    Under rated top English driver of his day. With watching Pond in the RAC rally Driving a Metro 6R4 as a works driver for British Leyland

    This drive and the Rover 827 around the Isle of Man really set the standard. Old school cars with no driver aids absolutely mastered 👍

      You can say that again, Pond was a real Rally master, just look at his performance in the '93 Ulster Rally, top ten with the little Rover Metro without any sort of power steering on a twisty, tight, Irish road.

      Aside from the fact electronic aids don't allow certain rally recovery manuvers, quite a handful of amateur's cars were crashed when overheating brakes burned ABS sensors and system rapidly stopped working during braking to corners.
