteries in the hand set won't hold a good charge, they might need to be replaced. Contact the manufacturer. I hope this helps.
