Living in the Buffalo area as a kid in the '70s, my brother and I would watch Parlez-Mois on CFTO-TV, Channel 9 (in Toronto, Cable 8). To this day, thanks to the late great Marc Favreau, we can still recall basic Quebecois Francais, even though we never studied it in high school (we studied German---I found German MUCH easier to pronounce and speak). Revisiting Sol le Clune in these episodes is a hoot and a delight! Merci beaucoup pour les episodes!
I know this Sol series very well! It was made in the late 1970s by TVOntario (a.k.a. TVO). I remember it being played as reruns in Ontario in the 1980s. When I started teaching French in 1996, there was a VCR tape with Sol episodes at my first school. I still have a blue teacher's workbook that contains cartoons of the sketches in the series, including all the dialogue.
As strange as this sounds, I stated watching this show the summer of going into my 3rd grade year in 1986 on the Tryon/Asheville, NC PBS affiliate WUNF Channel 33. I don't know why I started watching it. Possibly the clown. But what was amazing is that I subconsciously started to learn it without recognizing it. Sadly when they pulled the program off the schedule, what I learned slowly went away.
Bonjour ,j'ai vraiment adoré cette magnifique série ,je suis un apprenant de cette langue difficile sur le plant de la grammaire mais elle est belle coméme, bon courage à tous

I think this is how i discover Marc Favreau and the caracter sol, because i think i whas too young when this caracter become famous in sol et gobelet on radio-canada! - Je croit que cela est par ce tout d'émissions que j'ai découvert Marc Favreau et le personnage sol parce que j'était beaucoup trop jeune quand ce personnage est devenu connut dans sol et gobelet télédiffuser par radio-canada!
Bonjour Alberto, Sol speaks quite an international French. Besides, French grammar is pretty much the same on both sides of the Atlantic. The accent and some words are different, just like British and American English. To reply to G-A, the dialects are actually getting closer today, as the young generations travel more than their predecessors. Enjoy Sol's videos; they are indeed a good way to learn French. I am a native French speaker, I have been teaching French for over 30 years, and I use them in my lessons.

I know this was made in Canada. So, my question is, it is recommended for learning the french of France too?
It was made a while ago when the dialects where much closer than they are today. This is a funny and simple way to learn French. 👍
