Yes, Angelina always sang in a simple white dress as a very young child, until she was around 12, so the 2 youngest girls are her cousins (her manager/uncle Michael's children) & the pre-teen girl is her sister, symbolizing Angelina growing up & singing old, classic songs. Her artist/poet maternal grandma, Mery Zamani, is her inspiration & is still alive. In fact, Mery was the Executive Producer of this video. She has filmed 3 music videos in this antique shop in LA, this one, I Have Nothing & my absolute favorite song by her, My Funny Valentine. It's a classic jazz standard recorded by all the great jazz singers of the past, but none so beautifully as Angelina. Check it out. ruclips.net/video/ETGLbsGDAI0/видео.html
The children are her two young cousins - daughters of her Uncle Michael - and her sister Juliette (in the chair)... not certain what they represent but a common view is that they represent Angelina over the years (the white dresses are consistent with that view). By the way, Elvis's rendition was already a cover: the song was written and performed first by Mark James.
Beautiful reaction, thanks guys. From the very first words, the warmth, tone, passion and sweetness that Angelina manages to instill in this mythical song are truly incredible, you just wish the song was much longer. Her phrasing, backed by her wonderful use of breath and her peculiar jazz tone, always fascinates me and gives me chills every time, I love this absolutely amazing, so personal rewrite of this iconic song, with so many Elvis tribute details. Now it's a different song, but it's also the same, it still has that harmony, but somehow (in a way only Angelina can process) it's even more emotional, it's slower, but it's so close to your soul flow that kidnaps you. This is a furniture and antique shop in LA near them and Angelina really likes it as a setting, she also uses it for "My Funny Valentine" edited on a film she shot and her granny is Mery Zamani, the producer of this video..💛🧡❤
This has become the definitive version of this song for me. Angelina's vision for the meaning of the song has elevated it to a commentary on the human condition we all share. Great reaction.
The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968, and belongs to Rob Christie, AJ’s A&R rep from Republic Records/Universal Music Group. The Hagstrom Red Guitar belonged to musician Al Casey, a member of Elvis’ backing band during the special in 1968. According to an accompanying letter from Casey, he was asked to let Elvis use the guitar by the producers, as they "thought it would look beautiful on camera and with the set."
Angelina got Grandma Mery featured in her MV for her original song "Love Don`t Let Me Go" this summer. Angelina was finaly "Old Enough" (as her EP was named) to give granny a ride, and she thought it would be great to get hold on a Porshe Speedster for this purpose 😊 Total love and admiration among these two. No doubt. ruclips.net/video/1U6WY_z8Vu8/видео.html
Her Grandmother, Mery Zamani, is the co-producer of this video. You can see it, when the video starts and she discovered the chair. The song was published last year when the movie was published. She honored Elvis by the Beehive hairstyle is like Priscilla, the red guitar, the leather suit, the blue suede shows of Rob, the red suit like the band when Elvis has his comeback in 1968...
Dear british friends, this is an vintage antique shop in LA. As far as I know, it belongs to friends of her family. Those guys got a lot of interested customers after this videos of AJ. I very much like what you are doing. Congratulations to you. Elmar from Germany
Super Fantastic Gentlemen.!!! So great U are Fellow Ms. Angelina Jordan Angel Fan's - Part of the this Family Worldwide - Thank You - DD.@@highlyreactivereactions
I have to say I really love what you guys are doing. Your comments are genuine and insightful and it is clear you really feel the emotion that we all do. Angelina has definitely shown an affinity for Elvis music. She has done a few of his songs over the years. This has become more clear recently after Angelina met Priscilla Presley at a Halloween party about a year ago. It is said they have become good friends and the influence is clear. In her EP that came out during the summer, Old Enough, She has projected a '60s vibe as can be seen clearly in the video of Love Don't Let Me Go, first song on the EP. There is even a red guitar in the back seat of the convertible. She has sung Unchained Melody twice recently, once in September at her New Hampshire concert, and once at the Nobel Peace prize just last week! She sang Can't Help Falling in Love at a ball in Paris she attended this past month also. In summary, Angelina has numerous influences including Legends like Billie Holiday, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Whitney Houston, and many more. And Elvis definitely seems to stand out in the crowd. Peace out.
Grandma Mery is the producer of this and other videos of Miss Angelina. Thank god, she is still alive. Miss Angelina went almost crazy, when Mery was in surgery, to fight for her life against an enimy, we all know and fear. In her socials, Miss Angelina asked us to pray for Mery, and we did. It seems somebody up there heard us. As usual let there be light, peace and laughter, because there is inough of the dark and scary things. Your neighbor Elmar from Germany
My thoughts on this, Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes. I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on YOUTube since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani. She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The beautiful rendition of the song, and other tributes are in the leather outfit, Guitar and hair a tribute to Priscilla. 🔥🔥🔥♥👣
In this performance Angelina brings her inner Elvis to the forefront. Since she was very young AJ has been completely fearless about taking on iconic songs and re-imagining them. Thx and Merry Xmas guys.
Her Grandma, Mery Zamani, helped produced this. She used the same store (Melrose Gallery in L.A.) she used for her My Funny Valentine and I Have Nothing videos. Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. In a behind the scenes video, there was a small picture frame of Elvis on the set but was not shown in the video. As you mentioned, a number of her fans felt like the girls represented her in different stages of her life. What a performance and homage to The King! On a side note, there had been rumors that Angelina is the granddaughter of Elvis. Many fans have pointed out her striking resemblance to Elvis and Priscilla, that she has covered a number of his songs, and that she can sing very low, a rarity for a young girl. However, all of these rumors are NOT true. Angelina even made fun of an online article about these rumors on a TikTok video. She did have the honor of meeting Priscilla Presley and Austin Butler, the actor who played Elvis in the most recent movie about him, at a private screening of the film.
Enjoyable reaction gents. I believe Angelina captured the sad emotion of this Mark James song. Watching Elvis with his high energy is fun and I enjoy his version as well. Grandma Mery Zamani, has directed many of Angelina's music videos and is her mentor. Hopefully Mery has fully recovered from her health issues and will live a healthy, joyous many more years.
The throwbacks to Elvis may not be recognized by younger viewers. A throwback to Elvis' 1968 comeback which was televised: The piano player wore a red jump suit; Elvis wore black leather; the same model guitar Elvis played. Her hair style screams Priscilla Presley! To me, she spins this song from a female POV, a softer, sadder side.
republic records built angelina her own studio in beverly hills which is where she sang i have nothing... her family knows the owners of MELROSE ANTIQUE AND ART GALLERY in hollywood on melrose ave which is here and she also sang my funny valentine here. her mother and grandmother designed the set and her GM directed...
I'm surprised you skipped her incredible rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT 2020, because most reactors discover her singing I put a spell on you and move to Queen's iconic song. As usual, great reaction, guys! Keep'em coming!

Great reaction guys. You are right, Angelina is in the same antique studio with all the chandeliers that she did." I Have Nothing" . She also did another cover of a classic song." My Funny Valentine in the same studio. I think this one is in LA and it's one of the best spots. She likes to record some of the nostalgic songs. She did slow the song down quite a bit. But also I think by doing this she gave us a chance to really listen to the meaning of the words. She paid great homage to Elvis with the classic guitar from that song. Also, her leather outfit and her Priscilla hairdo vibes. This rendition gave this song a refreshing new meaning and it really doesn't sound like the original at all but still has some of the character of it. This is the genius of Angelina Jordan. As you well know she can take a cover and really make it her own but still stay true to the original artist. Please continue your journey guys with Angelina. It is so much appreciated. I would suggest if you want to really be mind-blowing. Watch her performance at the Nobel Peace prize in Oslo, Norway. Just recently. I think it's one of the best renditions of "Unchained Melody" she has ever done of this song and that anyone has ever done of this song. It is absolutely magnificent. She performed this with Kork, the famous Norwegian orchestra for the Nobel Peace prize winner. Keep posting my friends so much appreciated. Much thanks and love from Canada👍🇨🇦❤️
Grandma Mery (the executive producer of this video) is still very much alive, and an artist herself. This is an antique shop near where she lives in LA area.
The young ones are her little cousins of uncle Michael. The older girl is her little sister Juliette. The guitar belongs to the piano player Rob Christie, acting director of Republic Record LA, mentor, guardian angel, friend and 2 times Grammy winner. At one time, in a live stream, when her enthusiasm went a bit wild with her singing a not yet released song, he had to remind her and Juliette of that, because of copy rights. It was funny.
I think the song was already released and she was singing along but she was playing too much of the recording and suddenly the live chat stopped. When they came back Rob Christie explained to her about the copyright issue. She said “I didn’t know that”. The funny thing is that it happened two more times in the live chat. So Angelina got copyright strikes for her own song.
She has 3 video;s in this store. The first of which she was 16 and featured her recording of Funny Valentine. I and many believe it to be the very best version of that song ever sung. It's a incredibly Dynamic and Technically rich interpretation.
Thank you for another grand reaction to Angelina. Read the lyrics of the song and then listen to both Elvis and Angelina singing. Who did you think really understood the message Mark James was trying to convey? The song was written by Mark James, an American singer/songwriter, who recorded it the year it was written. The best known version, however, was that done by Elvis Presley. It was his last No 1 song. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, Mark James is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat". Angelina took a very different path in that she read and understood the lyrics and what Mark James intended when writing them. To my mind, her rendition is much truer to the emotions of the song. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins Aurora (first) and then Athena - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. For me, that she started with the Bridge of the song is very significant and, I feel, very indicative of Angelina's "up front" transparency. She was declaring that it was important that their love did not die, and then carries on to say why she feels as she does. Others first say how they feel and then, almost as an afterthought, assure their love they don't want it to end. For me, it is whether I feel the singer is genuine about the situation and wishes it could be resolved or whether the singer understands the situation but thinks the blame is on her/his partner but feels the need to assure them they don't want it to end (until somebody else comes along).
Have you heard Angelinas original song Million Miles? Its about her grandpa passing away and dedicated to all that have lost a loved one ❤️ Its a great one and emotional one, especially if you have lost a loved one in your life ❤️ I lost my dad at a very young age and Angelinas song Million Miles hits hard ❤️
Its a Period furniture shop on Melrose Ave West Hollywood, owned by family or friends..... Her Grandmother { Mery Zamani } was involved in making this, video she's an International Artist and Poet, She is around 60 yo.... we forget how young Angelina is sometimes.. she's only 16yo here... She's 18yo on January 10th..... the girls were her 2 Cousens and her little Sister Juliette who's about 12yo..... everything in the video was A tribute to Elvis, from his comeback show in 1968. Pricilla's, hair style, Elvis` Guitar, the mic ,the pianists clothes, the Blue Suede boot when she was sat down,... all supervised by AJs Gran.
Good reaction Guys...The word "risk" was used a few times in regards to her covering such a well known singer, and/or song. It's only a RISK if you don't know the outcome...but you forget that Angelina (as well as a more than accomplished ARTIST), also takes the lead on the sound she wants to use. Her ability to take a classic song, sung by a classic singer; visualize what/how she is going to RE-CREATE. When she's done, there's never any looking back, she sings with total abandon, and unapologetically treats us to her version. Bottom line, Angelina made this HER classic for this era....you got a taste of it w/her "I HAVE NOTHING" video...she made it a respectful tribute to the original singer, but injected her own interpretations. As far as her covers, you should expect her to approach it the same way. The process is amazing, the re-created results are fresh. We'll see you on the flipside, I'm certain😉, Peace and Merry Christmas!
The place where this, My Funny Valentine and I have Nothing were recorded, is called Gallery on Melrose...it is a huge antiques emporium in L.A., owned by someone close to the family...the children represent Angelina's visits to this place since she was a very small child...it is a place she loves...the two small kiddies are her Uncle Mike's kids (Uncle Mike is also her manager) and the older girl is Juliette, Angelina's sister...the black jump suit is what Elvis wore in his comeback gig, along with the red guitar and Rob's attire, which was what Elvis' band were wearing in the comeback show...then there's the very 'Priscilla' hair-do...this is a work of art
The pianist Rob Christie (music studio director of Republic Records distribution of UMG, two-time Grammy winner) changed the musical arrangement and Angelina changed the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyrical structure starting with the bridge and gives the song a different meaning than Felton Jarvis and Mark James , Angelina version absolutely fits the lyric better. Once again, many people don't hear and understand the song until Angelina tells the story. 👣 💯 *AJ* 💯👣 The producer Felton Jarvis from Elvis Presley cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original country arrangement completely from Mark James and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version).
The baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins - the preteen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette and the Piano Player is Rob Christie Director of the Republic Records Los Angeles Studio which is the record label that Angelina has been signed with since she was 14 years old.
Hi guys .. you are right .. this is the same location as the "I have nothing" .. it is the Melrose Gallery in Los Angeles .. Angelina did a little location scouting earlier that year and recorded a Vlog Style Video she then used with her "My funny Valentine" she posted on February 14th 2023 .. .. Angelina slowed this down because the seriousness of the meaning of the Song Lyrics .. many said it fitts better than the "poppy-rocky" version of Elvis .. .. Angelina is well known by Priscilly and Lisa-Marie .. and Lisa-Maries passing hit her hard ..
Grandma Mery Zamani is very much alive, and was the Executive Producer of this video. She is also often the person holding the phone in many of the BTS videos we have of AJ. She has and continues to be her documentarian.
Guys, Love your reaction to Angelina's remake of Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds". The video lyrics were slowed down from the original song to focus on their relationship during Elvis's come-back concert. The symbolism from Angelina's leather jumpsuit, the red guitar, and Priscilla Presley's beehive hairdo was the look during the late sixties. The video was a family production from Angelina's Grandma Mery the ex-producer, her sister Juliette, and her uncle Mike's daughters, who were all involved in this beautiful video.
She makes her own decisions. First off she has huge respect and admiration for Elvis. I never liked Elvis personally, but now l have more appreciation, same goes for Adele, only because of Angelina. If you say risky, and talk about her voice saving this, it sounds a bit like what you feel is she did need saving. If you hear her " Billie Jean", you may feel that way to the extreme..
We get that Michael. There's no disrespect in her. It can be risky to take on such legends work and put a cover cause die hard fans of the originals often give it bad press. Unsurprisingly, she pulled it off though 👍
This is a tribute to Elvis, from the black leather, her Percilla beehive hairdo, to the red guitar he used on his '68 comeback tour, the song itself he charted for weeks in '69, the blue suede shoes on the couch, the three little girls representing Lisa Marie growing up in Graceland (the glitz and glamor of the setting) and and to show how personal it was to her,, her grand mery produced this and the piano player is double Grammy Winner Rob Christy,,,, the 2 baby girls are AJs cousins, Her uncle/manager Mike's girls, and the older girl is AJs little sister Juliette (11) and AJ was (16)
When Angelina released this a small amount of elvis fans couldn't accept this rendition , but the majority of them were positive towards Angelinas cover .
Her granny is Mery Zamani who was the producer of this. She is also the person in Angelina's life that gives her so much encouragement, they are very close. Mery is also very talented she is a worldwide known artist. She does a lot with the background of her Videos. I have been following Angelina since she won Norway's Got Talent at 8. So you have missed so much of her story and her beautiful music. I am sure that you will get many more articles from her Angels that is what she calls her fans. Enjoy your trip down the Rabbit Hole Blessings to you from a 77 year old gran from South Africa.
Sometimes that's what we would do and what we have done in the past with big covers like this but we noticed that mainly people skipped to the newer version of it so we thought we would put a snip in for this video. We appreciate the feedback 👍
Hehe. Thanks for checking this one out, guys! I dunno, I somehow feel semi guilty for maybe hyping you a little the wrong way here. But I remember I said that she flipped it 180 degrees, and I do think she pretty much did that. Starting AND ending the song with its bridge and slowing it WAAY down. I don't know if you're left with the feeling that you all of a sudden understood what the lyrics say and what the song is REALLY about ?? That happened to me at least. And to be honest, that often happens when I listen to her. She emphasizes so much more on the emotion of the song, which WILL make you listen to it differently. Anyhow, I think she is brave as very few 16 year olds before her, taking an ABSOLUTE classic song from the king himself (not his original though) and changing it up like this. But she is so incredibly confident in herself as an artist and singer. And why shouldn't she be, right ?? Now, I feel like I need to give you something different from her. You guys into EDM at all? If so, Angelina's got you covered 🙂 A Norwegian producer duo called TRXD made a song called "Above The Water" and asked Angelina if she'd be interested in doing the vocals. And the rest, as they say, is history. She had JUST turned 14, and what we hear is a one off by her. But she shows us yet again that she indeed can sing ANYTHING. This performance actually went its rounds in the clubs for a while, despite no promotion of it whatsoever. If you decide to give the song a go, I strongly recommend going with the fan made video. You can see some really beautiful girls dancing in the music video. SHOULD be up your alley. I'd love to hear your take on it tbh. I'll drop the link in a separate comment, as I have seen the AI remove a lot of comments containing links lately. Take care, Guys!! Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
It certainly was a beautiful side to this track and we know what you mean. Falling in Reverse did the same thing with Last Resort and the tones and style really made you think just how dark those lyrics were 😂
I'm sure others have already pointed this out, but the version of this song by Elvis was also a cover. The original was recorded a year earlier by the song's writer, Mark James (who was also one of the writers of "Always on My Mind", which was also covered by both Elvis and Angelina). Just FYI.😁
At 16. Released June 22, 2022. By August, 2023, 4.6 Million views on RUclips alone. Angelina starts off with the bridge, completely different from anyone else; and then, begins with the opening line of the song. Her beehive hairdo, is in the homage to Priscilla...many photographs of her hair exactly like that. And a leather outfit he later wore. The guitar is the Elvis 1968 "Comeback" Guitar. Rob Christie actually owns this one. The two young cousins, are Uncle/Manager Michael's children. The young girl is her sister, Juliette. Angelina had a framed photo of Elvis in the Service, at the location. Such respect. Rob Christie is on the piano. (Currently Republic Records award winning Studio Director) Angelina is both Director & Producer on this! 😇🌺🌺 ruclips.net/video/RTbKhkceR00/видео.html
Elvis was a cover singer. The original was made and released by Mark James. Like Frank Sinatra did a cover of "Fly me to the moon" and the Rightious Brothers made a cover of "Unchained melody". Maybe in the future we will only remember these songs sung by Angelina and everyone will think it is her original.
Although the original is by " mark james " this is a tribute to elvis and pricilla , black leather ( comeback tour ) red guitar , jump suit ( piano player ) worn by elvis crew , the beehive hairstyle worn by pricilla presley when married to elvis .
It is an homage to Elvis. Note the leather outfit and the same guitar as werr as the Beehive hair due as worn by Elvi's wife (Prisilla), I think and female fans, it was referred to a Beehive and was a fad for quite awhile. AJ will have that same guitar in the car when she does her first release off her ER, Love Don't Let Me Go.
The Elvis version reflects the trend of heavy Vegas jangle pop that was everywhere in the late 60s. Angelina slow version really gives time for the lyrics to shine. The subject matter is pretty serious and deserves a slower pace to be understood fully. plus his version was part of a gospel kick at the end where ecstatic repetition really moved the crowd . Her version is much more intimate, and you can feel the weight of the lyrics and the meaning behind them.
I think Angelinas version fits the lyrics perfect, emotional, slowed down, which i think the Elvis version was more of almost a happy fast tune, which sounded odd, when you hear the lyrics 🤔🤔🤔 Brilliant version by AJ 👍
Haha yeah we thought the same when we did Falling in Reverse revamped version of Last Resort and how a different melody and different style of singing can really bring the darkness out in lyrics
Elvis’ cover of this song is not what you would expect from the emotion of the lyrics, but he made it his own. Angelina did too, but with more respect to the original, I think.
Angelina's instincts on how to perform these covers never seem to be wrong. Some songs she turns entirely inside out and reinvents them such as "Billie Jean" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." Other songs are not remarkably changed such as "Yesterday" and "California Dreamin" in which she only slowed the tempo slightly. In "Easy on Me" she changed very little except it was Angelina's voice instead of Adele's. Not once, even when she was tiny, did I feel the original songs were disrespected in any way.
I'm not sure why you would think it's risky to do this. It would be more risky to try to copy Elvis, don't you think? If people wanted to listen to Elvis sing the song, they would just do that. Frankly, I prefer Angelina's version as it captures the feeling of the words. I'm an Elvis fan and have been listening to him since the 1950's. But, if I want to listen to "Suspicious Minds", I'll choose Angelina's performance. If I want to listen to "How Great Thou Art", I would choose Elvis' version, even though Angelina's is amazing for a female, and even more amazing for a 13 year old girl. Other Elvis songs she done (there are several more), it's a toss-up and just depends on my mood.
It's risky cause some die hard fans can be really toxic and even if the covers amazing or not, they Will leave bad press on it. We on the other hand love Elvis version and this one aswell. Completely different vibe and we appreciate that
Fun fact. In total of all our videos we have 0.0% under the age of 18 watch our videos. Our main majority is the ages 35 - 64 with only 3% being ages 18 - 24. We get what your saying and we appreciate you looking out for the younger ones 😊
I turn to the guy on the left who is burning electronics during the broadcast. Do not do this! If you have children, you are setting a bad example for them!!! Your children are your business - other people's children are your business too! If they start smoking because they see that a "star" smokes, they will start imitating you. Zbyszek Italy

Her interpretation to me shows the masterpiece that song actually is. And yes, of course her voice in undeniably the best I have ever heard.
Defintely!
Angelina doesn't cover songs - she uncovers them, delivering their essence to heart! 🤩👣🔥🧡🙌❣️
Haha love that. Very poetic
I think its good she's mixing it up. It's a lovely story
Amazing! Thank you for sharing
This same store was also used for her I Have Nothibg video.
@@pjg58x Yes, but they've seen that before
Thank you for those kind words Claudio and sharing that information with us
This has become the definitive version of this song for me. Angelina's vision for the meaning of the song has elevated it to a commentary on the human condition we all share. Great reaction.
Very well said 👏
The Hagstrom Red Guitar used in this video is a modern up to date copy of the one Elvis used in 1968, and belongs to Rob Christie, AJ’s A&R rep from Republic Records/Universal Music Group.
The Hagstrom Red Guitar belonged to musician Al Casey, a member of Elvis’ backing band during the special in 1968. According to an accompanying letter from Casey, he was asked to let Elvis use the guitar by the producers, as they "thought it would look beautiful on camera and with the set."
Elvis Presley’s 1942 Martin D-18 acoustic guitar may have recently sold for $1.32 million, but fear not - another of the King’s axes, this one his cherry-red Hagstrom Viking II electric guitar, famous for its use in the legendary '68 Comeback Special, is hitting the block.
The semi hollow instrument is a highlight of Kruse GWS Auctions’ Artifacts of Hollywood & Music auction, which begins on March 27. It's being offered with a starting bid of $250,000.
By Matt Owen published March 31, 2021 Now, it has been confirmed that the legendary semi-hollow has been sold for a whopping $625,000, with the proud new owner of the lot managing to outbid six other plucky bidders to get their hands on the prized piece of music memorabilia.
The ‘68 Comeback Special marked Elvis' return to live performance after seven years spent focused on acting in Hollywood films. The televised concert, which launched Presley's return to live touring, featured him playing the Hagstrom for the opening segment as well as during one of the live "stand-up" segments. Her granny is alive...and proud of Angelina. Mery Zemani is her grandma, and was producer of this video.
Thats great to hear
angelina's grandmother is very much alive and is angelina's inspiration. she directed this video...
No doubt.

Peace out.
Thank you for those kind words of support. We are defintely enjoying her work and look forward to seeing more
Her version of "Love is a game" is amazing. #AngelinaJordan

Facts
My thoughts on this,
Power & Pure Velvet Perfection!
Thank you for your comment and sharing 😊
In this performance Angelina brings her inner Elvis to the forefront. Since she was very young AJ has been completely fearless about taking on iconic songs and re-imagining them. Thx and Merry Xmas guys.
She defintely did an amazing job with it aswell 😊
Thank you for sharing that info 😊
Enjoyable reaction gents. I believe Angelina captured the sad emotion of this Mark James song. Watching Elvis with his high energy is fun and I enjoy his version as well. Grandma Mery Zamani, has directed many of Angelina's music videos and is her mentor. Hopefully Mery has fully recovered from her health issues and will live a healthy, joyous many more years.
Defintely brings a different tone to the song
The throwbacks to Elvis may not be recognized by younger viewers. A throwback to Elvis' 1968 comeback which was televised: The piano player wore a red jump suit; Elvis wore black leather; the same model guitar Elvis played. Her hair style screams Priscilla Presley! To me, she spins this song from a female POV, a softer, sadder side.
Fully agree with you Rick
republic records built angelina her own studio in beverly hills which is where she sang i have nothing...
her family knows the owners of MELROSE ANTIQUE AND ART GALLERY in hollywood on melrose ave which is here and she also sang my funny valentine here. her mother and grandmother designed the set and her GM directed...

I'm surprised you skipped her incredible rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT 2020, because most reactors discover her singing I put a spell on you and move to Queen's iconic song. As usual, great reaction, guys! Keep'em coming!
We will get round to that one 😊 We tend to go in the order fate and the recommendations take us which can be a little all over the place 😂
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust. © Larry D. Pifer

Thats amazing. Thank you for sharing that information and glad we got something right 😊
Grandma Mery (the executive producer of this video) is still very much alive, and an artist herself. This is an antique shop near where she lives in LA area.

If you want to hear an 'Angelina'd' classic, listen to her cover of Michael Jacksons Billie Jean (or any other cover she's done for that matter!).
Thank you for the recommendation Alan
@@pjg58x Thank you very much for the info. MerryChristmas, love from Germany
Haha imagine getting copyrighted for your own work 😂
She has 3 video;s in this store. The first of which she was 16 and featured her recording of Funny Valentine. I and many believe it to be the very best version of that song ever sung. It's a incredibly Dynamic and Technically rich interpretation.

Breaking news: Elvis just returned to the building to hear AJ sing !!!
😂 This heaven-to-earth cab is very busy taking him down and back up, considering how many outstanding Elvis covers she's done so far.

"Suspicious Minds" is a 1968 song written and first recorded by the American songwriter Mark James. After this recording failed commercially, it was recorded by Elvis Presley with the producer Chips Moman. Presley's version reached No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and it was his last hit record to reach No.1.
(Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, had a long and successful career that spanned from the 1950s to the 1970s. He recorded hundreds of songs and sold millions of records worldwide. His last two hits of his career were "Way Down" and "Moody Blue", both released in 1977, the year of his death. "Way Down" was a rockabilly song that reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the country charts. "Moody Blue" was a ballad that peaked at number 31 on the Hot 100 and number two on the country charts. Both songs showcased Elvis' distinctive voice and style, and were well received by his fans and critics.)
Consider this; there are lots of performers that impersonate Elvis, and some can sound just like him. Have you ever experienced someone that sounds like Angelina Jordan, let me be the first to answer that question, the answer in no. That is because AJ is one of a kind, and on a level that supersedes all others. If you question what I have just stated just listen to the professional voice teachers after experiencing AJ. They all admit that they are speechless because they have never heard anyone like AJ.
The children are AJ two little cousins, they are the daughters of her uncle Mike, he is her manager, and the oldest girl is her younger sister, Juliette.
This is my 126th time experiencing this video, and each and every time it gets better. We must give credit to the support team behind this phenom. There is no one on earth that can match the talent of this STORYTELLER. AJ deconstructs a song then reconstruct it to make each individual hearing it feel it was written for them, a love letter to their comfort zone.
Melrose Gallery is the same antique store in Hollywood that she used for My Funny Valentine
AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute. Don’t forget she writes music and was the youngest author in Norway to publish a book.
No loud band, no light show, no dancers, just two instruments to accompany the MAGIC that Angelina Jordan brings like no one else can.
At 7 she was killing us, at 16 she is taking us places we have never been.
What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs. © Larry D. Pifer

He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of."
Other singers covering this song invariably base their performance on that of Elvis, in that it is very "upbeat".
It is very deep. Thank you for sharing

Rob Christie is Playing Piano, and he is AJ's A&R person with Republic Records/Universal Music Group.
That dude playing the piano is Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, two years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records
Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision.
AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states; "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. Thank you for sharing that Rick
👣 💯 *AJ* 💯👣
The producer Felton Jarvis from Elvis Presley cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original country arrangement completely from Mark James and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version).
I’ve always loved Elvis’ studio version. His over the top live Vegas version to me seems like a bit much. It’s almost like a parody.
Thats awesome. Thank you for sharing the knowledge 😊
The baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins - the preteen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette and the Piano Player is Rob Christie Director of the Republic Records Los Angeles Studio which is the record label that Angelina has been signed with since she was 14 years old.

Artists Extraordinaire #######
Angelina Jordan is a musical artist who paints a stunning soundscape with the emotion in her voice, just as Mery Zamani. her famous grandmother does with her paintings. Both of them are artists extraordinaire and both of them have a unique and remarkable talent that transcends the ordinary. Angelina Jordan's songs are like colorful paintings that evoke a range of emotions and sensations in the listener, while Mery Zamani's paintings are like lyrical poems that capture the beauty and mystery of life. © Larry D. Thanks guys for the your reaction. 😘
Thank you too for watching
Hi guys .. you are right .. this is the same location as the "I have nothing" .. it is the Melrose Gallery in Los Angeles ..
Thats awesome. Thank you for sharing
Grandma Mery Zamani is very much alive, and was the Executive Producer of this video. She is also often the person holding the phone in many of the BTS videos we have of AJ. She has and continues to be her documentarian.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Guys, Love your reaction to Angelina's remake of Elvis Presley's "Suspicious Minds". The video lyrics were slowed down from the original song to focus on their relationship during Elvis's come-back concert. The symbolism from Angelina's leather jumpsuit, the red guitar, and Priscilla Presley's beehive hairdo was the look during the late sixties. The video was a family production from Angelina's Grandma Mery the ex-producer, her sister Juliette, and her uncle Mike's daughters, who were all involved in this beautiful video.
Thank you so much. She's very talented and we are always looking forward to our next reaction to her
The piano player is 2 time Grammy winner ,republic records studio director and mentor to Angelina . " rob christie "
He was defintely amazing
She makes her own decisions. First off she has huge respect and admiration for Elvis. I never liked Elvis personally, but now l have more appreciation, same goes for Adele, only because of Angelina. If you say risky, and talk about her voice saving this, it sounds a bit like what you feel is she did need saving. If you hear her " Billie Jean", you may feel that way to the extreme..
We get that Michael. There's no disrespect in her. It can be risky to take on such legends work and put a cover cause die hard fans of the originals often give it bad press. Unsurprisingly, she pulled it off though 👍
This is a tribute to Elvis, from the black leather, her Percilla beehive hairdo, to the red guitar he used on his '68 comeback tour, the song itself he charted for weeks in '69, the blue suede shoes on the couch, the three little girls representing Lisa Marie growing up in Graceland (the glitz and glamor of the setting) and and to show how personal it was to her,, her grand mery produced this and the piano player is double Grammy Winner Rob Christy,,,, the 2 baby girls are AJs cousins, Her uncle/manager Mike's girls, and the older girl is AJs little sister Juliette (11) and AJ was (16)
Defintely a beautiful tribute at that. Thank you for your comment Robert
When Angelina released this a small amount of elvis fans couldn't accept this rendition , but the majority of them were positive towards Angelinas cover .
I defintely think it deserves it round of applause 😊
Her granny is Mery Zamani who was the producer of this. She is also the person in Angelina's life that gives her so much encouragement, they are very close. Mery is also very talented she is a worldwide known artist. She does a lot with the background of her Videos. I have been following Angelina since she won Norway's Got Talent at 8. So you have missed so much of her story and her beautiful music. I am sure that you will get many more articles from her Angels that is what she calls her fans. Enjoy your trip down the Rabbit Hole
Blessings to you from a 77 year old gran from South Africa.
Thank you for sharing Gwen ☺️
I would love reactions to do the whole original then Angelina's so we can see her artistry better
Falling in Reverse did the same thing with Last Resort and the tones and style really made you think just how dark those lyrics were 😂
👍👍👍@@highlyreactivereactions
I'm sure others have already pointed this out, but the version of this song by Elvis was also a cover. The original was recorded a year earlier by the song's writer, Mark James (who was also one of the writers of "Always on My Mind", which was also covered by both Elvis and Angelina). Just FYI.😁
That was sometimes we have recently learned and we always appreciate that information 😊

Thank you for sharing the info John
Her own version but showing her respect to Elvis!❤
Mad respect to her for it ☺️
Her grandmother is alive and well. However AJ'S grandfather passed.
Thank you for sharing
Elvis was a cover singer. The original was made and released by Mark James. Like Frank Sinatra did a cover of "Fly me to the moon" and the Rightious Brothers made a cover of "Unchained melody". Maybe in the future we will only remember these songs sung by Angelina and everyone will think it is her original.
Thank you for sharing that information 😊
Just to let you know, in case you don’t, that Elvis’s iconic performance was also a cover..originally written and performed by Mark James..thx guys..
That was actually new information to us and we appreciate that
@@highlyreactivereactions Mark James’s version was slightly slower than Elvis’s.
Although the original is by " mark james " this is a tribute to elvis and pricilla , black leather ( comeback tour ) red guitar , jump suit ( piano player ) worn by elvis crew , the beehive hairstyle worn by pricilla presley when married to elvis .
Haha thats awesome. Thank you for sharing
Amazing! Thank you for sharing
Defintely a different take and very well executed 😊
I think Angelinas version fits the lyrics perfect, emotional, slowed down, which i think the Elvis version was more of almost a happy fast tune, which sounded odd, when you hear the lyrics 🤔🤔🤔 Brilliant version by AJ 👍
Haha yeah we thought the same when we did Falling in Reverse revamped version of Last Resort and how a different melody and different style of singing can really bring the darkness out in lyrics
Take a picture of young Elvis and put it against Angelina in this Video , its soooo fitting together
Defintely 😊
Elvis’ cover of this song is not what you would expect from the emotion of the lyrics, but he made it his own. Angelina did too, but with more respect to the original, I think.
I defintely have respect for both versions. Completely different tones bring put different emotions
As promised, here is the link to Angelina's EDM song, "Above The Water" : ruclips.net/video/y6SilwnR2Zc/видео.html Toodle-pip, my friends 🙂
Thank you ☺️
I think Angelina represents Family/Relationship in this song. Mho
Defintely an interesting one Carol ☺️
Angelina's instincts on how to perform these covers never seem to be wrong. Some songs she turns entirely inside out and reinvents them such as "Billie Jean" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." Other songs are not remarkably changed such as "Yesterday" and "California Dreamin" in which she only slowed the tempo slightly. In "Easy on Me" she changed very little except it was Angelina's voice instead of Adele's. Not once, even when she was tiny, did I feel the original songs were disrespected in any way.
Fully agree Robert and definitely looking forward to seeing more
Can you guys do - Oh Come all Ye faithful by Pentatonix please 😊
Thank you for the recommendation ☺️
@@highlyreactivereactions your so welcome 🤗
Merry Christmas !
Believe me, you won’t regret it
@@mcbowl58 I'm sure we won't. Much love and merry Christmas
1 cosa no es cancion de Elvis , Elvis solo era un covert
The original by " mark james "
Who do u think is filming.
Love that!
I love how you brought up the original first.
Thank you ☺️
I'm not sure why you would think it's risky to do this.

I really don't care about your children's lungs - smoke at home as much as you want.
But remember, teenagers are probably watching you too!
