22-05 Christopher Cross, General Hospital and $5.00

I did this story because I learned the background of Mr. Cross' song "Think of Laura." I was moved to learn it was written to comfort his girlfriend, whose best friend (and mutual) Laura Carter was killed tragically riding in a car near Denison University in Ohio. After that, ABC's "General Hospital" picked up the song for the show in their storyline of the sage of Luke and Laura, lovers. Yet to my knowledge, they never asked permission nor paid him for use of the song.
I explain these details in the video, as well as my surprise to learn Mr. Cross had begun fighting a rare disease known as Guillaine-Barre Syndrome after battling covid-19. My original intentions of this video were to offer him $5.00 as a payment toward his efforts, since ABC (to my knowledge) never did. However, that changed when I learned of his battle against GBS. I also made it clear that we must remember Laura Carter, who died a tragic death, which was the reason for "Think of Laura."
