I do too. I know I am also going to sound pretty superficial but Waltraud Meier is to Shirley Verrett as Petra Lang is to Grace Bumbry, considering that both singers have dabbled in both dramatic mezzo and dramatic soprano parts. They may not be the only ones, but I think this analogy makes so much sense.

Two utterly amazing singers with long careers that few outside the classical singing inner circle have ever heard of. I just discovered them both today, and find them more satisfying than some more famous singers. Is it luck? Agent/namagers? Eternal, unanswerable questions. I would love to be in a house with either or both of these fabulous talents!

Mr. Walker's baritone demonstrates rare clarity among those of this voice type. Ther is alack of annoying, " wooliness", and the is certainty of pitch and great,"attack", on notes which does not interrupt legato. Wonderful !!!
