Although there is no justification for cheating, I kind of feel like she was trying to protect herself because she felt like Nick was going to leave her again, which he has done twice before. Its pretty self destructive, but i could see how she would rather fuck it up then let Nick leave her for another woman.

Nick didn't cheat in any way. If he ended up having feelings for Andy then his feelings for Gail weren't strong enough in the first place. Gail should've confronted him about her doubts instead of sleeping with someone else. I hope he makes Andy happy.
ok nick did not physically cheat but he did chat emotionally and even admitted to in the webisodes, My opinion is that emotionally is worse but really cheating is cheating and both need to take responsibility and own their own part.

Lots of people get a crush to someone else while in a relationship. There's nothing wrong with it 'cause nobody's perfect. It is really rare to find someone who has all the qualities you look for in a person. And it's not cheating. Nick said that he was willing to wait the crush to go away but Gail made her choice.
I disagree with everyone that says Nick cheated to , he didn't make a decision to have feeling for Andy. Gail made a decision to sleep with someone else.

i totally agree! you could almost see from the start that's what she was trying to do. she wanted to push him away and hurt him before he could do it to her! you are also right in saying it is self destructive but at least they were honest with each other in the end! i really really hope that they get back together in the future though!
yes gail did something stupid but she felt insecure and honestly i agree that nick did cheat emotionally and lied.Im not saying what Gail did was right but i do get it. In a way im glad they broke up because I dont think they were ready to be together but i think they will find there way back to each other over time
The fault does not belong only Gail. Nick left her twice at the same time Gail realized how was he looking to Andy. One more thing is that Andy was not like a person to sleep her friends ex. The season 4 clearly showed that writers should make up their minds! Except season finale, all the relations were complicated. I cannot handle Marlo, Nick even Chloe and her problematic husband.
