Rocksmith 2014 was much better though. 3- Batman Arkham Asylum. Nobody expected a superhero game to be that good. 2- Dead Space. IMO it took the crown of horror games from the Resident Evil franchise. 1- Borderlands. Nobody expected that game to be "something". It came out of nowhere. It turned into one of the most fun FPS games of that era and spawned multiple sequels already. Biggest failures (in terms of expectations): 5- Crysis 2. It was impossible to top the first Crysis. 4- Dead Island. Fake sandbox, fake openworld, fake everything. The trailer had us hyped. It turned into a very bland game with lots of issues, lots of crashes. 3- Haze. It was part of the debacle of the early PS3 era, back when the Xbox 360 was clearly having the upper hand. 2- Duke Nukem Forever. On the other hand, we all knew it would fail even before it came out. 1- Brink. Bethesda broke its back on that one. Best of All: 5 - GTA IV, Hey Niko, let's go bowling! Crowbcat proved how superior GTA 4 was when compared to the 5th. 4- Skyrim, love it or hate it, and yes it was the worst port of the game, and yes it's much better on PC, but it still blew away the competition on the PS3. 3- Red Dead Redemption, it revived the Red Dead franchise, the multiplayer was a blast until hackers came in the picture. 2- The Last of Us 1- Metal Gear Solid 4 Honorary Mentions: 5- Vanquish, awesome 3rd person shooter, arcade-ish, non-stop action. It's not emulated. So, it turns out, this was my fault - the gameplay capture isn't slow - but when I imported it into my video editing software, I accidentally changed the framerate - which is why it slows down a bit. Is it even possible to emulate the PS3 yet?
@@GaryRetroGamer yeah, at lot of PS3 games can be emulated, I'm not sure if the R&C games can be emulated via the PS3 emulator, but I was refering to the PS2 emulator, because the first R&C can be emulated in the PS2 emulator and look almost the same with the HD PS3 version.

Hmm. That is strange. I can confirm that I did use this capture device. I'm looking for a serial number on it, and at the bottom there is a sticker that says "VG0020 Ver 2.0". I will point out that it had trouble capturing anything at 1080p on the PS3. I had to force my PS3 down to 720p in order for the capturing to work (otherwise I got a blank screen). That was strange because I was able to use it with the Xbox360 at 1080p without any problems.

Shadows of the damned
Mass effect trilogy
Infamous 1 & 2
Gran turismo 6
Tekken tag tournament 2
God of War 3
Deus EX
Persona 5
Batman Arkham games
Mortal kombat
WWE 13
Assassin's Creed black flag
Beyond two souls
L.A. Noire
I'm amazed that god of war ascension didnt make the cut
it wasn't as good as god of war 3 apparently. but i liked it
Just a reminder MGSV and Persona 5 were also on the PS3
Both started their development on PS3
Yeah but they were not actual ps3 games. Their real version came out on next gen.
That's an interesting list, very GameFAQs-esque.
I'm happy how high Heavy Rain is on this list. It's cool to see people appreciate that kind of game
you actually play all the games to record them? i love it
I know these are top rated by everyone but I’m surprised we didn’t see stranglehold, any battlefields, no NBA2K13? No max pain? Mafia 2? And how does guitar hero not make the cut?
Battlefield 4 seemed boring to me tbh
I'm more surprised by the absence of Wipeout HD+Fury and by the fact that FF13 is higher than FF13-2.
@@deadopsgx8578 bf4 wasn’t even on ps3
@@SciFiCam it was
the last of us in my opinion it's more then a game so many good memories I still play it on ps3 and ps4
GARY! GENIUS IDEA,
TOP 100 SALES/COPIES SOLD.
I may have already started work on it...
I like how remasters from ps2 are in top 100 of ps3 games haha
No doubt PS2 has some awesome games that people wanna play even on newer generations
That's because PS2 had so many great games. Have you seen how many remasters/remakes PS4 has as well? There's a lot.
Thought Resistance 3 would make it to the list. Maybe not enough played it
You my friend deserve to be in heavens for your lovely nostalgic channel
Surprised persona 5 didn’t make the list
I knew it!
Btw, you were emulating Ratchet And Clank HD? I don't remember it running so slow...
I don't think it was emulated, but I will ask the person who made the clip for me.
It's not emulated. So, it turns out, this was my fault - the gameplay capture isn't slow - but when I imported it into my video editing software, I accidentally changed the framerate - which is why it slows down a bit. Is it even possible to emulate the PS3 yet?
@@GaryRetroGamer Yes, there are videos about it on the tube
@@GaryRetroGamer yeah, at lot of PS3 games can be emulated, I'm not sure if the R&C games can be emulated via the PS3 emulator, but I was refering to the PS2 emulator, because the first R&C can be emulated in the PS2 emulator and look almost the same with the HD PS3 version.
:0 how isn’t bo2 here
it's on another list "Top 100 Call of Duty games"
@@V_For_Vigilante why did you play it
2:16 but why tho
lol
my favorite The House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut
No Gran Turismo? That would be my number 1 :( Great list though :)
This list is amazing. Now do the top 100 cRPG’s!
I'll say thanks for putting Shadow OT Colossus at the bottom.
Where is killzone 2 or 3?? Or both
Gary is one of the best gaming channels
All of those are cool bro, but, have you people heard the soundtrack of Beyond: Two Souls?...Thats magic bruh (iknow its in the list)
Just bought a ps3! Should be here next week :D excited to play a lot of these games , I missed out on ps3s exclusives since I played on 360 but at least now ill get to play them lol never too late
Hell yes man you're in for a treat!
@@Wolf-Squatch Yessir 🔥😎 I've passed Infamous 1 and 2, Resistance 1, now playing Resistance 2 and loving it so far. So many great exclusives on ps3 I'd definitely say better than 360 exclusives imo. Still have a lot of great games to play, I've also passed Batman Arkham Origins, even though not an exclusive i had never played it and it was cool to see the events that lead to Arkham Asylum
@@joeortiz5177 im playing the ratchet and clank HD collection right now and the sly Cooper collection has a spot close to my heart I grew up on those two platforming giants. The resistance games were so good and I loved infamous one and 2, festival of blood was awesome too!
@@Wolf-Squatch Nice man I need to pick up the sly cooper and ratchet and clank collection asap I've heard great things about those games! After I'm done with the resistance trilogy I'm gonna start the Killzone trilogy
@@joeortiz5177 Hell yes man. I hope you enjoy them!
Bro where's driver Sanfransisco
Which capture card did you use to record these gameplays?
I used the "AGPtEK HD Game Capture Video Capture" - www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MYWBG1I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Gary I just read on the link you provided, that this device DOES NOT support PS3 slim recording. Can you verify this please Gary. Thanks!
That was strange because I was able to use it with the Xbox360 at 1080p without any problems.
i read the description and holy shit do you actually buy the physical copies of the game?!
Which universe is this does naruto ninga storm exist here
Ps3 in 2024
Is the silent hill hd collection really that bad? Cz iv been wanting to play 3 for a while now but atm I only have a ps3
It is bad
IGN gave it a 9. Crazy that it was omitted
What a games, what a generation. The best era was ps3, wii, x360, Ds, Psp and pc 2005-2013. Every console have a great games.
Just Cause 2 in the 90s is crazy.
The walking dead more than Beyond two souls and Heavy Rain? Ok big players.
WAIT...where's Brütal Legend??!!
it looks like people on GameFaqs don't know shit about Double Fine games
I don’t see how Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen is much lower on this list compared to Dragons Dogma Vanilla
My favorite ps3 game of all time is for sure Donkey Kong and the lost banana land. What a joyfull game 😍
Wha? Is Donkey Kong on PS3? 🤔
@@miguelc2840 it is a exclusive game that nintendo only made 2 copys for ps3
@@zeszin What's the title? I tried looking it up on google, but I couldn't find it. 😬
What?!?!?
Motorstorm ??! where is it?
Bioshock Infinite ahead of Fallout New Vegas is wild.
Not played any of these with being retro only. newest console I own is ps2 but some of these games look awesome
No problem! Just bookmark this video and come back to it in 10 years when the PS3 is "proper" retro.
Ha ha will do bud👍
The ps3 is already retro dudes...
Damn fool stop living in the past and play these games
Same. I didn't likes when internet had to be used to update games and stuff. I just stick to my PS2 for now.
is 15$ for ps3 games (each one) expensive
Why are there no soccer dan racing games on this list ? Thanks for sharing ❤️
Lol this list is hilarious. I don't know how anyone would look at this list and be like "yeah that looks fine to me."
Yeah its full of some wird games and gta 4 is very low in the list
PlayStation Home :C
How Gran Turismo isn’t on this list is beyond me.
Yesssss!!!! Thanks bro 🙏🙏🙏
is this footage from the pc versions?
No its captured on the ps3
Great video!!!
