The Phantom Leviathan This colossal sized leviathan lives in deep waters of the Void, mainly feeding on leviathans large enough to fit in it’s mouth. It’s skin is a dark purple color which makes it almost invisible in the depths of the ocean. It’s eyes are two large, glowing, yellow orbs that pierce through the darkness of the sea. Sonar: This creature has great vision, but uses sonar to locate its prey from miles away. It can use this to escape from something that could eat it, such as the gargantuan leviathan or a larger phantom leviathan. Fins: This creature’s fins are not for swimming but for steering. It moves through the water by expanding and contracting its massive body, allowing it to glide through the depths with surprising grace and speed. The edges of its fins are lined with sharp barbs that can be used to fend off attackers or snag prey that tries to escape. Hunting Behavior: The Phantom Leviathan is a solitary predator. It hunts by lying in wait, using its sonar to detect the movements of unsuspecting prey. Once it locks onto its target, it can accelerate rapidly, reaching speeds that would leave most other sea creatures in its wake. It is not a creature of brute force, but rather one of strategy and precision, often approaching from below and swallowing its prey whole with a swift, powerful strike. Life Cycle: Starting in the deeper parts of the Void, the parents have to teach the babies in the egg sack to use their sonar from birth. When a baby Phantom Leviathan is born, it’s only 10m long. During this time, it eats fish and smaller sea creatures. The mother usually lives right above the nest to protect her young from other predators. As the baby grows, it learns to hunt larger prey, and eventually, it reaches its full size, which can be up to 4km long. Reproduction: Phantom Leviathans are known to lay eggs in the depths of the Void. The egg is usually 1700 meters in the depths and protected by a coral reef that grows around the nest. This coral reef is not only for protection but also for camouflage. The mother leviathan guards the eggs fiercely, and the father plays no part in the rearing process. When the eggs are ready to hatch, the mother releases a pheromone into the water, signaling the young to emerge from their protective casings. The young Phantom Leviathans, known as shadows, are about 10 meters long at birth. Their bodies are already equipped with the necessary sonar capabilities, but their eyesight is not fully developed yet. The mother teaches them to use their sonar to detect prey and avoid danger, as well as the art of stealth and evasion, which are crucial for survival in the harsh environment of the deep sea. The Phantom Leviathan could be food for something bigger… please make this into a leviathan anyone who can code ;D Also it’s AI, because I suffer from a disease known as stage 50 laziness lol

Fun fact, vocalizations from a creature of that scale would likely generate shockwaves (pressure waves) in ways very much akin to the shockwaves explosives generate. This means that hypothetically if you were within a certain distance of its head when it vocalized that not only would your mask possibly suffer damage but it would likely *rupture most of your organs.* Since the human body is mostly water, the shockwave would ravage your insides. Look up how explosions interact with the body underwater, then imagine that but at a much larger scale.
Just how a sperm whale hunts the squids they eat also if a human was close to a sperm whale and the whale decided to make that loud sound it could basically kill that person with only by making a supe loud sound it's a horrifying way to go but is also cool that they hunt by stunning giant squid's with their loud sounds
There are some real animals that can pose a threat to humans just from their sounds, a creature on this scale would probably instantly kill everything within a few hundred meters just by breathing.
It seems like that would have either not happened evolutionarily due to the massive amount of energy that would require... Or maybe it would evolved the ability to do that to kill prey

The fact it's attached to this entire huge expansion with story and hundreds of other mods is phenomenal work by the team.
5:46 “I mean, it already looks ma-“ The Gargantuan Levitation lets out an extremely loud and thunderous roar as if saying, “DON’T YOU DARE CALL ME MASSIVE!”
The thing is big enough to generate its own current when it swims, and send a damaging pulse of water at the player when it roars. We need to see a massive wave cascade over the crater after it breaches the water, to snatch the sunbeam!

I really do like how it doesn't unnecessarily attacks the player, just screams and the soundwaves hurt you like that makes absolute sense. I love how the mod has all of these other things that are amazing but the only thing that pepole care about is the leviathan... I mean i get why but...
The most interesting part is that the garg would need a pretty substantial food source to maintain its size and it would be very unlikely for it to be reapers or sea dragons due to how food chains work It most likely either feeds on what used to be much larger ghost levithans and reefbacks or an extinct intermediary between them The roar also suggests that it uses that to stun its prey before eating it and may possibly wrapping itself around its prey akin to a boa constrictor due to its extreme length Also the fact it doesn't even bother attacking the player is a nice detail because it would be wasting energy
The last remaining Gargantuan Leviathan needs to be In Subnautica 3! Imagine being pursued by Alterra in an attempt to stop them from completely destroying planet 4546BY, and near your death the Gargantuan saves you last minute ✊
I'm loving that you're replying to every comment, it's cool to see you going to so much effort As I'm sure you are too the Subnautica 2 trailer had me hyped as hell when it revealed what looked like a Gargantuan. However that doesn't diminish my anticipation for this mod as well, I'd love to see this amazing creature in both games Thanks for making this showcase, it really looks sick. Makes me wanna return to the terrifying depths to experience it all over again
5:36 By looking at this footage, it looks like the adult Gargantuan Levi is looking at you, and I believe it actually is! The way the three eyes look at the player may make the user feel like something’s watching them if the Garg is behind them and the user doesn’t know it, further adding to the unsettling aspect of the Gargantuan Leviathan.
It decided we weren't worth the effort. Even ignoring the "Oh this thing's crazy smart" side of it, it's not worth it from an energy perspective for an animal that size to go after prey that small, he'd be using more energy than he's getting back. It'd be like a human going after an ant for food, not worth the calories.
@@treybrzezowski3259 Yep, as the Ghost Leviathans or any other leviathans would make for a better food source that has much more calories than us humans have.
5:35 OMG THEY DID IT, I was waiting for this and yet it terrifies me so much now that it knows it tracks you with its eyes. Cannot wait to try this mod, been waiting for years
I love on how this is, yes it is still in process, shows on how the game should have been based on the lore we already have in the base game itself. So adding onto it from a fan pov is amazing. I can't wait to see the finished mod as well as you playing it lol. I still find it amazing on how that Gargantuan is a baby lol
Awesome mod, it's insane that this is fan-made. Did anyone else think that it fell back down a little too quick when it grabbed the sunbeam? That animation looked a tiny bit wonky but i have no idea if that's just me
That leviathan has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen modded into a game, if that were in vanilla that would probably be my favorite leviathan. So incredibly cool and unpresidentedly detailed for how massive it is
Fun fact, even though Spermwhales produce the loudest call due to their use of Echolocation AND size, Blue Whales also make a lot of noise from sheer size alone. Now, I'm no scientist, but If you account for sheer size alone, the Garg's roar would likely send vibrations through the water that could break every piece of glass, bone, and eardrums in a mile radius lmao. It could basically nuke its entire vicinity from vibrations alone.
When it’s out, would you please consider making a play through? I doubt I’m the only one who would like seeing you make a survival video or even a series on this mod. I understand if you don’t plan on doing anything like that but, I thought I should at least suggest it. Great video as usual and good day. ❤
Now that we know the official game is using the name Subnautica 2, I imagine these references to Subnautica "2.0" would want to be changed, to avoid any hassles from the publisher and keep them alive for as long as possible.
It looks so massive that it just moving turns and shifts the literal tides. A cool ending to the mod might include the garg dying or the player using the garg to destroy something
I know it would probably be a pain to optimise, but I'd LOVE to see some huge and realistic splashes for when the gargantuan leviathan jumps out the water to get sunbeam, such as a HUGE splash for when it falls back into the water
4:36 I saw another youtuber's video and the juvenile gargantuan is where the marker in the blood kelp zone was, it killed the original ghost leviathan inhabitant.
They need to hire these modders for the next Subnautica game. This being in the void next to the new location would be crazy. I could just imagine a ghost leviathan spawns and charges at you like normal then you hear a massive scream and this thing pops outta nowhere and eats it or something
The fact it's roar is so loud it cracks your mask is not only insane, but an incredible detail.
So freaking cool! :)

@@TheLastBacon i hope the mod doesnt get abandoned
The most interesting part is that the garg would need a pretty substantial food source to maintain its size and it would be very unlikely for it to be reapers or sea dragons due to how food chains work
It most likely either feeds on what used to be much larger ghost levithans and reefbacks or an extinct intermediary between them
The roar also suggests that it uses that to stun its prey before eating it and may possibly wrapping itself around its prey akin to a boa constrictor due to its extreme length
Also the fact it doesn't even bother attacking the player is a nice detail because it would be wasting energy
Great analysis - yeah I wonder what could keep this thing alive :)
@TheLastBacon I personally think it might be a larger reefback
A great barrier reefback if you will
The last remaining Gargantuan Leviathan needs to be In Subnautica 3!
Imagine being pursued by Alterra in an attempt to stop them from completely destroying planet 4546BY, and near your death the Gargantuan saves you last minute ✊
Seeing something this massive there would be awesome :)
you mean god of war 2018 style?
@@invisible-car-man yes 🙌
@@TheLastBacon it really would be!
can we all just appriciate the last bacon since he always responds to his comments and cares about his veiwers
I really enjoy talking to you guys! :)
Dawg, I’ve been waiting for this mod since I was 10 and now I’m 14 but the wait truly paid off. 💀😭🙏
The wait has been long for sure :)
I'm loving that you're replying to every comment, it's cool to see you going to so much effort
As I'm sure you are too the Subnautica 2 trailer had me hyped as hell when it revealed what looked like a Gargantuan. However that doesn't diminish my anticipation for this mod as well, I'd love to see this amazing creature in both games
Thanks for making this showcase, it really looks sick. Makes me wanna return to the terrifying depths to experience it all over again
I really love talking to you guys :) And I’m super hyped for Subnautica!
My favourite youtuber with my favourite mod, oh boy!
Yay thank you so much :)
I've never seen a youtuber so big responding all his coments!
And i always love seeing ur videos while i eat
Thank you very much! Enjoy the food :)
5:36
By looking at this footage, it looks like the adult Gargantuan Levi is looking at you, and I believe it actually is! The way the three eyes look at the player may make the user feel like something’s watching them if the Garg is behind them and the user doesn’t know it, further adding to the unsettling aspect of the Gargantuan Leviathan.
Yeah it’s freaking terrifying :)
@@treybrzezowski3259
Yep, as the Ghost Leviathans or any other leviathans would make for a better food source that has much more calories than us humans have.
I just want you to know there is no one else on the planet I would watch for updates on this game. You the man
Thank you so much!! :)
Hello! :D
WHOOOOOO!
Return of the Ancients is HERE! :D
Finally! :)
@@TheLastBacon
Yep! :D
5:35 OMG THEY DID IT, I was waiting for this and yet it terrifies me so much now that it knows it tracks you with its eyes. Cannot wait to try this mod, been waiting for years
Same!! Can't wait for this to be done :)
Bro I already own a house and have two kids and a wife.
Y only have a car 😭
Lmao it’s been a while :)
Absolutely! Love how this mod builds on what we already have :)
0:52 what is that?
Kinda looks like a dead reefback
Exactly :)
@@TheLastBaconTHEY KILLED MY BOY?!?! HOW CAN THEY):
@@TheLastBaconThey took his life😢😢😢
@@metindogan6271 they they did😢😢😢😢
This thing is so unfathomably big that the sound it makes would make everything around it explode…AND THEY ACTUALLY PROGRAMMED THAT FEATURE IN!
Yeah it's so freaking cool! :)
2:29 WHOA ... ITS MINECRAFT !
Haha basically :)
Awesome mod, it's insane that this is fan-made. Did anyone else think that it fell back down a little too quick when it grabbed the sunbeam? That animation looked a tiny bit wonky but i have no idea if that's just me
Yeah maybe that animation could use a bit more polish :)
Like if you want the gargantuan leviathan in Subnautica 2
Would be awesome :)
That leviathan has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen modded into a game, if that were in vanilla that would probably be my favorite leviathan. So incredibly cool and unpresidentedly detailed for how massive it is
Yeah it’s absolutely amazing :)
yah prove it
Well the vid is here :)
Robin what 💀
love your videos bro
Thank you! :)
Oh yeah the roar would turn Ryley into fine mist :D
When it’s out, would you please consider making a play through? I doubt I’m the only one who would like seeing you make a survival video or even a series on this mod. I understand if you don’t plan on doing anything like that but, I thought I should at least suggest it. Great video as usual and good day. ❤
I’d love to do that :)
man i remember wanting this mod like a year ago this is pretty cool
also you got me back into subnautica, maybe i should try to beat the game☠️
You definitely should! :)
Now that we know the official game is using the name Subnautica 2, I imagine these references to Subnautica "2.0" would want to be changed, to avoid any hassles from the publisher and keep them alive for as long as possible.
I guess so - no clue :) They were the ones to initially use the name!
Dude, the Garg is so gorgeous... (and terrifying, admittedly, but that's part of why it's so awesome)
Totally agree :)
The Last Bacon is finally back in my recommended!
Yaaay :)
I think the added detail to the Gargantuan makes it feel bigger than before, even though it's the same size. The movement was improved SO much too
It really does :) I think especially the slower movement helps!
The scariest part is that subnaucitca's model scale in comparision to Riley is smaller than what the official size is.
Oh lord :)
I can’t describe in words how excited I am for the public demo
Same :)
This Is Fire
Totally :)
i literally forgot about this mod tbh AND THEN i was in bed last night and i was like oh its been ages ill check AND u came up on my fyp
Talk about perfect timing! :)
The model and animations of the Gargantuan looks excellent and much more fluid than those seen in previous years. It looks very good.
Absolutely! Been getting a ton of work :)
It looks so massive that it just moving turns and shifts the literal tides. A cool ending to the mod might include the garg dying or the player using the garg to destroy something
That would definitely be an interesting ending :)
0:57 The Gargantuan Squid now officially has a animal named after him.
Yesss :)
you should to a playthough fr 🗣🔥(of the mod ofc) with all the story and everything
Sounds fun! :)
Not only is it only a video game, but I'm not even playing it and I felt so unnerved when you got close 😱
I totally understand :D
OoOoOoOo😮 the video is awesome, and I love the rest of your videos😀
Thank you kindly! :)
The Reaper is to the Garg, as the Peeper is to Ryley.
I think I'm going to stay in the Shallows. :D
Haha smart decision :)
Peepers are actually HUGE! A Peeper is about half of Ryley's body.
Got recommended this after seeing the Subnautica 2 trailer on twitter. Wth.
Huh nice :D
I know it would probably be a pain to optimise, but I'd LOVE to see some huge and realistic splashes for when the gargantuan leviathan jumps out the water to get sunbeam, such as a HUGE splash for when it falls back into the water
Would be amazing :)
Dude replies to every comment and makes great content , Respect man !
Thank you kindly :)
4:36 I saw another youtuber's video and the juvenile gargantuan is where the marker in the blood kelp zone was, it killed the original ghost leviathan inhabitant.
Ah makes sense :)
5:46
"It's already looks mass-"
Garg: **QUIET!**
Exactly :D
this looks soooo cool and btw brother love your content keep it up❤
Thank you kindly :)
5:38 HOLY SHIT.. IT STARES AT YOU WHAAAAT
So freaky! :D
When it comes out you should make a series!
Sounds great :D
They need to hire these modders for the next Subnautica game. This being in the void next to the new location would be crazy. I could just imagine a ghost leviathan spawns and charges at you like normal then you hear a massive scream and this thing pops outta nowhere and eats it or something
Would be amazing :)
