I have a long black 100 percent wool coat that I love and I've had it for over thirty years. It's never been out of style and I wear it every year. That is why I especially love classic pieces. Me too. My double breasted black wool coat has been in my closet for many years, and I bring it out each winter. Good quality basics never go out of style.
My husband and I took a trip to London and when at Herrods he brought me a wool and cashmere long navy coat. We were newlyweds at the time. What a special memory and a beautiful coat that I have worn for years. He’s a keeper- my hubby- but the coat is too! 😮

Such a beautiful inspiration, Gemma!!! I have a wonderful deep red silk dress, which is made from my grandfather (born in 1906!!) , who was a tailor, for my mother! It is still gorgeous 😍!! And still a classic, timeless fit! It doesn't fit me anymore, maybe I will bring it to the tailor (ore lose a few pounds😇) I will never give it away!

style is a matter of opinion. I have recently watched a few different "stylists" - some push products, some come across as "preachy", and some present the information based on the title of the video. I decide what works and doesn't work for me - I wear what makes me look and feel amazing.
I do have a long camel coat. My neighbour gave it to me as it no longer fitted her. I feel very fortunate because it's Burberry and gorgeous.

Already having all my neutrals in long, wool, winter coats, I recently indulged in a beautiful red one from Banana Republic, my go-to brand for tailored items. They use 100% wool and breathable linings and their coats are top-quality and fairly priced ($400-500 US). Of course, I didn’t make it out of the store without also getting a gorgeous matching red knit dress. I love their red color, it’s neutral to slightly cooler-toned, which suits my coloring much better than this season’s ubiquitous warm, tomato red. I only stopped in the shop or a minute for a quick button repair, but ended up also buying a beautiful ribbed cashmere turtleneck. Fortunately, with 40% off for Black Friday, and a credit, I didn’t dent my wallet as hard as I might have! I only wish we got snow here in San Francisco to wear my red outfit in! Rain will have to do. The only time I ever saw it snow here was in my 31st floor office, but at ground level, it was already melted to rain. No brand affiliations, just an average consumer who loves high-quality, natural fabrics and tailoring.

Where I live (NYS- north east), especially during the winter, I never wear jeans. My choice of casual comfort and warmth are corduroy pants. Lots of color choices and styles available this year; straight leg still and straight.

i have a black wool coat that was my mothers. she estimates she obtained it in the late 50s early 60s. it is double breasted with gold buttons.
sadly it no longer fits but i just can’t give it up.

I love camel coats! How do people was their leather trousers if they are spot clean only?
As a golden blonde only the cream amd red do I wear and I have them already. Not inspired this Fall yet to buy anything at all. Black is a wash out color for fair blondes. On you it echoes your hair and is perfect. I do wear a navy blazer, my version of black. Camels, cream, cognac, medium warm brown are my fall basics.

It does, it's a tie waist belt / coat, I just don't tend to tie coats around my middle

Nice mix and match outfits but I counted 17 items excluding accessories so not really a 10 item capsule.
I counted the jumpers as 1
I can't imagine that camel coat going the distance without a lining. It will spoil your lovely cashmere jumpers. I have a camel Max Mara it is now 25 year's old and is fully lined.
I liked the Faux leather, however, I live in California, and we have extra environmental safeguards than most of the rest of the world. When I am checking out online, there is a warning label for all these PU items. It does give one pause.
I love turtle necks so much, but unfortunately, even though I’m very thin, my under chin area is very unbecoming. As soon as I put on a turtleneck on, I look like I have 13 chins! Curses!

Faux leather lol plastic is nasty and cracks. I’ve seen it on people. Looks awful. I have a pair of black real leather trousers that are 35 years old and still look great. Stop wasting money and creating garbage
