HOW TO FIX HP PAVILION LAPTOP TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER ISSUE

IF U DO NOT SEE THE HUMAN INTERFACE OR THE HD COMPLIANT OPTION TRY UPDATEING UR DRIVERS AND PC.
If Ur not sure how to do this fallow these steps
1.click the window icon on bottom left of your screen
2.click the gear for settings
3.click update & security
4.click check for updates
windows 7 users
1.go to the same place on taskbar bottom left
2.in search bar type control panel
3.select control panel
4.scroll to bottom where it says Updates
5. check for updates
to do drivers u can download a free progam called driver booster 4
or u can use slim drivers both are free but slim drivers bogs the system a little and to avast says its bombshell to the pc i never had issues but i wont recommend that one but driver booster 4 has been a good one for me i still use it and is does not trigger no anti viruses saying bombshell so yes its a good one and free
(Advanced Users)This video ultimately fixed my issue but wasn't the same issue. My touchscreen wasn't showing up in my Device Manager. the only touchscreen device was listed under the MOUSE AND TOUCHPADS. If you happen to NOT HAVE your touchscreen in your Device Manager, there is a Big chance it's hiding in the MOUSE AND TOUCHPAD drivers. I forgot the exact way it was listed but i remember "usb touch device" or something like that. I uninstalled the driver and clicked the "deleted the local files" box or something like that, and it automatically reinstalled itself correctly under the "HID Devices" "Touch Screen". My 4 month touch screen problem was finally fixed!!

This is exactly what I had but never had the thought to look at mouse devices and after uninstalling that driver it finally fixed itself

My touch screen suddenly just stopped working... And I subscribe to the simple rule of.. "If all else fails, reboot"... and "If reboot fails.. FDSK/FORMAT 🤣😂🤣 But, following your video it worked like a charm!
I used to use that little trick all the time when working on computers... but it's been many years... probably back in Win95 or the beginning of Windows 7... can't remember, but wasn't sure it was something that would work in 10. So glad to see that it *did* indeed work! Used to be one had to reboot after uninstalling hardware, and that's probably what I would have done until watching Your video and going to, "Action/Check for Hardware Changes"!
You helped make my problem disappear rather quickly! Took me longer to do the search for the fix than to actually *fix* it!

OH MY MOTHER OF EARTH! I WAS ABOUT TO SHOUT NOT BECAUSE I AM PISSED BUT BECAUSE I AM REALLY GLAD THAT I FOUND THIS VIDEO. I have read a lot of suggestions and answers from different forums but none of them solved my problem. Their instructions seem complicated and long but not helpful, but this video helped me fix the problem with my touch scree; this video is very helpful in a simple way! Mine was listed in mice and pointing devices as well. uninstalling it while keeping the driver software didn't work for me. I uninstalled it with its driver software and it worked.Thank You very much for the video!

I only had two options HID complaint wireless radio controls and HP wireless button driver
Download your HP models "Intel serial IO Driver" and make sure the files extracted go to "C:\SWsetup\Drivers" folder and not just C:\SWsetup.
Had to do step 5 twice before HID Compliance Touchscreen driver showed up. Still not seeing pointer with touchscreen, but it's functioning again. Thank you!!!

Fix worked, to an extent. The top half of the touchscreen doesn't work. But your method did do way more than any other method out there.

This worked perfectly for me, I did the first uninstall, then checked for changes the driver was now in the right place I tested it and right away it was working. all done in less then 2 minuets Awesome !!!! Thanks

I have the same computer but when I drop down the human interface devices on the device manager, all of that doesn’t pop up. The only thing that pops up is “HP Wireless Button Driver”? I know my laptop was a touch screen I’ve used it for almost a year now and it randomly quit working and I can’t find anything you’re talking about in the device manager😫😫😫 help?
I actually found it and uninstalled it and did everything this video said but it never popped back up. It’s like it’s gone for good now? How do I get the drivers back?
look for the hd compliant then hit the san for hardware changes or u can also just scan for hardware changes and see if the human interface comes back

Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions, and it worked. 2 hours later, touch screen became unresponsive again. I repeated the steps in your video, again, the touch screen began working again. Then, after some time, it became unresponsive. It is almost like the computer keeps "losing the driver." Any advice?

I did it but it's still not working and my monitor on the device manager shown as generic pnp monitor
I just followed your steps and when I uninstalled the compliant mouse guess what happened? I could no longer use my MOUSE to do the rest of the steps! DAMN I was mad! The only way I got back to this video is a hard shutdown. That returned my mouse. I do not have HID-compliant touchscreen under Human Interface Devices. Under Mice and other Pointing Devices I only have HID-compliant mouse. I should not have deleted that because mouse instantly went away ... this HP All in One desktop computer always had touch screen ability. No idea why it is not even listed anymore, not hidden, either. No idea how to get it back ...

I had the same issue. nothing listed under touchscreen..................not sure when it stopped working since I don't use it all that often
I did know it used to work. I updated to SSD drive and added memory. is there a cable or something I didn't connect?

My own system HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC doesn't have the touch screen feature in the options under the device manager. Please what do I do? Is there any way to download and install it on my system?

Once under device manager find and click human interface it should be under that section list if not just scan for hardware changes or try updateing drivers with a free program called driver booster and if u use driver booster be sure to download the latest version

I have only one option in mice and other pointing device, it's only synaptics SMBus TouchPad.
My touch screen works on just a little part of the screen. Why?
ok, so i uninstalled HID-compliant touch screen and when i scanned for system changes it came back but it still didnt fix the problem. plz halp me TTvTT
try it again then restart the pc if it still dont then it is more then likely a hardware issue
@@FROGSHELP I restarted like 3 times, then shut it down and left it for about 2 hrs then turned it back on, and nothing changed. but the main thing that is the problem is that I checked basically everything to see if there was any error or something but it says everything is working perfectly but it still doesnt work. the only thing i could manage to find was that it said "additional software requested" as on both the HID-compliant touch screen as well as the USB input device (which is where the HID-compliant touch screen "file" is located). it used to work fine but after about a couple months to half a year it had some (idk if its called this but...) ghost touches on the right side of the screen, as if it was registering my touches even though is was just watching a video. and when i disabled it for a couple days, i turned it on but only a couple minutes to a day or two (I did this multiple times btw) it had the ghost touch again. Then the last attempt at disabling and re-enabling, it was "enabled" but it didn't even work. I mean, i'm happy the ghost touches stopped but, the only reason i was turning it back on was to, you know, hAvE toUcH ScrEen.... so idk if any of this helps anyone understand WHY but might as well say it, anyways if this explains stuff tell me what to do, thx!!
@@Evelighte here is a link that explains all about the ghost touch and a few mothods on how to fix that issue as well as ur touch screen. seems according to them this is caused due to hardware inproper driver installs and improper temperature, humidity, lights or other conditions that interfere with the screen features. so again here is a link that will help with that i hope as i have never had an issue with any of my pc's due to such a thing as ghost touches hope this link will help shed some light on it and help fix ur issue. www.drivethelife.com/windows-10/how-to-fix-ghost-touch-screen-issues-on-windows-10.html

I can’t find anything like it. Not in my human interface area nor the mice and keyboard area. Looked through all of the options and don’t see anything that resembles it. So I am stuck. This only began recently. Seems like right after I got my new Logitech mouse. Strangely there duplicates of the mouse driver
only thing i can suggest is that u uninstall both mouse drivers and see if it comes back. if it does then ur new mouse driver is what is causeing it and dont reinstall new mouse drivers. and leave new mouse unplugged and do a scan for hardware changes if first one comes back and it still works just leave it at as it means ur new mouse disc or if u download them then thier bad files ether way

fallow the step in the video and u will see if u click scan for hardware changes it will then come back as thats one of the steps which was to uninstall then scan for hardware changes

@@dougiefresh8234 u didnt have to restore all u would of had to do was down load the free version of driver booster and run it and it would of reinstalled it

@@dougiefresh8234 no it will not being ur touch screen back it will just install a new updated version of the hid driver for u and also remember when u uninstall the hid and scan for hardware changes it does move it back under mouse controls in believe as when the driver faults it takes out of thier and moves it out that section my method uninstalls it then after it scans it puts it back where it should be and thats how it makes it work again and i know it works on others computers but the method is based on the hp pavilion as thats what i owned and when it stopped and i made it work again is how and what i based the video on. so if it works on other pcs then cool but it mainly based on the videos title

I uninstalled the compliant touch screen driver. After checking for scan for hardware changes and it’s gone. I’m frustrated
Restart pc and click scan for hardware changes it should come back
I tried that, and I tried it again. No luck

if screen is ctacked then unfortunitly no till u get sreen replaced as that makes it a hardware issue not a software sorry
