The fentanyl-gun comparison is a false equivalence.
If everyone killed by guns was because of suicide, then you'd had have a fair comparison.
Not only that, but most gun violence is perpetrated by certain groups who obtained their guns via the black market. Stolen guns with serial numbers scrubbed off. So we, the law abiding people of the U.S., should give up our guns or have “restrictions”, while gang members and undesirables stash their supplies and continue to use them against those same law abiding citizens? How about we actually do something about gang violence and the mental health crisis, and oh yeah, close the borders to illegals….?

More than half of gun deaths in the US are suicide including my daughter last year. There are virtually no gun deaths in UK, only knife deaths. Again almost all committed by criminals, not law abiding citizens.

Guns are a tool that can be used for harm or protection, depending on who is using it. Fentanyl, outside of a medical setting, cannot be used for self defense or the defense of others, it can only be used for harm. That is the difference.

Regarding the guns, it's not the people who own them legally who are responsible for the vast majority of the deaths from gun violence.

In the 1st Arab war, the Arabs were supposed to be the saviour of the (Arab) Palestinians from the evil UN partition plan. Looks like Israel has done a better job of saving Palestinians in the last few months than the Arabs did in the last 75 years.

I wonder if this magnanimity goes beyond Judaism. I don't recall anything as explicit as this in the old testament. Like Jesus takes a step further to say 'love your enemies.' Israel has no obligation to save the Palestinians who voted Hamas into power. Yet Israel does!
I think this view might be unpopular because unfortunately Israel doesn't have that many vocal defenders who are non-Israeli & gentile, so Israel is just humbly saying as a matter of fact that they're not committing war crimes. In regards to the princess of Wales. In the beginning, I thought she had been for a hysterectomy only because of the time spent in hospital and the time she needed for recovery with past experience. On photo gate. It was a picture of her and her children. That is her property, and she is at liberty to do with as she wishes. The photo was only posted to stop the Internet trolls trolling. If they can all honestly say they have never edited a picture of themselves well, they deserve a massive round of applause. Now we hear she has cancer. The news broke at the time her children were out of school for their holidays, which in a way was good to shield them from the media circus that desended, but why should they have had to. These are children, after all, royal children but still children. How would people feel if their children were violated with every single step they take. Its wrong. Leave them alone until they are much older. As for the state of their marriage, I hope they are very happy still. Leave them alone. They are not our property they are human beings that hurt as we do.
I had previously considered hysterectomy as well. Due to my own experience. The Princess didn't think it was cancer when she went in for surgery. The pathologist report obviously showed it was. I don't understand why people refuse to give them some privacy. Such a lack of compassion.

When the government in South Africa decided that the general population was not allowed to own guns, and everyone had to hand in their arms to the poluce, where the guns were destroyed, the death rate from gunshots did not go down.

Ben is smart but I do think his "morality" views are not helpful. His views on freedom, democracy, and that which good people can agree on are helpful, however, when he starts up about same sex marriage and other critiques about the lost culture wars, he is wasting his brainpower. The world has changed and religion will not be what it once was. Conservatives must understand change happens and ride that wave and advocate against its excesses. That includes the wisdom to understand which battles are most important, which are winnable, and which are merely creating dissension. Ben has a job to do as he is a profound advocate for the Jewish people. When at this time he starts quoting the bible against same-sex relationships, or even his endless ranting about abortion, he is wasting precious time. He will not change any minds on either at this point, whereas a case for Israel and the Jewish people is sorely needed as Israel's public relations to the extent there have ever been any, were terrible. Ben can help win the PR war which Israel has been losing for decades but in so doing, he needs to stop emphasizing the culture war stuff that is already lost which turns people off.
