That was thoroughly satisfying Most bassists making fretless videos are pretty obviously unexperienced on the instrument, intonation problems constantly This, flawless. I was waiting for at least one note to be a quarter tone off, never happened
Well wel well..........fantastic ,straight forward bass playing the way i like it.None of the harshness that most seem to think a bass should be played. The difference with your playing it that it's perfect not only in your execution but vibe as well and you top it off without being flashy! Brother your got it going on!
Oh sorry that was rude. Judging the instrument not the player. It’s a lovely piece of playing, right up close to the bridge and minute minute timing. You want to hear the racket P-Basses make when I play them. ‘Rattle and hum’…
Sounds great! That looks like a Tony Franklin model with replaced electronics? The bridge pickup is definitely different and it doesn't have the 3-way/V/T layout.
What’s the highest pitch you can play on that finger board? It appears to have the same scale as a traditional precision bass with 20 frets. Can you play a higher note on it than E flat?
@@jamcam9 Hmmm, I don't see any pu switch like on my TF, but I do see three knobs unlike my TF. Looks like a Performer... whatever it is, this vid is pretty baddass.
P-bass fretless. It’s ‘cloudy’, just like the standard P. It’s classy, but cloudy. And I’m not a full-treble-slapper, I’m hearing both why Jaco Pastorius ripped out the frets and why he did it to his favourite Jazz Bass. He could have done it to a P just to see if it was feasible, but bastardized the Jazz to create the Bass of Doom. This is why. The P is always cloudy, it’s unclear, and there’s not much you can do about it apart from try different strings. It sounds exactly how I’d expect a P-Bass to sound without frets! You either love it or it’s a loveless marriage.
Absolutely brilliant playing. Tone, intonation, time... just great.
Thank you Friend!
This is the first time I’ve heard a fretless j/p setup. It sounds amazing.
Check out the Pedulla Pentabuzz
That was thoroughly satisfying

Groove! Amazing playing and riff!
That is a brilliant groove
Excellent!! He's a very polished bassist! He plays very cleanly and precisely with the fretless bass, which sounds incredibly good btw.
My kid just grew a beard from hearing this bass play. Thanks.
I hear a clear Mick Karn influence
Exactly my thoughts. It's got Japan written all over...which is always a good thing.
Love that fretless growl. And the riff and execution was awesome too!

Why don't you see too many fretless precisions?
Get it!!
I’m confused. Always thought the frets were what made it a Precision bass.🤔

@@grithersound you're right. Above the first knob are two screws that I guess looked like a blade switch to me that day. My bad.
Yes. They come in three colors but with the ebony fingerboard, the black body looks amazing. It looks tough and sophisticated at the same time.
@@mikecannady9064 i know i own the lake placid blue.
