Very well done video with honest reviews of all restaurants on Icon of the Seas. We just booked our cruise and was considering the Dining package, though I’m glad that we won’t have to, as the included restaurants are just as good. Appreciate the nice music in the background and thorough coverage of the Windjammer, as I can tell that you recorded the footage before it opened up, so the food looked amazing and there was no one else in the video. Enjoyed the video... So I have a question for you: Our Family is cruising on the Icon toward the end of this year... So far, I purchased both the 3 Night Dining Package and the Unlimited Dining Package, as I'm still uncertain as to which one to keep... We've had the UDP on all of our previous sailings (Symphony/Oasis/Freedom), but I started contemplating whether to secure the UDP for the Icon because of all of the other new complimentary food options that appear to be available... Here's my question: With all of the new food options, Is it truly worth purchasing the UDP for me, my wife, and child, or would it prove best to just secure the 3 Night Dining Package instead just to hit up a few of the faves (Chops, Izumi), along with the Empire Supper Club? Also, is 150 Central Park not on the Icon, because one of my favorite cruise drinks is made there - the Urban Garden Martini? Thanks
Hi there! 😊✨ Thanks so much for your question and comment! I'm happy to share my perspective to help you decide what's best for you and your family on your upcoming Icon cruise.
We personally enjoy dining atte specialty restaurants for lunches in addition to the dinners, so the unlimited dining package worked well for us.
The complimentary food options at the Windjammer and Aquamarket on the Icon are excellent and can be more than sufficient, especially if your family is busy with activities during the day and prefers casual dining. This frees you up to consider the 3-night Dining Package for a few special dinners.
If you go with the 3-night Dining Package, I recommend adding/booking the Empire Supper Club for one more specialty evening. It was an amazing culinary experience for us and could be a wonderful treat for you and your wife. However, it comes at a higher price point of around $200 per person without the discount offered by the unlimited dining package. 8 courses, each being paired with a cocktail.

Unfortunately, 150 Central is not available on the Icon. However, with the many bars on the ship, you might be able to have them replicate the recipe for you. Many of the staff have worked on multiple ships and may know the recipe, so they can craft it specially for you. 😊

Royal Caribbean has fell off in the food category, as witnessed by those coconut shrimp , cheddar biscuits and the molten lava cake. They all look lime the same foods that Sysco foods supply to chain restaurants like TGIF and the like.
