We’ve never managed to see Bob, we’ve always run out of time. We love Boma, only ever been for breakfast never for Dinner, your meal did look nice.
We are going to try it for breakfast soon and go back and see Bob again next week
It's worth checking to see if they have the Boma tour available. I've done it many times but I'm not sure if they brought it back after the world shut down. I heard they did but you know how Disney constantly changes. It starts about half an hour before the restaurant opens for dinner. No reservation needed. It's FREE! Ask at the restaurant or front desk to see if they have the Boma "cultural tour". That's how they listed it on the resort activity sheet. They tell you about the architecture and also the culture behind the dishes. They give a sample of soup and a zebra dome. Sometimes they also take the group over to Jiko and give a free bread service with dips at the counter with the big wood fired ovens. The chefs are there to answer questions. It's about 20-30 min of a tour with treats and really nice. If you get the bread service at Jiko provided, it's enough food for a light lunch all free.
Also, the alcohol in the zebra domes is called Amarula. That resort is the only place I've ever seen it. I get it on the rocks in the lounge above Boma. It's like an adult chocolate milk. Rich but a nice dessert/bedtime treat! Order a double!
We sometimes pick up a pack of zebra domes down in the quick service too if we have guests visiting. It's a fun treat to share. They have 6 packs.

It’s great knowing Bob, first saw him back in 2009. The interaction is amazing with his fans.
The food court is out favorite resort one. We’ve stayed at POR 5 times now..
Boma breakfast is 100000000 times better than dinner. Best breakfast on property.

We always stay at Port Orleans Riverside saw Bob in January and we will see him on our next stay August 2025 how he changes from one type of music to another is so random I don't know how he does it. I love that he always gives you a shout out, we have seen him there for over 20 years.
He is a wonderful performer, I do not know where he gets the energy from

Looks really fun to see Bob Jackson must add to the list of a place to go on next visit. We had dinner at that Buffet when we came with our daughter at Christmas week and I don’t think I got my monies worth but Andy did. I loved the lodge but the restaurant was too busy and noisy for me.
We will be going to try breakfast next month

You have to be selective where you spend your cash. Drinks are a lot cheaper in the locals bars

We’ve been to Boma a few times for breakfast and Dinner since it opened in 2001. Makes me laugh when Americans open restaurants like Boma and make up recipes, claiming they are from African Countries 🤣. Bobotie is a South African dish but is nothing like the dish Boma have created, same as Durban Chicken 🤔, POG juice (served at Breakfast) is from Hawaii and peanut rice from Southern India😁. Most of the dishes are international and not African, which is a shame because there are so many lovely dishes from Africa that they could have on their menu. I was brought up in South Africa (Durban) and it’s sad to see the African countries mis-represented. Breakfast at Boma is good but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s typically African - Enjoy.

You are in a similar stage of life as me and the wife. We own two houses. Our income is well above average, but there is no way we could afford to live your lifestyle, buying Teslas, eating out all the time, etc. You want to be very careful with how you spend. Maybe it's none of my beeswax, but I dont want to see you on your uppers. I've seen it happen so many times.
If you watch our last retirement budget vlog, you will see how we are managing things and making changes to our lifestyle
@ThemeParkBazza it's impossible to effectively manage and rein in a budget when you are eating and drinking out several times a week. Also some of the people you meet are on vacation, by virtue of this they are in spend mode. I guess the income from RUclips sort of helps things, though.
Err yes, that’s exactly what I said in the vlog . I assume you completely missed the bit about the $100 per week budget for eating out ?
