    Literally shouted "YES!!!" when you mentioned the Stardust 4k announcement, that's the first I've heard of it; will be a guaranteed purchase for me. It's based on the book by Neil Gaiman, not sure if there's any other connection to Mathew Vaughn making it or not.
    Yes, Peter Macnicol is the same guy from Ghostbusters 2. I first saw Dragonslayer on 4k, it was fun and looked great.
    The aesthetics of Krull are definitely better than the actual movie, lol!
    I don't know that I'd spend $200 bucks on Neverending Story even if I had it, lol, but I hope a more standard edition gets released for North America with just whichever variation in cuts it has, minus all the physical extras, with maybe a slip of the book cover instead of an actual box. It has amazing practical effects but I love it for more nostalgic reasons: the exterior city shots with the bullies were done here in Vancouver and the end sequence where Falcor and Bastion dive bomb them has a shot in the distance of BC Place stadium before it was renovated in 2015. A big part of my childhood.

    Hook is categorized under children's fantasy. Red Sonja has a great remaster on Blu-ray by Shout factory but I would seek out the popular fan edit called Conan and Red Sonja that fix many of the movie's issues. I grew up with the U.K theatrical cut of Legend (the U.K blu-ray is region free) and that is my go to version of the movie over both the American and director's cut especially with the happy ending and Jerry Goldsmith's beautiful score. Dark Crystal is visually stunning but the story is a little weak, it's a case of style of substance. Imprint's NeverEnding Story is way overpriced and shouldn't be limited especially knowing how popular the movie is. Blade Runner is film noir and sci-fi not fantasy. I would consider Star Wars and the Battlestar Galactica reboot (you will understand why it's part fantasy by the series finale) sci-fi fantasy. Two great overlooked fantasy actually belongs to Hallmark channel: 1998 Merlin starring Sam Neill, Isabella Rossellini, Rutger Hauer and Miranda Richardson; 1997 The Odyssey starring Armand Assante, Vanessa Williams and also Isabella Rossellini. I believe both shows can be found here on the platform but the each movie split into two parts unlike the DVD format where they're presented as single movies. Seek them out, you won't be disappointed. Whatever you do... avoid the semi-reboot cashgrab Merlin's Apprentice also starring Sam Neill.

    If Flash Gordon is fantasy, then where is Star Wars on your list? It's pulp sci-fi. As much as I love it and would rank it above everything else here, I'm also not sure if The Princess Bride qualifies as fantasy. Maybe by the most tenuous of margins. Again, I'd think if that's fantasy, then Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is equally fantasy.
    Notably missing are Neverending Story and Dark Crystal.

  • @MoviePalaceOfBlood
    @MoviePalaceOfBlood Месяц назад

    You got ripped off for that Legend DVD! I bought that Ultimate Edition 2002 set when it was new as well...I got it from Best Buy and I'm sure it was only about $20. I never upgraded from the studio blu to the Arrow blu, because as far as I know that Arrow scan is the same scan as the studio scan, and all that set adds is maybe some extras? Krull is great, I have that on blu and that can be gotten cheap. Warcraft actually came out in 2016, it was 1 of the earliest released 4ks in 4k's debut year. Oh and stuff like Beastmaster was rated PG cause it came out before 1984 and Gremlins. There was no PG-13 yet, films like Gremlins being PG around '84 is what helped bring about the PG-13 rating. It's the same reason stuff like Poltergeist is PG, you could get away with a lot before you got an R, pre-1984. I think temple of doom along with Gremlins, both in '84, caused the big uproar from parents and such, so they introed PG-13. A couple fantasy picks for you, you may not know, The Barbarians 1987 starring The Barbarian brothers is fun, Kino sells a cheap blu. Another one is Lucio Fulci's Conquest from 1983, it's super gory like his horror films and has the added unique novelty of laser blast type weaponry which you don't get in really any other fantasy movie. I snagged a cheap blu of it when Kino was selling it a few years ago, goes for a bit of $$$ now but just wanted to put it on your radar. You can actually watch it on Tubi.

    Hearts and Armour 1983 , VHS release only absolute Classic , Its Got Tanya Roberts "Beastmaster" Hot AF nude bits Ronn Moss in it as well as a few other good actors , Not many peeps know of this one there is a Very nice cleaned up version on RUclips you can watch Free , Have a Google , I think you'll like it. REIGN oF FIRE 2002 , Its Got Dragons lol What a Classic and my Favorite Dragon Movie . oh yeah Highlander 4K is no better than the 30th Anniversary bluray Edition , save yourself some coin buy something else 👍 And KRULL has an Umbrella Entertainment Bluray and its Excellent , well worth the upgrade "Dont let the Cover scare you" as its reversible to the Og Version , Oh Yeah Soloman Kane 2009 and Beowulf & Grendel 2005 Gerard Butler and a load of other cool actors , I like all the offbeat gear that everyone forgets about Edit : That bloody Gods of Egypt , That was also my bedtime Movie for years 🤣 Elodie Young as Hathor = Mmmmmmm mmm 🥰😂 The Dark Crystal , Ladyhawke and Pans Labyrinth are really needed in my Collection and a 4K release of EXCALIBUR wouldnt go astray😀
