Our rookies look strong, I had a feeling that Hukporti would show his potential in preseason. Kolek was a home run pick. Across the board we are solid top to bottom. Great time to be a Knick fan.

Hukporti and Kolek were great! I'm starting to believe that both are good options to the rotation.
We don't need no more trade for now, we need to see what we have and how the team look on till the trade deadline so we don't mess nothing up.
Hukporti is a mix between Hartenstein and Robinson. He's way more active and fluid on the court with a great measure of intensity that makes him more reliable than Sims. He should definitely be Robinson's back-up.

Facts!! I don't understand the Simms love... Seems to be a great guy, probably the most athletic guy in the league but it just doesn't translate to basketball... HIs basketball IQ is so low that it affects every possession
Sims been with team for past 4 years. Knicks has seen growth of IQ, RJ, IHart, Grimes, McBride and Obi. They have all done great and Sims is still languishing on bench as 3rd string 5 with no potential of going beyond his ceiling. If Huk plays well remaining pre season games, Knicks should definitely start him as the back up C so they don’t need to search the trade market so desperately for a back up 5

Honestly sims got better beforw this season and is better offensively than hukporti since his ability to set screens is a little better and it helps the small bench lineup we have
Sims seems to have the ingredients but has no intensity and seemingly little interest. I hope he gets some game time and makes the leap he needs to.

Hukporti runs the floor really well for a big guy, which should play well with the second unit since they like to play fast.
Ariel Reminds me of Mitch . I would be willing to let Mitch go to grow Ariel’s game . I know it’s only preseason but he is a traditional Center with fresh legs

No way. When healthy, Mitchell's experience combined with natural talent is no comparison. And we don't know what ariels potential actually is.

I told you all about Hukporti, is a euro vet, at only 22 yrs old. He has the fundamentals down. Hukporti actually is slower from where he was three years ago before the ACL. He looks fast because he understands the fundamentals and keeps moving his feet. … Dmytro, who he played with in SL is good also, hope we can get him back. We should let 22yr old Hukporti develop slowly. Would love Nnaji on a two way also. These late rd picks need to hit because we trade all of first rounders.

I know this is more of a rookie vid, but I have to give some love to Mikal. There's a reason they gave up so much for Bridges, he basically does everything really well. He caught some flak because he wasn't able to be a #1 scoring option for the Nets. Actually, he did well for the half season he was traded, but then couldn't maintain that level of play the next season. He's the #3 option now, has elite D, a high B ball IQ, doesn't miss games. I see great things for him this season

Pacome Dadiet has not played in 2 preseason games. 19 yr old probably headed to G League or back to France/overseas for further developments. Should play him at the 3-4 spots with his height and skills. Develop him into that 3-4 where there is a logjam at guard positions with Brunson, McBride, Kolek, Payne, Landry, Hart, Bridges. Knicks need more SFs/PFs players to round out bench depth and rotation
I have wanted Kessler since the day I Hart. But with the jazz asking price, doesn’t seem likely.
But the more I watch these guys…
I’m ok with Achiuwa, Sims and Hukporti sharing time when they need those center minutes prior to the (hopefully) healthy return of Mitch.

Kolek is a pretty good PG but his defense holds him back. Thibs being a defensive coach most likely will choose campayne as the back up PG. Kolek could be situational.

Did you forget about the defensive center, Moses Brown. Experienced with some offensive games but shoot an FT worse than Shaq. 7 blocks in a professional game. Thibs type of center, very active.

I’m hoping that kolek can make up for the reported lack of defensive athleticism with some good defensive smarts and IQ.
Pairing him with Mcbride on the second unit could work, as deuce can typically cover the bigger offensive threat from the opposing guards on the floor…
His defense isn’t bad.. not lockdown defender great like Deuce McBride but he isn’t a bad defender.

Early on everyone was worried Brunson’s defense wouldn’t be good enough. Now Brunson is the face of the franchise. Is Kolek that much worse on defense than Brunson? If not then he is a great backup that can develop better defense. If only he had a great defensive coach to teach him :).

Jericho Sims actually played in game 2 against the Wizards but for some reason Thibs yanked him after only 2 minutes. Sims did not return for the rest of the game.

Jericho is injured with a mild ankle sprain. That's why he didn't play in the second game. Not to say that Hukporti isn't a stud. He is. But let's not forget who's coaching the Knicks. There's no competition. Dude's a rookie and the team is stacked. It's a good problem to have but there's no competition at this point. The season is about to start. If there's an injury or trade then maybe.
